Yamaha YPG-235
3 Star Review  productwiki.com - Jan 20, 2011

The Yamaha YPG-235 is a portable electronic keyboard emphasizing easy learning but also accomodating of more experienced players, making it the ideal choice for beginning students who aspire to advanced piano playing. It boasts 76 keys with GST (Graded Soft Touch), 30 songs built-in and 70 more on an accompanying CD-ROM, and the included Yamaha Education Suite V6 features several lesson modes to fit different styles of learning and handy extras such as a chord dictionary. For those who are already advanced players, the YPG-235 appeals with more professional features such as true stereo sound, bass boost, digital effects, and a wide selection of voices (including 116 panel voices, 12 drum/SFX kits, and 361 XGlite voices). Users can also record their own songs on 6 tracks. In addition, it features not only computer connectivity but easy setup with the touch of a button. While the YPG-235 doesnt come with protection, a ... PROS: (1) Graded Soft Touch feel nice for those seeking a balance between real piano keys and basic synth keys. (2) Menu/function navigation and use is simple and straightforward. (3) The Acoustic Grand setting sounds pretty accurate for a keyboard of this price. (4) Sounds and plays almost as well as the much more expensive YPG-535. ... CONS: (1) Power adapter is not included. (2) Graded Soft Touch still feels like a poor substitute when compared to higher-end keyboards weighted keys. (3) While using the Dual Voice feature, adjusting either or both of the voice volumes is more awkward than it needs to be.

Awesome Keyboard
5 Star Review   By Night Star on Adorama - Oct 22, 2013    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

This is an awesome product. I've been a musician for over 60 years and have played many different acoustic and electronic keyboards in my lifetime. This electronic keyboard is exactly what I was looking for. The "sweet" sound of Yamaha is outstanding, it has everything on it you could ever wish for, the portable grand sound is perfect, and it only weighs 18 lbs. I can carry it anywhere. The acoustic piano was always my instrument. I never thought I could find any keyboard that would compare. This keyboard has surpassed my expectation. And I LOVE it!

I'm handicapped by a stroke. I play the left hand chords with my right hand and save it as a User File. I play back the file and put the right hand with it. Works great!!

Good but
3 Star Review   By bigdaddy on Adorama - Mar 17, 2013    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

Bought it as a new beginner. The key board is nice and I like the teaching software but it only has 30 songs and most of the songs to learn are mostly beyond beginners mode that I feel daunted.

Perfect Piano :D
4 Star Review   By member christineexx - Mar 19, 2010

Strengths: everything is working well

Weakness: not that much songs in the song bank, did not have a a/c adapter, no stand

The white buttons were dirty, but i don't care about that. Everything is working fine. I would recommend this inexpensive, synthetic piano. It sounds wonderful to the ears.
