Sony Bravia KDL-46EX700
3 Star Review  cnet.com - Mar 17, 2010

THE GOOD: Innovative automatic power-off feature saves energy; extremely energy-efficient; matte screen works well in brighter rooms; relatively accurate color; solid Internet services including Netflix, Amazon Video, and numerous niche videos; snappy menu system. THE BAD: Reproduces lighter black levels; darker areas tinged blue; cannot adjust dejudder processing much; less-even screen uniformity; Netflix image quality worse than on other streaming devices. THE BOTTOM LINE: Sonys midrange edge-lit LED-based LCD is nothing special from an image quality standpoint, but its Internet video and eco-friendliness will attract a lot of buyers.

Sony BRAVIA 46EX700
2.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Mar 15, 2011

The 46EX700 is a 46" LCD HDTV from Sonys BRAVIA EX700 Series for 2010 and is an upgrade in size to the 40EX700. The TV is designed ultra-slim, at only 22mm thick, and has edge LED-backlighting for high dynamic contrast. It features a full HD resolution of 1080p and offers a MotionFlow 120Hz refresh rate for reduced motion blur. The TV also has integrated 10-watt stereo speakers with 5.1-channel output and Dolby Digital technology. The 46EX700 includes an Ambient Sensor which adjust the picture color based on the lighting conditions and has a Presence Sensor which turns off the picture when no one is in the room. It also offers Bravia Internet video for video streaming and USB, PC, ethernet, composite, HD component, and 4 HDMI ports. The TV is expected to be released in February 2010 and has a suggested retail price of $1700. Features/Specs 40" LCD Display Full HD ... PROS: (1) ambient light sensor is calibrated perfectly, doesnt make the display too dim or too bright (2) low power draw, exceeding Energy Star ratings (3) SD upconversion is well handled without the still-frame interpolation problems (4) matte finish on the screen effective in dealing with brightly lit rooms - no visible reflections of any kind ... CONS: (1) presence sensor tends to turn the TV off if viewers havent moved around enough to let it know theyre still there (2) requires a proprietary adapter to use wireless (3) contrast diminishes when viewed off-center (4) speakers create very weak and hollow sound, need to be turned way up to hear dialog properly
