Not good for school, not continuous
Strengths: Pretty colors
Weakness: It is not reliable
This pencil sharpener lasted five weeks in a second grade classroom in St. Paul, MN. Now it overheats in five minutes. The kids tested it and it failed big time. The teacher does not approve, I am sure. This is not a good product and I do not recommend buying it at all.

IF I COULD RATE IT A ZERO I WOULD.
Strengths: None
Weakness: Motor Blow Out In Two Months, Poor Workmanship, Falsely Advertised
My Exacto Boston School Pro Pencil Sharpener rating needs to be ZERO because it is a ZERO. We live in a school district that still send to the classroom and endorses the hand crank pencil sharper that screw on the wall. This is a bad idea in the classroom especially when you have 20-25 students in the class room, lined up to sharpen their pencils in the morning. The students would spend 30...

tried it twice
Strengths: quick and quiet
Weakness: blunt and broken pencils
First one I had within three months was only sharpening down one side of the pencils. They replaced it and within 4 months it was sharpening the pencils, but somehow it would break them about 1/4" down so when you would go to write it would fall out. Certainly not worth the money.

Boston School Pencil Sharpener
Strengths: Large holder for shavings, multiple pencil sizes, cord length
Weakness: Became dull after about 7 months, breaks pencil lead (graphite) when dull
I returned my first one after about 7 months because it was breaking the pencil lead (graphite) when sharpening inexpensive pencils. Boston replaced it with an E-ACTO. It became dull after about 7 months and is now breaking pencil lead again. Can't use it and Boston tells me there is no way to replace the blades.

No Repair Parts
Strengths: It sticks well to counter
Weakness: Goes out of adjustment very quickly
This unit sticks well and hold a lot of shavings. The automatic start is operated by a thin, small spring when a pencil is put in, it pushes on a lever that will move and activate a micro switch to turn it on. This Spring Breaks very easy and then the Pencil Sharpener stays on! A metal piece of metal that acts as a auto-shut off gets out of adjusment very easily and then the pencils get sharpened...
