I think I'm in love.
5 Star Review   By ArmsOfWillow on Vitacost - Apr 10, 2013

This has been the easiest period i've ever experienced in my entire life thanks to the Diva. This was my first experience with a menstrual cup and I will NEVER go back to tampons. It took a little while to figure out how often I needed to empty it and the best fold for my body but it only took me about 3 days to get the hang of it. Using this took less time than changing a tampon and for me only has to be emptied every 8 hours or so. It is a higher investment in the beginning but in the end it was soo worth it. If this cup isn't the right length or shape for you don't give up on cups all together, there about 20 other brands out there.

Great product
4 Star Review   By Farmgirl29 on Vitacost - Apr 4, 2013

This product takes a little while to get used to since it is not the same as conventional tampons/pads. But being outside most of the day without a toilet facility makes it difficult to use tampons during that time of the month. The diva cup has worked great! Most people think that it is messy and gross, but it is completely the opposite. Easy to use, and highly recommended!

i love how much it will save on tampons and the amount of waste it keeps out of the trash. it does help to look up youtube videos, but it will take a little bit of time to find what works best for you. it can be messy but if that doesn't bother you, this is a great product.

difficult to use
3 Star Review   By sweetbee617 on Vitacost - Feb 26, 2013

My personal experience with the Divacup so far is so-so. I used it for the first time last week and It took some time to try to get it in. I am unusually tight down there so this is probably just me that it's so difficult to use because judging from other reviews ladies seem to love this thing. I wanted it mostly so I wouldn't have to produce so much waste from my menstrual cycle. I'm hoping I will get used to this over time.

Good.. little messy
4 Star Review   By dumples4ever on Vitacost - Feb 26, 2013

I love the concept of the Diva Cup: stop throwing away all those soggy tampons and pads and replace it with this re-usable cup. It's easy to insert and can be left in longer than a pad or tampon, which is great. I like it and will continue to use it, but it has a few draw-backs you should know about.1. It's messy. It's not a big deal if you're at home and able to wash your hands and use the wash every time, but it seems like a hassle to use in a public rest room. I will probably use this at home and still use tampons when I travel.2. Maybe I haven't mastered the art of taking it out properly, but I noticed when I had s*x a day or two after using the cup that I was pretty sore.

Good, but not the right one for me
4 Star Review   By Betterways on Vitacost - Feb 26, 2013

I find it a bit painful to insert and very painful to remove when you can't fold it to quite as small a point as you do to insert. And I don't need this capacity. If you go to livejournal there is a forum all about these cups including charts on sizes, width, softness and even one comparing the cups to the size tampon you use. There are many makers and models, btw. With some making up to a dozen models to suit different women's bodies. Melina for example.

Small learning curve but GREAT product
5 Star Review   By kdoss on Vitacost - Oct 19, 2012

It took some practice to get it right, but once you get it, this is a great product! I did end up having to trim half the stem off, but the stem is long so that you can trim it to your own custom length. I suggest not cutting the whole stem off right away. Cut it one notch at a time, insert it, and walk around to see if you feel it. If you do, cut one more notch off. That way, you get the right amount of stem for your body. I also recommend watching youtube videos to see the different folds. It makes a world of difference to actually SEE it. If the DivaCup didnt work for you, don't give up on cups! There are so many brands, and what works for one might not work for another. Good luck!

Differant!!
5 Star Review   By TJAZ on Vitacost - Oct 18, 2012

I am very excited about this, I can only imagine how much money it is going to save me in the long run. I can not use pads b/c of a skin condition, they give me very painful rashes. I use tampons but have TSS, and so i can not leave them in for very long and i can only use the lites which are getting very hard to find. I didn't not have a hard time wearing the Diva Cup, it will take a bit of getting used to but no throbbing or feeling like i need to take care of something down there. Thank you Vitacost for making available this wonderful product. Will get another one from you when the time comes.

Why didn't I buy this sooner
5 Star Review   By Luckylassy on Vitacost - May 9, 2012

Wonderful. I am 35, and have never been pregnant and bought the smaller size. I wish I had been using this earlier in life. No leaking either. And as distasteful as it might sound, the collected product can be used as needed for gardening - deterring pests. Why buy blood meal, when you make it yourself?

Diva cup is wonderful!
5 Star Review   By biologychica on Vitacost - May 3, 2012

A relative mentioned the Diva Cup to me years ago, but I was a little nervous about trying it out. After just one cycle using it, I am 100% sold! Yes, it takes a little longer to clean up, but for me it's only 2-3 times a day versus 4-6 tampons a day. Also, I figure I will recover my cost in a matter of months. Many women have used their Diva Cup for years! I'm glad I bought it and would encourage others to try it out.

Very practical
5 Star Review   By widakachic on Vitacost - May 1, 2012

I have used this for two months now. The first couple days were a bit challenging, getting used to it. It is definitely trickier to insert than a tampon. Once it is in, though, it is very comfortable and I hardly even notice it until I need a pit stop. Now it is really starting to pay for it's self. When in the back country I can't remember why I ever carried around all of that garbage. Great product!

DivaCup is the Best!
5 Star Review   By ddshops on Vitacost - Feb 10, 2012

I am a long term user having also used the original dark brown natural rubber DivaCup-the new version made of silicon is better made and much more durable. Here are some tips for users:*Less to no mess vs. others such as diaphram type (you know which one I mean!) which can open up a gap leading to a horrible menstrual mess on heavy flow days unless emptied more frequently and which with the diaphram type can lead to horrible messes not as possible with a DivaCup unless you go too many hours without emptying on heavy flow days! Tips:*On heavy days empty about every time you need to urinate to prevent overflow or about every hour or two.*I carry pre moistened towlettes, antibacterial gel and extra tissues when outside my home for easiest cleanup in work or public places where a more thorough hand washing of hands prior to and after emptying the cup (and the cup!) is or may not be possible and which is VERY important for medical reasons which we should all know! When in my home or in a bathroom with a private sink I wash the cup thoroughly with warm water and a non-scented soap.*Do not lie down or do activities involving anything that could cause you to squeeze or leak the contents out on heavy period days unless you have just emptied the cup within at least the last 20 minutes so that you may do so without chance of leakage.*DivaCup is the Best! Say Bye Bye to the chance of toxic shock syndrome, exposure to chlorine and other chemicals from tampons not to mention the little bits of them that can be left inside when removed before saturation and yes, even the costs since my 13+ years of use would have cost many times more than the cost of one reusable DivaCup! My old brown rubber one I used from 1997 to early 2011 when I decided due to what looked like hairline cracks and hardening of the rubber to order the new one which is so much improved!

Way better than tampons!
5 Star Review   By Tigerbug on Vitacost - Sep 16, 2011

The diva cup is much more sanitary than tampons (no pull string hanging down in your urine stream). You can reuse it for up to one year so there is much less waste than tampons. I like that you can wear it up to 12 hours. Lastly, I prefer the diva cup over tampons because cotton uses heavy amounts of herbicides and pesticides and it doesn't seem a good idea to put that material in such a sensitive, mucous membrane area. I would recommend this to every woman.

Most Amazing Thing Ever!
5 Star Review   By JodiSugar on Vitacost - Sep 9, 2011

I was terrified to try the Diva Cup at first but I read all the reviews and went for it. It's Changed my life!! It's the most amazing thing ever! I have used it for about a year now and have only had a leak with a very heavy flow. I can't feel it when it's in but am also aware of it when it starts to get full. It's incredible how it adapts to my body.-I can exercise with it.-It saves me money.-It makes my body feel cleaner and healthier. It's a no brainer. I love the Diva Cup. (I say this same thing to my friends all the time!)Take a risk on it and ENJOY!

money saver
5 Star Review   By kit2020 on Vitacost - Aug 9, 2011

The diva is great once you get you get used to it. Once in place it, it's not noticeable and there's no leaking. It needs to be positioned correctly though. You'll figure it out. This will save you a bunch of money in the long run. It's a lot like Instead if you've used that before. It's better than tampons. Better for you, your wallet & the environment. It's win win.

love it
5 Star Review   By laurenh on Vitacost - Jun 5, 2011

I save so much money every month by using the diva cup, I love it! It doesn't upset the moisture balance like tampons and you don't feel it at all. I have been using the diva cup for over 3 years now. I replace it every year, so i'm spending (26$ at vitacost) a year versus the $15 I was spending a month on tampons and pads!

It works just like it's supposed to, it took a couple days to get used to it but now that I'm used to it I love it. I've already recommended it to friends and family. If you have a heavy flow I suggest changing it a bit more often to avoid leaks.

Great product!
5 Star Review   By oklahomagirl85 on Vitacost - Apr 3, 2011

This is one of the best products I have ever used. Periods are no longer a big deal after using the diva cup. No leaking, no bulky pads, and it's super comfortable. It does take a few tries to get the hang of it, but it's definitely worth the effort. Vitacost has the best price I've found, I would recommend this product to everyone!

Feels like you're not on your period...
5 Star Review   By redfox08 on Vitacost - Jan 26, 2011

I originally had size 1, but now I just had a baby so am ordering size 2. These cups are AWESOME. I recommend them to all my girl friends. You can keep it in 12 hrs so it's safe overnight unlike a tampon because it doesn't collect bacteria like cotton, saves you money, alleviates cramps after the first couple uses (for me anyway), more sanitary, comfortable, and you don't have to change as often as with cotton products! Definitely worth every penny!

Doesn't work for me
3 Star Review   By ebgirl on Vitacost - Jan 19, 2011

I was so excited to get this after seeing the reviews, but I have a really heavy flow and this just doesn't work well for me. Once it fills up, it seems to overflow very quickly and I have to run to the restroom. Also, I sometimes sleep somewhat funky - on my stomach with my legs splayed out - and it must have come loose when I moved into that position. Either that or it just overflowed from filling up, but I had to run to the restroom in the morning because a lot of blood started flowing out at once. I guess someone with heavy flow can still use this if they empty it frequently, but it's quite messy and I'd rather use other methods on my heavy days. I'll definitely use it on lighter days though. Overall, it doesn't work like I had expected and it's not as convenient as I had hoped.

I'll never use a tampon again
5 Star Review   By katinka on Vitacost - Dec 20, 2010

I had several friends recommend this product to me, so I thought, ok, why not give it a try. At first I was terrified by its size! It was painful to put in, until I found the right insertion technique for me. Now its a breeze with close to no discomfort. It took about 2 cycles to get used to, but its so worth it. Now I can't even feel it when its in.I actually used a tampon the other day, and it felt disgusting and dry, unlike the Diva! Besides, tampons have bleach in them and do you really want to put a bleach rag in your body? The cons are that it CAN be messy to take out, until you get the hang of it. I recommend starting out by putting it in while in the shower, and heat the Diva up with hot water first to make it more malleable. Also, the first time I put it in I DID freak out because I thought I couldn't get it out. Be sure to follow the instructions not to put it up in too far. Don't worry though, its easy to get it out if you bear down with your pelvic floor (like kegels). All in all the pros outweigh the cons.

Life changing!
5 Star Review   By missformaggio on Vitacost - Dec 5, 2010

I've been using this for about 4 days and I have to say it's one of the most amazing products I have ever used. It was a little difficult at first - I guess like getting the hang of anything. But once I figured it out (took me one day) - no leaks, 12 hour protection and more comfortable than a tampon! Plus it will save me so much money on tampons and it's way better for the environment! Plus it is about 10 bucks cheaper on vitacost than any retail store i have seen it in! Thanks so much vitacost!

Best Product in Decades
5 Star Review   By veryluckygal on Vitacost - Oct 4, 2010

This has got to be one of my most satisfying discoveries this decade! The divacup has SO MANY ADVANTAGES - more comfortable than traditional tampons and pads, more effective as it does not leak, much much more environmentally friendly, and best of all - it SAVES MONEY as it is a one time investment, instead of $10 - $20 a month you spend on pads, tampons, etc. every single year. The most challenging part is learning how to use it. Once the first few day learning curve is over, you will love it as much as I do.Here are two tips.Tip #1 - when I first read the instructions and saw the design of the product, I was confused and thought I was suppose to cut the bottom tip off. Dont do that, as that will defintely make the product leak and useless. The tip is meant to be left as is, as the function is a sort of traction for your fingers to pull it out.Tip #2 - dont use it overnight during your first few days of using it. Get use to removing it first, before using it overnight. As you sleep, the cup will shift up. In the morning, a novice (like me) will panic if one cannot remove it easily. As I gained more experience, I realize it was very simple. All I had to do was move around for 15 - 20 minutes standing up, then the cup will shift down inside you, making removal as easy as when you put it in.If you are reading this, BUY IT! This is one of my most satisfying purhcases ever.

I feel cleaner, more efficient (barely any emergency bathroom breaks), and feel great that I'm helping the environment! I do wear cloth pads with this of excellent quality, but back to the cup I have converted one of my friends as well! Pls if you want to go green try this for at least a couple of months to get used to it!! Hope you like it! Very comfortable for me also, I almost forget I'm wearing it!

This is the way to go!

I've used this through 4 cycles and don't think I'll ever use a tampon or pad again! It took some getting used to when emptying, but I have it down (and feel a lot more connected to my lady parts!) The best thing is the amount of tampons and pads being kept from landfills!

Not just for hippies

This thing is THE S#$T! Ha! no more buying tampons, and it's actually weirdly fun to use (you can monitor how strong your flow is) and once you get the hang of how to put it in correctly, completely leak free. I'm a convert, no more yucky sanitary products!

Great alternative for health/env. conscious

It's a little difficult to get used to at first because putting it in can be slightly uncomfortable and cleaning it can be very gross. but if it came from my body, I figure "whatever I'll deal with it." Throwing out your stuff in the toilet is ideal, and buying the Diva cup cleanser is also a good purchase. I find that wearing a panty liner while wearing the Diva Cup is also helpful. Just treat it as if it were a tampon. And this is great for wearing at night!!

Save lots of money with this purchase.

So lets say that on avg you spend about $5 a pack on Tampons and pads and you need at least 2 packs every month. You spend $120 every year just on pads and tampons...lets not forget that you also have to buy pantyliners too so on avg we spend about $160/yr on feminine hygiene products. And here you are looking at the diva cup...very skeptically I imagine. Now you go all out and splurge on this...$20+shipping. You can find it for cheaper if you look hard enough. You have officially saved about $135/yr...and thats this year. You think...oh I should probably get some pantyliners which you will probably use the first 3 days of your cycle. Depending on the pack you get lets say you spend $5/pack and you use a pack every 3 months. Thats $20/yr for pantyliners and $20/diva cup +shipping. You have officially saved $105 this year with this purchase alone...I'd say that you deserve a pat on the back.I love my diva cup. Ever since I started using it about 2 yrs ago I've noticed that the length of my menstrual cycle shortened significantly. I don't feel like I am wearing a diaper :-) AND having my menstrual cycle doesn't completely (cramps) shut me off from the world...Do the right thing for yourself and the environment, get a diva cup and tell a friend about it too. Let them know how much money they'll be saving.

Who would have thought this little cup could be so convenient. I love it! I am a Diva cup convert. After I got used to putting it in, it was convenient, comfortable, and I didn't have to worry about racing to the bathroom to change a tampon or pad. Plus, I feel clean all day and menstruation is not as much of a burden. Fantastic product!
