Sharp 80" 3-D HD TV
This Sharp AQUOS LC-80LE857U 80" LED TV; 3-D TV has excellent picture, bright colors and it Internet ready with many installed Apps like Netflix, VuDu, Pandora, etc. You can "NOT" download other Apps that are not supplied by SHARP. It connects with a wire or wireless to Wi-Fi. It can be updated easily over a internet connection. It connects to your home network to stream music, videos and photos to the TV. You can even play them off a Thumb Drive. The "Diamond Cut" beveled silver frame is not a bright silver at all and actually looks brighter silver in the photos so don't let that stop you if you don't like the silver frame of the top of the line model.
The setup is easy but there are a lot of things you can do so you will need to educate yourself on the settings to get it correct. The menu is easy to step through and you can rename you HDMI inputs to see them when selecting attached devices like PS-3 and cable box.
TV fits perfectly on a 72" TV Stand/table. I used a Porter brand (W697-58) found at Ashley Furniture. No need to wall mount with the right table.
I really enjoy this SHARP TV and the Sharp Customer Service that comes with it. When you buy a TV you do NOT have to buy the extended warranty that day from the store. Go to SHARPUSA.COM afterwards and price out the factory warranty and you will see the prices are probably better than what you get in aftermarket. You can even check before you buy if you want. The 3 year plan for this model is about $219.00 which gives you four years of warranty.
--The Sharp remote only has codes for surround audio systems to run "Sharp" audio products so if you have a Bose, Sony etc. you will need to use that products remote. It does control other brand VCR's, DVD's and cable boxes.
Remote buttons are NOT backlit.
--The 3-D glasses are required to be worn to see the 3-D and they take batteries and only two pairs come with the TV. Other brand 3-D glasses wont work with this TV.
--The Audio is not "Thunderous" so expect to need a surround system of some kind.
