Screen Problems
2 Star Review   By member strangebrew3 - May 7, 2009

Strengths: Great picture

Weakness: screen now has to warm up to be viewed without errors

After a year of pure enjoyment of owning this tv, the screen has now become defective and has a clouding effect which then turns into lines across the screen... It takes 45 minutes for the screen problems to correct itself after turning it on.

Great TV
5 Star Review

Strengths: Fantastic picture - the installer of the HD dish even told me that Sony had the best picture that he had seen of all the tvs he sees in his job.

Weakness: The sound quality is not very good.

Upon delivery, I used it with the old dish for a couple days before they came and switched me to the HD dish. The HD broadcasts are fantastic in clarity. Sports are great to watch - especially Golf where the scenery is often better than the game. The DVDs look great on the new tv. I have yet to try a BlueRay but I will one of these days. For sound, I hooked it up to my old receiver and now the sound is quite good (its a 10 year old receiver with 5.1 surround sound). This is the best TV I have ever had. One note - I am using HDMI cables for connecting my Blueray player and connecting the dish to the TV, so suggest get these for sure and switch to the HD satelitle or cable - it's worth it. Have Fun!

Excellent 46 inch option
5 Star Review   By member elgrullo420 - Feb 22, 2009

Strengths: great contrast ratio, great viewing angles, awsome quality HD at a good price. much better than other "affordalbe" 46" options

Weakness: it is kinda slow when you turn it on that's the only weakness i could think of

i'm seriously in love with this purchase this TV is great the audio is awsome and the picture quality is great too it is slower then the more expensive KDL lcd's like the V series and the XBR but if you can deal with waiting an extra second or two every once in a while this TV is an excellent option and you can get Sony quality HD for just a bit over 1000 bucks on a 46 inch,20,000-1 contrast i read all sorts of reviews and 120hz is a little over hyped this lcd gets the job done and 3 hdmi ports is enough for me i normally buy the cheapest thing available when it comes to technology but i am seriously glad i spent a little bit extra for Sony the picture quality is awsome

Poor Warranty Service
1 Star Review   By member krzymike - Feb 12, 2009

Strengths: Good TV while it worked

Weakness: Poor warranty service

Poor warranty service. After having the TV for 60 days, the TV has been dead for over two weeks and still waiting for Sony to repair or replace under warranty. I keep getting the run around and I am very displeased with their service. They say the part is still 30 days till delivery. My opinion is if they don't have the parts to fix it, they need to replace it with a like TV. I

Crisp picture, vibrant colors, great sound!
5 Star Review   By member slucker - Oct 31, 2008

Strengths: Crisp picture, vibrant colors, great sound! Easy to hang against the wall, low profile, and much lighter than its heavier predecessers.

Weakness: The power takes about 10 seconds to turn on, and switching between channels takes about 3 seconds.

This is our first large screen LCD TV, and we love it. Viewing a football game is like sitting in a box seat and viewing the game through a non-glare window. Last evening we saw an opera, and it felt as though we were sitting in expensive seats at Lincoln Center. We watch many more movies (both old and new) than previously. We highly recommend this product.

Sony strikes again!
5 Star Review   By member ninnyhammers - Aug 14, 2008

Strengths: Incredible picture, user-friendly remote

Weakness: Slow response time

This is one of two large screen televisions just purchased for my elderly parents and we cannot be more pleased! The colors on the Sony are vibrant. Non-HD pictures come through well, but the true magic can be seen with HD broadcasts. Fios brings the screen to life and even after a few weeks, we're still agog every time we turn on the set. The remote is very user-friendly, which is a huge plus in our household. The set takes a while to respond (especially when it's first turned on), but it doesn't take long to become accustomed to the fact. It's a minor irritant that can be quickly ignored. We all love our Sony and highly recommend the Bravia KDL-46S4100.

Good Quality Display
4 Star Review

Strengths: Quality, Good Picture, easy setup

Weakness: Must be 100 degrees on and around it; it will heat a small room up in no time

Very good quality, but make sure you have PLENTY of room not only for the size, but this dang thing runs HOT. Feels like well over 100 degrees near it, on it, front and back, so it will radiate into the room. We love it so far, but the heat was unexpected

BRAVIA KDL-46S4100
4 Star Review

Strengths: Picture, weight, easy set-up, easy to scroll through menu options, good speakers

Weakness: takes a few seconds to turn on.

I've heard alot of people say that this is the low end Bravia engine and you get what you pay for. I have a 32" Sony with the high end Bravia engine and can honestly say that from an HD perspective the picture is right on par. I think the difference is the high end has a few more bells and whistles and does a better job of making a non HD picture look better. also, the vivid setting picture option on the high end Bravia is brighter and a little clearer. But when comparing this television with other models at the same size and price I think Sony is better. Anyone that has between 1500 and 1600$ to spend I would recommend this television to them.

Great First LCD large screen TV
4 Star Review   By member Winnie2008 - Jul 4, 2008

Strengths: Crystal clear picture

Weakness: Not enough inputs ( 1 and 2 ) should be around 3.

This is the family's first LCD, large screen TV. It meets all of my expectations as a first-time viewer. It is very slim, very light, and easy to handle. It is user-friendly. My daughter enjoys playing her WII game on it. It is a perfect replacement for my 20", 9-year-old TV which was struck by lightning. I don't think that I would have readily purchased a new TV at this time had it not been for the storms. However, after careful review of systems, I chose the SONY LCD-HDTV and I am very pleased. Happily sitting with a mojito in hand watching the Wimbledon Tennis!

Sony is HORRIBLE! Great TV for 13 months, then picture went out!
1 Star Review   By member Anonymous - Jun 18, 2008

Strengths: Bright vibrant picture and crisp clear sound, but it did not last long!

Weakness: TV lasted 13 months, picture went out 1 month after warranty ended. Sony would not fix it and the cost to fix it was more than I paid for the TV.

TV lasted 13 months. First there was a dark vertical strip down the center of the TV and the right side would not refresh properly which made the right side blurry. then picture went out 1 month after warranty ended. Sony would not fix it and the cost to fix it was more than I paid for the TV. I have been a life-long Sony customer, but no longer!
