Powerful flush, low water usage, loud flush.
4 Star Review   By Consumer on Home Depot - Jul 13, 2012

Great high efficiency product. Very powerful flush. A bit noisy. A great value for pressure assist flushing. I had a professional installation, but it didn't seem any more complicated to set up than a gravity flush toilet, since the system is shipped intact. Just bolt the tank to the bowl. However, I fear that future maintenance may be more complex and costly, due to the special nature of the pressure assist system. The plumber said if I should have a problem I may need to order a new tank. I think it's a great system though and should save money on water consumption.

Does not save water. Requires 3 flushes, for all waste. Instead of flushing toilet paper it just tears it up and leave it in the bowl.

How do you keep fecal matter from sticking?
1 Star Review   By yudash2000 on Home Depot - Jun 26, 2012

Our toilet flushes fine and well. But the bowl hangs on to any fecal matter that touches the front of the bowl's interior and must be manually removed every time. Any suggestions on how to create a bowl surface with less friction?

Awesome Toilet
5 Star Review   By ITAintEz on Home Depot - Jun 26, 2012

Best toilet in the World! This was the first toilet I installed - I actually did two but I am super happy. Only 1 gal per flush! Every once in a while a heavy load requires a double flush but at only 1 gal, it fills fast and you can flush again if needed. The swoosh isn't quiet but not as loud as a commercail toilet. No clogs in a house where we had lots of clogs. Kids love to use excess tp. Anyways - everyone should replace their toilets with this one!

Perfect toilet

This toilet I should have bought several years ago. Water saving. Always is clean. A little noisy, but it never, never clogs. This was easy to install. I will wait one more week then adjust as needed. 6-19-2012

No more clogging
4 Star Review   By Elvtaylor on Home Depot - Jun 19, 2012

Bought this because my old toilet was clogging almost daily. This one has been installed for about 2 weeks and no clogs at all. The toilet is very loud, but I would much rather put up with a couple seconds of loud flush than with daily plunging of the bowl. Also would be nice if the bowl filled with more water, sometimes have to flush twice if material is not fully in the water the first time.

I after remodeling my bathroom I bought it and replaced a highend Kohler toilet that never worked as advsertised. The Flushmate is a key piece for any new toilet now that traditional 3gpf toilets are no longer available.

4 Star Review   By Vien on Home Depot - May 29, 2012

Product works well, easy to install, good price for a pressure-assisted toilet, very good value. Occasionally I need to flush twice, but it requires only 1 gallon of water per flush so it's OK.

great economical sloan flushmate
4 Star Review   By mtsus on Home Depot - May 8, 2012

It is loud, like I expected, but it is a great tradeoff for the power flushing. The only thing that I can say bad about it, is that it doesn't have a full clean "wash" around the bowl. I will take a few bowl cleanings over, plunging all the time...

IT WORKS!
5 Star Review   By xrayman on Home Depot - Apr 17, 2012

I needed to replaced a 1972 yellow toilet that never did a very good job of flushing, sometimes. The many positive reviews about the Glacier Bay Pressure Assist Toilet and the very good price helped me decide to order it. This model was not available in my local Home Depot store. The one thing I want to point out about any toilet purchase is to check the dimensions required from the center of the drain to the finished back wall. This toilet requires 12 inches clearance to the back wall. It fit exactly in the place my old toilet came out of but it was tight up next to the wall. Which is a good thing for back support of the tank. The toilet is a complete kit, but I didn't use the wax ring provided. What an out of date way of sealing the toilet to the drain. That wax ring is the number one source of problems when replacing a toilet. It is very unforgiving, make a mistake when setting the toilet over the drain and you will need to buy another wax ring. I used a Fluidmaster Wax-Free Toilet Bowl Gasket 7500, available at Home Depot. I did use a little liquid hand soap on the O-rings and the top seal of the wax-free seal, that made installation very easy. The Pressure Assist Flushmate system did need to be adjusted. As received the flush handle did not open the flush valve on top of the Sloan Flushmate tank. Adjustment instruction are included and is very easy to do. The city water supply at my house is 60psi and provides a very strong flush. If your house has very low water pressure this system may not work because the Flushmate system uses stored water supply pressure to work. The toilet works great!! It has not failed to flush anything my family has deposited in the bowl. Because very little water (one gallon) is used to flush with, sometimes toilet paper that is to one side of the bowl will not get in the flush stream. But the next time the toilet is flushed the paper gets washed away. Any paper in the front of the bowl is no problem. On the negative side, my wife thinks it is too loud.

Works Great!
5 Star Review   By EddieJ79 on Home Depot - Apr 17, 2012

My old toilet was getting so bad - I was plunging or routing it at least every-other day! Over time, it kept getting worse and worse. Finally, I reached my breaking point. Did a lot of research, and found that a toilet with the Sloan Flushmate with Pressure Assist was what I really wanted (like the one in our Walgreen's stores, and a couple of Hotels I've stayed at). A lot more force behind this flush, no electricity needed, and it fills so much faster! I've "tested" it out, and it doesn't even blink at what I have thrown its way so far! I have to plunge and route the toilet NO MORE! I wish all of the stores carried at least one of these toilets, though - I had to order through website (at least The Home Depot carries this one with the Flushmate in it, and made it easy to buy online), and then wait for delivery (which took less than 2 weeks, not long at all) - but I had done enough research, that I was sure I made the right choice, and I did! Bottom Line - - they should subsidize these toilets from the water everyone will save over the Gravity Fed type -- Works Great - couldn't be happier at this point!

Incredible toilet for the price!
5 Star Review   By BeachGuy on Home Depot - Apr 10, 2012

After reading a lot of reviews, and having flushing issues with an american standard toilet and a generic one, I was determined to get a pressure assisted toilet that had more power. I had heard some negative reviews of the in-store brand Glacier Bay by professional plumbers, but read an awful lot of excellent reviews by users. I am glad I paid attention to the reviews. This is by far the best toilet money can buy for value. For around $200 shipped, the toilet was relatively cheap. But when delivered (shipping seemed a bit slow but just within the date range provided), it was anything but cheap. When I opened, it was definitely well made, glazing evenly applied all over, and the packing well done. Installation was easy. I am glad I paid attention to the comments about getting a better wax ring as the one it came with was really small and cheap. That is my only complaint. After installing in about 10 minutes (hardest part was cutting the bolts to size to fit the plastic covers on the base), the toilet charged up and had an INCREDIBLE flush. While loud, nothing totally unacceptable. All toilets are audible, just cause its a little louder, SO WHAT? I've now had the toilet 2 weeks, and not one problem. Not once have we needed to flush it more than once. Not only are we fully satisfied, we are saving water now for the first time, only using 1 gallon per flush. There were complaints that the toilet paper can get shredded and backflow into the bowl. Never has happened once. I couldn't recommend this toilet enough!!!! If you have any doubts, go with the actual user reviews and not the professional opinions without the experience with this particular brand of toilet.

Powerful but incomplete flush
3 Star Review   By MoreCowbell on Home Depot - Apr 10, 2012

I believe this model comes in the 1.0 and 1.6 GPF versions. I have the 1.0 GPF model. It definitely has a powerful flush due to the Flushmate system. Without getting graphic, it is able to flush what one member of my family was able to defeat every other toilet in the house with - including a Toto Drake II which has a very good flush of it's own. The main drawback for us is that despite it's power, the flush is very brief and is over before some of the toilet paper floating on the surface can be washed away. This requires a second flush which defeats the purpose of the low GPF design. I suspect that the 1.6 GPF version may be better with this and I now wish that I bought that one instead. The finish and styling are nothing to write home about, but then again this is a relatively inexpensive unit so that is to be expected. Like others have mentioned, the wax ring was questionable and I bought a better one before installing. Also, the supplied seat was cheap looking and flimsy so we kept the one off our old toilet. The bottom line is that if you need to flush something the size of a small dog and would like to throw away your plunger, and don't mind having to flush a second time to get rid of some pulverized toilet paper, this unit is for you.

Great toilet at a very good price.
5 Star Review   By Xeno on Home Depot - Apr 2, 2012

Glacier Bay (pressure assist) Model # N2310E Base on 7 day usage. Pros: Pressure assist. Only uses 1- 1.2 gallons per flush. Fast flush to reuse time. All parts needed for install/use. Maybe good for regional rebates (Water company?). Solid waste first to get flush down. Cons: Bit loud. Floating dry tissue may need second flush. Other thoughts: I hand measured the water usage of 20yo toilet to be 3.75 Gallons. Saving 2.75 gallon per flush (or 1.75 if flushed twice). Installation is sandard. I just like the woooooosh (like hospital toilet). Definitely worth the price + any state/county discounts you get. Rough math: 3 people using the toilet 5 times a day = 15 flushes normally using 56 gallons (50 gallon barrel of water). This is reduced to 15 gallons per day, saving 41 gallons per day (over 1200 per month).

Great, but LOUD
4 Star Review   By DanL on Home Depot - Feb 11, 2012

Really flushes well. Easy to install. Agree with other reviewers about the quality of the included wax ring and seat (which we replaced). Sometimes there is some splash from the power of the flush, but nothing major and it doesn't happen all the time. The only thing I have issue with is the claim on Glacier Bay's packaging that states "extreme flushing power without the noise." It is loud. I used a sound level meter to compare the noise level of a regular toilet versus this toilet. The regular toilet peaked at 92 decibels. This toilet peaked at 105 decibels. It's quite loud, but only for a few seconds. The tank is very quiet when refilling and refills quickly.

Great toilet
5 Star Review   By shannonp on Home Depot - Jan 24, 2012

A one gallon per flush toilet, WITH pressure assist, for a bargain price, and it really delivers. Installed easily, replaced our old toilet that used more water and clogged constantly. Not one clog yet with the new toilet. Every now and then some toilet paper won't get washed down with the first flush, if it's not dropped directly into the bowl water, but all the waste goes down every time, and the toilet paper gets swept away with the next flush. (This usually happens when my 3 year old uses the toilet, since she sits further forward, she drops the paper toward the front of the bowl where there's no water.) We're very pleased with it. (We did take the advice of the other reviews and purchased a separate wax ring.)

Great buy for the money
4 Star Review   By francoamerican on Home Depot - Nov 26, 2011

I purchased one of these toilets about eighteen months ago. While the quality of the materials used in it's construction leaves a lot to be desired, I found that the actual design is a very good one. My old toilet used quite a bit more water per flush, but did not do as good a job as the Glacier Bay. So far the only design flaw I have found is in the plastic flush handle. After about six months, the plastic was worn out and the handle became very loose. I had no problem finding the replacement handle at Home Depot. Other then the handle problem I have had no problems with the toilet.

Two to three Flushes
2 Star Review   By serpent on Home Depot - Nov 22, 2011

It is strong and and I like the pressure assist but it take 2 flushes at least to get rid of solids and 1-2 for the water to be crystal clear for fluids unless you are ok with a slightly yellow water but that seems to defeat the point of a flush. They should have made it a 2 gallon per flush instead of a 1.5 so that it flush everything down as it is I use around 3 gallons per flush water saving ... not really.

Glacier Bay toilet with a flushmate system.
3 Star Review   By Skipper on Home Depot - Nov 9, 2011

Does not flush as I expected. When toilet paper is dropped on the front part of the toilet it might get flushed and it might not. Many times there are parts of the toilet tissue left in the bowel. It does do a great job of getting rid of the solid waste.

5 Star Review   By alive496 on Home Depot - Oct 11, 2011

Don't let the A.D.A. designation deter you, this commode has style AND is high enough for a person who uses a wheelchair to transfer to with ease. The interior flushing mechanism was originally what I was after, as Flushmate products will be the only item in my tanks for years to come. Never a clog and that's with minimal water usage - can't beat it. The shipping delivery required an appointment window of two hours, and the delivery guy was very helpful. Much to my surprise, the box even contained the wax seal that is needed to install the product. My only complaint: you must order online - why oh why can't I purchase this item in the store at Homedepot?

great value
4 Star Review   By xandi on Home Depot - Dec 11, 2010

Pros: - Flashmate is very efficient, gets everything down the pipe usually in 1 flash - uses only 1gpf, this is 1/4th of the water compared to my old toilets - you can get rebate from the county for preserving water. - easy installation, just watch the howto instruction video from the home depot Contra: - you will need to get another wax ring, I'd trust the one suplied - toilet seat could be also of better quality, It is good enough for time being, but if you prefer a stable seat get an extra seat you like.

Nice
5 Star Review   By SDSanDiego619 on Home Depot - Dec 9, 2010

I got this toilet on 12/8/10 and had no problems installing.. Well my husband didn't atleast. I did notice that if the toilet paper was not in the water at the time of flush it kind of comes back up in pieces. But no problems there I love the power of the flush since our old toilet used to just rise almost to the rim and go around and around and sometimes not even flush all the way down. Very happy with my purchase and found out I may also get a 100 dollar rebate check... Nice

Poor flush performance
1 Star Review   By Neosum on Home Depot - Nov 28, 2010

I read the 3 reviews about the flushing performance, but with many more positive reviews I went ahead and purchased this toilet. The flush pressure seems intense and almost commercial grade. I love the idea of pressure assisted flushing, but I don't think this toilet will cut it. It takes 2-3 flushes to completely clean out the bowl of solids. If any toilet paper is not fully immersed in the water, it will not flush the first time. To best describe my problem: After doing my business, I flush and watch the pressure push out everything. Then some of it (sometimes half of it) comes flowing back into the bowl. I would love to keep this toilet if it would just flush everything in ONE flush. Now I'm considering returning it and I just installed it this morning. If anyone else finds a solution to my problem, please let me know. Otherwise I'm taking this thing back in a few days unless I can fix it.

Strong flush for just one gallon
5 Star Review   By LarryFarma on Home Depot - Nov 25, 2010

More powerful than many tankless public toilets. Sometimes requires a second flush, but with just one-gallon per flush it is then still only a two-gallon total -- not much more than the 1.6 and 1.28 gallon per flush on the unpressurized toilets (and I wonder how many of those usually work on just one flush). The tank refills quickly because it holds just one gallon -- no significant wait for the second flush. Loud, but that is because it works -- the noise disturbance can be reduced by closing doors. The tank-to-bowl bolts cannot leak because there is an inner tank -- leakage at these bolts was a big problem on one of my old toilets (these bolts on regular toilets are poorly designed -- the head flange is small, so it is hard to get a good seal). Complaints about the seat and the wax ring are nitpicking, IMO. The seat is serviceable, and IMO it is better to let the buyer choose among the more expensive seats, if the buyer wants one. The wax ring has no plastic flange, but a wax ring with a plastic flange can be purchased for just a few dollars (perhaps this was not a good place to save money, but this complaint is no big deal). It would be nice in the future if the tank is sold separately so that the whole unit does not need replacement if the tank goes bad.

Seat attachment problems
1 Star Review   By acekern on Home Depot - Nov 24, 2010

I purchase this item and the installation went great until I tried to install the seat cover. The attachment nuts are difficult to reach and do not fit a standard box wrench. When I finally did get the seat inatalled it came loose and I still have been unable to get it from slipping off. Guess I will have to purchase another seat! and try this again.

Doesn't flush
1 Star Review   By dfgjhklhtreds on Home Depot - Nov 13, 2010

While it is capable of flushing with great force, it's incapable of actually flushing solid waste with any reliability. It's not a matter of it "is it worth it". It fails to deliver the function of a toilet.

Amazing Value
5 Star Review   By Gustavo63 on Home Depot - Nov 1, 2010

Have been looking for a while to replace the toilets in our 12 year old home. Found this amazing value and bought 3 of them for under $600 including FREE SHIPPING. Installed all 3 in a few hours with no problems. Followed the advise of other reviewers and bought the X-tra large wax ring. Have had them for 2 weeks now and they are great. no more multiple flushes or clogged toilets. Also look into your local geverment rebates... I found that in Broward county we qualify for $100 rebate on our water bill for up to a max of $200

Installation was a breeze
5 Star Review   By furtado on Home Depot - Sep 10, 2010

I have done my own plumbing for years and was tired of replacing parts on the old style floats and flappers. The cheap construction grade toilets in our new home were a constant aggravation. After checking reviews and looking at many toilets, FLUSHMATE system seemed to be the way to go. I installed two toilets and followed the advice of others to use the extra thick wax rings. They went in easily and worked perfectly with the first flush. The toilet does a better job with less water than my previous toilets. I would highly recommend the ADA chair height as many people have difficulty with the lower types.

Toilet was broken right out of the box
4 Star Review   By Giantmike on Home Depot - Aug 19, 2010

The new toilet seems to work fine now that I got a replacement. The plumber when he was taking the toilet out of the box the bowl fell apart. Cracked into many pieces. Home depot was very accomidating when returning it but the inconvience and expense of having the plumber wait while I went and returned it cost me an extra 150 dollars. Now that it is installed it seems to work fine.

A GREAT, LONG LASTING PRODUCT
5 Star Review   By txlonghorn on Home Depot - Aug 3, 2010

I have had 2 Sloan FLUSHMATE toilets in a commercial building for over 14 years, with only minor parts replaced after 12 years. There is NO flapper to cause leakage problems, NO chain or other mechanism to mess with. This product is practically maintenance free, and I will NEVER go back to the old style. The FLUSHMATE system is worth the extra cost.

I will NEVER go back to the old style.
5 Star Review   By txlonghorn on Home Depot - Aug 3, 2010

I have had 2 toilets with the Flushmate pressure assist system for over 14 years, with very minor parts to replace after 12 years. The Flushmate extra cost is WELL WORTH it, since you NEVER have to flush but ONE TIME, and the 10 year guarantee can't be beat.

Power Assist Toilet
4 Star Review   By tugboatdave on Home Depot - Jul 6, 2010

We had low flush pressure at our home. I replaced both toilets with these units. All hardware and wax rings were in the boxes. The only thing missing were the vanity caps for the mounting bolts. Not a big deal. One flush @ 1 GPF vs, several @ 3.8 GPF. I am PLEASED!

Great Toilet
4 Star Review   By Kimmey on Home Depot - Jun 13, 2010

Does its job and with 1 gal of water. It is louder than a gravity flush but quieter than most industrial toilets. You push down the leaver and release, no holding the leaver down. If you or your kids do hold down the leaver it doesn't waist a lot of water trying to fill the tank. Nor is it entertaining for little ones to stand there holding down the handle. I do find that toilet paper that doesn't land in the water often needs a second flush, but even 2 flushes is less water than my old one (for example when my 3 yr old unwinds half a roll of toilet paper into the toilet). I had bought the toilet for the master bathroom we are remodeling but when the main bathroom toilet clogged and couldn't get it unclogged we put this one in. Now I am ordering another one for the master bathroom. Only 4 stars because the original seat and wax ring were junk, but I knew that when I bought it.

Works good
4 Star Review   By 1ReluktantDYIer on Home Depot - May 1, 2010

This toilet works very well but it is significantly louder than a conventional toilet. My wife says it sounds " industial". I gave it 4 stars because of the claim that it was just as quiet. It's seems worth it to use only 1 gal per flush so I'm OK with it. We actually laugh every time we hear it flush.

Great Toilet

Purchased this toilet to replace old gravity type toilet and it works great. Was very easy to install. Not noisy as some may say. Completely happy with our purchase.

Satisfied Customer
4 Star Review   By PHHC on Home Depot - Dec 28, 2009

I purchased this online a month ago, installed it last week, and I am happy with my purchase. 1) It was simple to install. 2) The pressure system did not need any adjusting. That that could be a drawback if it requires much tinkering in the future, but there are instructions on how to adjust it. 3) Definitely get a new wax ring and seat as others recommended. 4) The flush is indeed significantly louder than a normal gravity toilet. Not quite as loud as those in public bathrooms, but that is the approximate sound. My friends have taken to cheering on the flush. 5) There does not appear to be any danger of clogging this toilet. Everything has gone down quickly, although the flow on the sides can leave streaks behind, but is strong enough to carry down any rogue paper. The only reasons I would stay away would be if you want a really quiet model, or worry about the long term reliability of the pressurizer in the tank.

Water miser
4 Star Review   By Ken1940 on Home Depot - Nov 16, 2009

I installed this toilet about a month ago, replacing a 30 year old 3.5 gph model. So far it has taken care of business with one flush, and is nearly as quiet as a gravity fed toilet. My reason for replacing it was to save valuable water. The only downside for this model... a "complete toilet" is that the seat and the included wax ring are basically junk... I threw them both away. A suggestion to the manufacture... either include a good quality seat and ring or eliminate them and let the buyer supply their own. I will now be buying two more of these units to replace the others in my house... perhaps I could return the seat and wax ring for a refund??

Glacier Bay Pressure Assisted Toilet
4 Star Review   By RubysDad on Home Depot - Nov 11, 2009

Purchased and installed this toilet about 2 weeks ago. Installation was straight forward and all components were included in the box. The pressure tank was installed at the factory. The pressure unit required no adjustments during or after the install. The install did require another trip to HD to replace the included wax ring as the included ring was dry and brittle. After using for two weeks, I am pleased although the unit when flushed is not as quiet as advertised. Don't get me wrong, the loudness of the flush is not bad or unbearable, just louder than a non-jet assisted unit although this toilet was described as being "as quiet as a gravity feed toilet". Also, the seat and seat lid is a bit on the "flimsy" side. I plan to replace this with a sturdier seat. I would recommend this toilet but pick up a wax ring and a sturdier seat while you are shopping.
