Helps with constipation
5 Star Review   By pon2000 on Vitacost - Apr 9, 2013

I take 3 of these if I feel constipated. It works. I bought some to give to my dad who has the same issue. It works for him as well. Although some people complain about the size of the pills, they are the exact same size as the Vitacost brand which I bought also. I usually buy the Vitacost brand because it's a little cheaper, but last time I ordered for my dad, the Vitacost brand was out of stock, so I ordered this brand. They both work the same to me, and the same size pills. I have no problem swallowing either pill with water. I take all 3 pills together. I guess I'm used to taking a lot of pills.

Can't live without it!
5 Star Review   By roxeal on Vitacost - Apr 8, 2013

I have a serious magnesium deficiency due to taking cyclosporin for a transplant - so I have to have magnesium daily, or I get bad muscle spasm/cramping, crippling. This is the ONLY magnesium I can use, as the other forms of it bother my gut - and this is the ONLY BRAND of the glycinate form of magnesium that has worked for me as absorption and effectiveness goes. I don't know what I'd do without it. I am low income, and insurance does not reimburse me for this medically necessary item, so I am very fortunate to have Vitacost provide it at a discount.

Pills are too big
3 Star Review   By Jackchas on Vitacost - Feb 26, 2013

Love the product, however they are horse pills. Just way too large. I had to change to a different brand. Sadly, if they'd change to capsules, I'd buy again! :-9

works well
5 Star Review   By llcindyll on Vitacost - Feb 26, 2013

Works well for me - feel calmer, takes the nighttime, end of day edge off, helps me relax into sleep about 20-30 minutes after taking. I'm less prone to irritability throughout the day. Love this stuff. Yes the tablets are large but I don't have any trouble swallowing pills.

No diarrhea
5 Star Review   By Hannah1 on Vitacost - Jul 7, 2011

This is the only form of magnesium that does not cause diarrhea in a family member with Crohn's disease. Large size may be difficult for some people to swallow.

Disappointed
1 Star Review   By repgirl on Vitacost - Jul 1, 2011

I mistakenly ordered tablets not capsules. The tablets are gigantic. I choked trying to swallow them. Even tried breaking in half. They are too big of pills for me and I don't want to pay to send them back.

Great product
5 Star Review   By healthandlove on Vitacost - May 15, 2011

My nutirtionist put me on this product and I love it. It seems to be doing the job by providing me with ample magnesium without having to take a bunch of tablets.

Doesn't Work for Me
1 Star Review   By mountainlady on Vitacost - Apr 23, 2011

My doctor recommended this form of magnesium, since another form I was taking gave me loose bowels. Two to four of these LARGE tablets do nothing to relieve my magnesium deficiency symptoms, while a half dose (one capsule) of the other is very effective. I would rather take the pill that works, so for now, I will do that and put up with loose bowels.

Good Price
5 Star Review   By LSmith on Vitacost - Apr 20, 2011

By far the best price out there. My homeopathic doctor told me to take these for my magnesium deficiency; I'm take other supplements, so it's hard to say that this is specifically doing the job - although, my deficiencies seem to be in check. The pill is huge, but it doesn't bother me. The price is definitely the best around.

Great for muscle spasms
5 Star Review   By ZippyBug on Vitacost - Oct 23, 2010

This product has 2 things going for it. First, it stops leg/muscle cramps, and second, since it is Mag Gycinate, it does not cause diarrrea like the Mag citrate can. I know Mag citrate is great for those with sluggish bowels, but since I struggle with the opposite problem, this product is fantastic for me. Without it, I suffer with painful leg and foot cramps as well as "restless leg syndrome" which is nothing more than a magnesium deficiency. I do take calcium along with this since calcium is the companion mineral for magnesium.

I'm glad Vitacost carries this excellent product
5 Star Review   By Ellavemia on Vitacost - Oct 17, 2010

I originally bought this magnesium glycinate for female support but I stopped taking it after a while due to the large tablet size.A week ago, symptoms of TMJ flared up badly and I wasn't sure what to do. I remembered that magnesium has been reported help this, so I started taking just one tablet each day. After a week, the urge to clench my jaw and the accompanying pain are no longer troubling me as they were. I will be using it regularly from now on.This form of magnesium is easily absorbed and assimilated into the body so it is recommended over other forms.

Excellent for tachycardia
5 Star Review   By Fibonacci on Vitacost - Aug 26, 2010

I use this along with taurine and fish oil for PSVT and as a relaxer before sleep. It works because Mg tones down sympathetic nervous system. For me it worked as well as my Ca channel blocker.I chew the tablet with kefir or milk. Pleasant tasting but a little chaulky. I may try to crush it and mix in a smoothie.Note: 200 mg of Mg per tablet.

I take magnesium glycinate because my doctor says it is absorbed easier. It has improved my energy and mood. This is the best product for the price.

big kal mag
3 Star Review   By marny on Vitacost - Dec 5, 2009

the quality of the product is great, but the size of the tablet is way too big.. I know that there are people who will not take it, because of the size.. if there is a way to make them smaller, that would be a plus.

Very effective product
5 Star Review   By tudes on Vitacost - Oct 13, 2009

My chiropractor had recommended that I begin using a chelated magnesium supplement to help relieve severe muscle spasms in my legs. I ordered this product and after just 3 days of use the spasms were gone. I use 1 tablet daily to prevent their return.

Excellent Product
5 Star Review   By Augustsum on Vitacost - Aug 13, 2009

I loved Magnesium Glycinate. I noticed it has a significant effect on my mood. When I take it, I do not get depressed. When I stop taking it even for a few days, I can no longer control my bad moods. This product is very effective. I also tried Magnesium Citrate by NSI. That one is effective as well. I am very happy with Magnesium Glycinate! Fast delivery and reasonable cost. Please keep it up, Vitacost!

Large Horse Pills
3 Star Review   By RichardKR on Vitacost - Aug 13, 2009

This KAL Magnesium Glycinate pills are of an unbelievable large size. These are "horse pills." To make matter worst a large number of unnecessary filler ingredients include cellulose, stearic acid and magnesium stearate. I take 24 different vitamins, minerals and supplement. The bulk from fillers is disgusting. In the future I will search from products with the smallest size pill and smallest amount of fillers. The magnesium glycinate form is the best but is difficult to find. I may be stuck with these "horse pills.

Excellent Magnesium Source
5 Star Review   By yajme on Vitacost - Aug 13, 2009

A lot of the different sources of magnesium aren't absorbed very well and literally go right through you. In fact, magnesium is often used as a laxative for this very reason!Sources like magnesium oxide aren't very good either because absorption depends on the pH of your gut, creating somewhat unstable magnesium levels from day to day.As somebody dealing with an irritable bowel, I can't stress how great it is to find a product like this one. And as a sufferer of kidney stones, the calcium usually needed to help absorb magnesium into the body isn't a great idea for me to be taking. My doctor recommended this specific (and highly absorbable) form of magnesium to me to improve my mood and sleep. I've noticed improvements with my inner clock, and lately I've been sleeping during much more reasonable hours. Subsequently, I also feel like I have a bit more energy during the day.My doctor said I should notice improvements quite quickly, and although I was skeptical, it's hard to deny that in some aspects I have. It's also difficult to find this form of magnesium locally, and when I DO come across it, the stores are charging more than twice as much as Vitacost. All in all, I highly recommend it.

Bought it for one thing, cured others
4 Star Review   By Feelingbttr on Vitacost - Aug 13, 2009

I bought this for balancing blood sugar, which it does fine. I have then noticed an overall better feeling and mood lifter and I sleep better and longer. It might have cured my sleep apnea, but I'm not sure. I think it has helped several other little things, but I am waiting to report on those.
