Strengths: Nice TV with lots of features. I like the internal subwoofer.
Weakness: Poor quality. The 40 inch picture tube is not ready for prime time. I have experienced inconsistent focus, convergence, and color across the screen from side to side. Not a true PIP

I have gone through two TV's and six repair visits for this TV over the last three months. It is still not fixed. My second TV blew its picture tube after three days. Plus, the worst part is that this 300 pound TV cannot be taken back for this issue; it must be serviced as a warranty item. Every new defective part found must be ordered from Sony with a two week turn around plus another week to schedule the next service visit. My repairman gouged my walls bringing in the replacement tube on my second TV, then he found another defective PC board in the TV. BEWARE THIS TV IS NOT A QUALITY SET! How can a supposed HD-ready TV have focus issues in standard TV mode?

Strengths: Excellent piece of equiptment, far better quality picture and sound than the 36" xbr 400 and 450. Stand much easier to assemble with no more than 15 pieces which includes the screws. SLEEK DESIGN!
Weakness: HEAVY over 300 lbs.
You get what you pay for and this tv will not dissappoint you. Picture detail is very sharp and clear, audio sounds better than previous xbr's, unit has a built in subwoofer. Tv performance will probably get better after it has been broken in. Picture is stunning.
