Mitsubishi WD-65638
2 Star Review  productwiki.com - Nov 2, 2010

The WD-65638 is a 65" television, part of Mitsubishis entry-level 638 Series of 3D DLPs to be released in 2010. Like the 60" and 73" 638-Series models, the WD-65638 supports 1080p video and comes with 3 HDMI inputs. A proprietary 6-color processor aims to produce more vivid, realistic colors than competing LCD panels. The WD-65638 is also significantly cheaper than LCD and plasma models in this size range. The television features four viewing modes, including a Game Mode intended to enhance image quality in HD games. The 738 and 838 series add an 82" option and major features like internet TV support and, in the 838 Series, a 16-speaker, 32W sound system. Features 65" DLP panel 3D support 1080p video 6-Color Processor 3 HDMI ports with CEC Composite (x2), component (x2) inputs Brilliant/Bright/Natural/Game modes ... PROS: (1) 3D Blu-ray looks completely realistic, handles fast-moving video without distortion (2) 2D Blu-ray gives an"3D fee" in some modes, very realistic rendering (3) Game Mode provides lag-free play with a number of gaming consoles ... CONS: (1) remote control lacks features, over-simplified and relies on the use of on-screen menus (2) no"long-lif" or energy saving setting to conserve bulb usage (3) doesnt decode HD broadcast fast enough, pixelation is visible with fast-moving subjects (4) SD conversion looks grainy, doesnt upscale gracefully
