4 Star Review  productwiki.com - Jul 14, 2011

The Grado SR325is is an upper mid-cost set of over-the-ear headphones. Grado promotes these headphones as being an improvement over previous models, especially in terms of distortion control. One of the upgrades on the SR325is headphones is in the driver design. The driver moves air and reacts to sound vibrations with the metal housing. These two components working together makes these headphones less affected by transient distortions. Another upgrade from previous models is the 8 conductor cable. This cable offers you improved control and stability in the upper and lower range of the frequency spectrum, as well as more support for the midrange frequencies. To further enhance the quality of bass response, the Grado SR325is headphones have a vented diaphragm that boosts the bass while tempering distortion. Features Vented diaphragm Aluminum air chamber UHPLC copper voice coil wire UHPLC copper connecting cord Dynamic tranducer Open air operating principle 18-24Hz frequency response ... PROS: (1) upfront, energetic sound that immerses you in the music (2) some warmth that improves with use (3) bright and highly detailed sound, very clear (4) bass has a great texture and detail, leaves nothing to be desired (5) durably built for regular use without showing signs of wear ... CONS: (1) audiophiles will notice treble has a slightly metallic tone (2) too bright and warm for a neutral or natural presentation, not right for classical or jazz

Grado SR325i review
5 Star Review   By BobinNJ on 6th Ave Electronics - Aug 6, 2009

Strengths: Beautful, clean sound; great soundstage.

Weakness: Can be overly bright with some sources. Needs at least 24 hrs. break in. Not the most comfortable for some.

Grado is known as a high end headphone manufacturer. The SR325i is at the top of the Premier line, which represents the most affordable, and consumer, oriented of their product line. The sound is clean with an amazing amount of channel separation & deepness of soundstage. The phones have only a ¼ inch plug, so a 1/8 inch plug attachment is required to use with iPods & other mp3 players. As for the negatives, the phones have a tendency to sound bright, especially when new. This should even out after about 20 hours of use. Also, the pads sit on the ears rather than over them, which some people can find uncomfortable. I’ve never had issue with this. Probably the best phones for the money.
