Definitive Technology Mythos ST SuperTower
4.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Sep 13, 2011

The Definitive Technology Mythos ST SuperTower is an advanced bookshelf outfitted with a built-in 300 watt amplifier and designed to serve as the main speaker of a high-powered 2-channel up to 7.1-channel home theater system. It’s enclosed in a sleek, polished black cabinet mounted on a polished granite base. More importantly, the SuperTower is one of two units in the entire Series that includes a built-in subwoofer. The 6” x 10” long-throw racetrack woofer is pressure-coupled to two 6” x 10” long-throw racetrack radiators. Added to that, there are also two 5-1/4” midrange drivers and a single 1” tweeter, giving the unit a total surface area and bass output greater than that of a conventional 15” subwoofer. Features Advanced Bookshelf Speaker Extruded Aluminum Enclosure Polished Black Cabinet Polished Granite Base Total Rigidity / Stability Proprietary Dampening Technologies Integrated Amplifier D’Apolloti Array Two HD Drivers One Dome Tweeter BDSS Technology One Racetrack ... PROS: (1) plenty of detail in the audio, subtle sounds all come through really well (2) ideal for action movies, everything sounds extremely realistic and present (3) can create a good soundscape with just the pair of speakers, not even requiring additional drivers (4) enough bass support that you dont need a separate subwoofer (5) built-in amps provide enough power output that an additional amp isnt needed ... CONS: (1) fairly narrow sweet spot where sound reaches its optimal balance

4 Star Review   Crutchfield.com

Crutchfield has collected 2 user reviews for this product with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. The most recent reviewer said, "Just wanted to post a response regarding your subwoofer reference. Multiple subwoofers are always more difficult to setup than a single sub. The reason why you have the differences in output even if you have the same setting on each speakers is because of your room and speaker placement. Unless your room is uniform and the distances are exactly the same behind and to the sides of the speakers, the subwoofers are going to perform differently. To set them up properly you should use an spl meter. I setup the subs on my BP7000SCS one at a time and a little louder than the rest of the system. "
