Samsung UN40C6500
3 Star Review  productwiki.com - Dec 1, 2011

The Samsung UN40C6500 is one of four 1080p LCD TVs released by Samsung in early 2010. All models in the 6500 Series feature a contemporary new design with LED edge lighting, but they maintain the same 1.2” depth of their 2009 predecessors. The UN40C6500 builds from the UN32C6500 with a larger 40” screen, but maintains its AutoMotion 120Hz refresh rate. Like its predecessor, the television has had its natural background blur removed for normal cable broadcasts and DVD content—which in turn renders a somewhat kitchy effect. Additionally, the expanded Internet@TV service now allows streaming content from Blockbuster, Netflix USA Today, and VUDU, as well as access to Twitter, Picassa, AccuWeather and Pandora. Ethernet is included, but WiFi is optional. Additional Information Additional features include a built-in digital tuner, connectivity to digital cameras and thumb-drives via USB, and ENERGY STAR 4.0 certification, which means extra-lower power consumption. Features ENERGY STAR 4.0 Samsung ... PROS: (1) Fantastic overall picture quality - full quality 1080p HD content is crisp, vivid and free of blurring/lag issues (2) Standard Definition content is surprisingly well-represented - appears clearer and more balanced than on many competitor HDTVs from Sony, Sharp, etc. (3) Built-in speakers perform fairly well - powerful volume handling is conducive to larger room placements with minimal risk of distortion/harsh treble frequencies (4) Netflix integration is excellent - direct router connectivity provides excellent full-quality streaming with minimal lag issues when using a suitable cable connection ... CONS: (1) Lack of analog output makes external amplifier support fairly difficult - users must purchase an analog converter and use the TVs optical output (2) Computer connectivity produced mixed-quality results - several users report distracting shadow issues amongst both text and image-based content (3) Side-mounted HDMI inputs are not conducive to users running a central A/V unit or wall-mounted design - may result in excessive cabling issues that are difficult to hide
