The Activity Director's Companion is a new magazine created and designed for today's activity director. Published bi-monthly, it is the ultimate resource for sanity and success! We want to provide you, the busy activity professional, with an easy-to-use, well-organized, innovative, long-term resource to help you meet the day to day challenges of your job. In addition, we want to offer you opportunities for networking, continuing education, and professional growth. Each issue is divided into various categories for ease of use, allowing you to quickly find activities most appropriate for your residents. CELEBRATIONS contains two month's worth of selected calendar information, as well as at least two "in-depth" sections related to holidays or events that occur during those two months. MUSIC, MOVEMENT AND MORE includes a variety of exercises, simple dances, and sing-along songs ÃÂ most of which are also keyed to CD tracks. LET'S GET TOGETHER: GROUP ACTIVITIES provides everything from a fully-themed long-term activity ÃÂ to pencil and paper games and diversions to help pass the time while waiting for meals or other events ÃÂ to group games designed to get everyone involved. THINK ABOUT IT: BRAIN EXERCISES are puzzles and scenarios designed to provide a mental workout to compliment the physical movement presented elsewhere. LEARN, SHARE, EXPLORE: CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR SENIORS section features articles, CD selections, poems, stories and a variety of other devices, all keyed to educational growth, discussion, and expanding horizons. PROFESSIONAL'S CORNER consists of professional articles designed just for you by Rachel Ryan, who is Activity Consultant Certified.

Strengths: CD that comes with it
Weakness: none that I can see at this time.
I have been using the Activity Director's Companion with my residents since May. They enjoyed the "What Would You Do?" They are really funny. They would say "why wouldn't they tell!" They like the Armchair Travelogue each month. They like hearing about places that they never have been to. The Sin-Alongs are great.
