Starting in June 2009, television’s going digital. Here are some options to help you be ready.
1) Buy a New HDTV
Most new HDTVs come with a built-in digital tuner, so if you’re already planning to replace your TV, or want to upgrade a second TV in your home, now would be a good time. If you’re concerned with seeing the highest-quality signal, this is the option for you.

2) Buy a Device with a Built-In Digital Tuner
Many DVRs and DVD Recorders come with DTV tuner functionality – by getting one of these devices, not only do you get DTV signals, but you can also record digital TV broadcasts.

3) Buy a Digital Converter Box
Want to keep your old TV and video equipment as-is? Then this is the way to go.
A digital converter box converts digital signals back to analog for viewing on traditional TVs. It’s the lowest-cost option, and there’s a government program in place to make it even more affordable.

4) Use Your PC as a TV
Save some space by buying a digital TV tuner for your PC and using your computer monitor as a screen! This option is great for dorm room living, people with small living spaces, or those who want to watch broadcast TV on-the-go. If you already have analog PCTV, you’ll need to upgrade, too.
