With out watch
Strengths: Beautiful, Nice weight
Weakness: Dont have screw in crown Repair time
I purchased my Tag back in September of 2005 in the Bahamas because of the price. It was about $700 cheaper than in the states. I love the watch but it has some drawbacks. This model, unlike other Tags, does not have a screw in crown. This brings me to my problem, the crown always pops out and the watch stops. This happend a number of times till the crown came out of the watch completely around the middle of January 2006. No worries it has a 2 year warranty! I sent the watch back through a jeweler that could not give me a time frame on the repair. The watch had to go to the repair center located in NJ. I contacted the repair center on Febuary 7, 2006 to find out that the parts that are needed to make the repair are on backorder and may not be availible until April or May! I own a high end watch that will spend 4 out of 7 months of ownership being repaired. Not a great experience!!!

TAG Heuer Carrera Automatic Chronograph
Strengths: Beautiful, impeccable quality, classic styling.
This is my fifth TAG Heuer so far (two 6000 Series, one Kirium chrono, one Kirium Ti5, and now a Carrera chrono), and the Carrera has to be my favorite! I've wanted one for years and finally found one at the right price at the right time. I don't have a single bad thing to say about it; the TAG Heuer name, reputation, quality, and styling are legendary.

$50 watch more like...
Strengths: looks amazing, good weight and feel good
Weakness: bad time keeping
brought the watch for $2750 in Switzerland and after 5 months ownership with 4 months of them in service.
It contiuned to be slow by 10 - 15 minutes a day, in the end I had to sell the watch for $1500, destroyed my trust in the brand completely.
Never getting a Tag high end watch ever again.
now happily owes a Omega Speedmaster with no faults at all.

chronograph reset button fell
Strengths: Beautiful watch, unscratchable crystal, never have to remove watch
Weakness: chronograph reset button fell out under regular use
Have had watch for just over 2 years - warranty just ran out - and noticed chronograph reset button to be missing. It had fallen out. Interestingly, me and my best friends got the same watch on the same day - gifts for father's day from our wives - and his button also fell out 6 months ago and was repaired under warranty. Appears I am out of luck.

my favorite accessory
Strengths: build quality
Some may wonder why these watches are expensive, not realizing the quality of workmanship that goes into them. This is not the kind of watch you change ever 1-2 years, but something you may keep for a lifetime. I love it.

Not the quality one would expect
Strengths: Looks nice
Weakness: Broke down after three years
Got this watch three years ago in wedding present. Worked fine until recently. The reset button fell off (I note this seems to be a common problem) and the watch stopped altoghether. Repair price 800 USD! Quite a hefty price for three years of normal usage!

Not a precision timepiece, quality control and customer service non-exsistent.
Strengths: Looks great. Heavy solid watch.
Weakness: See review.
I purchased my Tag Carrera (Automatic Chronograph Day-Date) at Little Switzerland (authorized dealer) on 6/3/10 while on vacation in Aruba. I've had problems with it ever since. On the plane ride home I noticed two problems: 1.) the crown had imperfections in it. Not all of the adhesive (black filling) took to the crown – you could see “air pockets” under the black filling, and 2.) the stop watch did not accurately measure an hour as a result of the hour stopwatch hand not sitting exactly at the zero or 12 o’clock position (the hand doesn’t reset properly). The hand sits a full hand in front of the zero or 12 o’clock position, which results in the stopwatch measuring an hour before an hour has past. I’ve tested the watch multiple times. The watch is close to being accurate on some occasions, but is significantly off on others (> 15 minutes per hour).
I contacted Little Switzerland and they said I would have to send my watch to the Tag Service Center in New Jersey (ok, fine). I sent the watch and received it back about a month later. Upon inspection, the back of the case was completely scratched. It appeared as though someone had used a wrong tool or a tool that did not properly fit, as the majority of the scratches were concentrated around the grooves in the back of the case (where a customized tool would fit to open the case). I immediately called the NJ Service Center. I took pictures and emailed them to the Service Rep I spoke to per her request. To make matters worse, the stop watch issue was not corrected. They asked me to return the watch so they could see the scratches for themselves. I had to argue with them before they would cover the shipping costs to re-send it.
I sent the watch back to NJ for them to once again correct the original time issue with the stop watch and to have the new scratches taken care of.
Upon receipt and inspection by Tag, they called me and said that there was no way the scratches were from them. I was speechless. Never did I think Tag would deny responsibility for the damage that they did to my NEW watch. Long story short, they finally offered to pay to have the case refurbished. Before any work was performed (internally for the stop watch issue) I spoke to a Technician regarding the stop watch issue. I talked her though the issue (while my watch was in her hands) and she agreed with my assessment and that there was an issue with the stop watch hour hand not resetting/measuring time properly. She assured me that the issue would definitely be resolved this time.
I received my watch back (for the 2nd time) 3 weeks later – on 8/19/10. The original stop watch issue has STILL NOT been CORRECTED, and not all of the scratches were able to be buffed out (goes to show you how deep some of the scratches were). I called Tag and spoke to the same Technician who assured me the issue would be resolved the 2nd time. She’s now claiming that it must be a “human mechanical” issue on my part as to why the stop watch hour hand isn’t properly resetting and accurately measuring time.
In short, I’ve had the watch for approximately 3 months (2 of those months Tag has had it at their service center “fixing” it). I cannot begin to express how dissatisfied I am with Tag’s Customer Service, Quality Control and the watch itself – How does a “precision timepiece” of this value ever leave the warehouse with these types of problems?!? I would never think of buying another Tag watch again. Do yourself a favor and take this watch (or any Tag) off of your list if you’re in the market to buy.

Same as everyone else
Strengths: It is beautiful
Weakness: Crowns are known to break than
When they get it at the factory they won't fix unless you pay for servicing. Also, my strap broke and I put on a different one - they won't let it leave the factory unless they make it completely original.

I love it from the first look
I was living in Dubai and was looking for more than 3 months what watch i would buy in the price range of $2000-$2500. Unfortunately Rolex was far to expensive for me and additionally i was not excited with any of there models. One day i stoped by the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi and i saw this watch. I loved it from the first look. So i bought it with an exchausting bargain (with an indian guy who was in charge there). Dont pay attention at the prices they mention in theire labels. They are allways overestimated ! Try to drop prices as much as you can (they love that too...) I finally got it for $2,100 and i think its a very good price concidering European Prices that i think are in the range of EUR 2300- EUR 2500 !!! No problems till now...it works perfectly.
