Fan is not 1140 CFM. The label said 1020/760 CFM
3 Star Review   By fallingshort on Home Depot - May 16, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

The label on the fan said it is rated for 1020 CFM when used with its 433 automatice shutters and 760 with other shutters. In other words, you are only getting a 760 CFM fan if you are installing it behind an existing gable vent. Still comtemplating whether I should install it.

This product does a great job of pulling the heat out of the attic.
4 Star Review   By Jerry on Home Depot - May 14, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I think this product is a good value for the price. It works great and does the job it is made to do. The only thing I don't care for is that it is loader than I expected.

5 Star Review   By EllJr on Home Depot - May 8, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Works great so far. Little noisier than expected, but I have a low pitch roof, so only 2ft from cieling.

This is a 1020 CFM
1 Star Review   By irate123 on Home Depot - Apr 27, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This fan is not an 1140 cfm it is a 1020 cfm therefore it does not cover the square footage indicated. It states 1020 cfm right on the box.

Easy to install, but LOUD
4 Star Review   By LibraSun on Home Depot - Oct 23, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Nice quality at this price, and relatively easy to install (I was able to prepare the mounting site in advance, knowing the product's dimensions). Thermostat is a nice touch. Deciding on a model was NOT easy, however, owing to the many different CFM ratings and the wide range in pricing. My only complaint is that this model is WAY LOUDER than expected, which I found disappointing. My 'trick' of ordering a lower-CFM unit - thinking it would be quiet - did not work out. Of course, my application (a work shed with a high ceiling but nothing between me and the fan) is unusual. So, I wound up having to purchase the Broan 72W fan speed control, and will be replacing the shut-off switch with it. No big deal, since I know that will solve the noise issue.
