Description
If you appreciate the full range of a piano keyboard in a lightweight package, the 88-note Keystation 88es is for you. You get great-feeling, semi-weighted action that's velocity sensitive to convey all the nuances of your playing to your computer and most popular music education and studio software. The pitch and modulation wheels plus slider and buttons make it a great controller for playing and programming synths, samplers, drum sounds and more. At just 22 lbs., the Keystation 88es is equally at home on stage and in the studio. Class compliancy with Windows XP, Vista (32 bit), and Mac OS X ensures easy plug-and-play setup. It's even bus-powered, so one simple USB cable is the only connection you need.

The M-Audio Keystation 88es is a lower mid-cost musical keyboard. The pitch and modulation wheels of this keyboard allow you to control effects on the fly, while the volume slider allows you easy access to the master volume. The eighty-eight keys of this keyboard are velocity-sensitive, which means that they will respond to how hard you hit them. These keys are also semi-weighted. The included Ableton Light Live software allows you to record your music onto your computer. The Keystation 88es is compatible with Mac OS X, Windows XP, and Vista (32 bit), with automatic installation. This keyboard differs from the lower cost Keystation 61es in that it has eighty-eight keys instead of sixty-one. The M-Audio Keystation 88es is powered via USB or 9VDC power adapter (sold separately). Features 88 keys Velocity-sensitive semi-weighted keys Pitch wheel Modulation wheel Volume slider Powered via USB or 9VDC power adapter (sold separately) Mac OS ... PROS: (1) Minimalistic styling in a stylish, durable silver casing. (2) Very light, making it fairly portable for a full 88-key keyboard. (3) Plug-n-play setup with compatible OS. (4) Surprisingly solid keys with fairly realistic action--not bad for the price. (5) Well featured enough for the seasoned pro and cheap enough for amateur recording artists. ... CONS: (1) USB input is on the far left at the back of the keyboard and included USB cable is short, making some setups impossible.
