Vizio SV470XVT
3.5 Star Review  cnet.com - Aug 21, 2008

THE GOOD: Inexpensive for a 120Hz LCD; highly accurate color; plenty of picture adjustments including extensive dejudder controls; comprehensive connectivity including four HDMI inputs and a PC input. THE BAD: Reproduces a lighter shade of black; some artifacts with dejudder processing; poor off-angle viewing; somewhat pedestrian design. THE BOTTOM LINE: The Vizio SV470XVT represents a viable alternative for LCD TV bargain hunters who want 120Hz processing.

3.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Jul 27, 2011

The Black Tie line of televisions marks the flagship offering by Vizio for 2008. These sets feature a 1080p native resolution, 120Hz processing, and motion compensation technology for smoother images. For more information refer to the full Vizio XVT Series report. Specs 1080p native resolution 6500:1 dynamic contrast ratio 5 ms response time (unconfirmed) 8-bit panel (unconfirmed) Inputs: HDMI x 4, Component x 2, Composite x 2, S-Video x 1, VGA x 1 ... PROS: (1) plenty of inputs of every type, wont find a situation where you need more (2) 120Hz mode is well implemented, makes sports look extremely smooth (3) no glare or reflection on the screen at all, can handle a room full of windows no problem (4) sound is well defined, can understand what everyone is saying fairly well (5) back ports are accessible from below, makes a lot of sense when you use a mounting bracket ... CONS: (1) an extended warranty is a must, frequent failures reported after the first year of use (2) 120Hz mode needs adjusting depending on what youre watching, doesnt look right when not watching sports

Vizio 47" wide screen LCD TV
5 Star Review

Strengths: Clarity, reliability, stereo sound, price.

I discovered the Vizio in Costco, but found it had been sold out. The Store MGR told me to contact Sear-Roebuck & Co.. I contacted the local Sear store TV Dept and found the sales person not interested in helping. I went to the store manager and asked her to help get the televison and I would pay full price, $1,450.00. The store manager had her tv department get the television into the store, then she personally isured that it would be delivered to my house and set up. Everything that she told me came true. The television works great, and I have NEVER seen better clarity, and the stereo sound is fantastic. When a high definition program is on, the television is the best TV I have ever seen. I now find that more than 80% programing in in high definition, with more assed daILY. ALL SPORTS SHOWS ARE IN HIGH DEFINITION AND STEREO SOUND...... I recommend that everyone get a VIZIO 47" high definition television, YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT....

5 Star Review

Strengths: Just as good as the Sony or Samsung models. If you're not a stickler for best-of-the-best, the Vizio will save you a lot of money!

Weakness: None that I've found so far. Make sure you have a DVD player that upconverts to 1080p.

Just as good as the Sony or Samsung models. If you're not a stickler for best-of-the-best, the Vizio will save you a lot of money! Google for SV470XVT and read the CNet review on it. It'll make you want to buy it. They mention the blacks not being as black as Sony or Samsung, but I can't tell. They're definitely not the light-black or gray that you see on some cheap models.
