Panasonic TC-P54G10
4 Star Review  cnet.com - Sep 17, 2009

THE GOOD: Superb black-level performance with excellent shadow detail; highly accurate primary colors and grayscale in THX mode; great color saturation; uses less power than previous 1080p plasmas; VieraCast provides access to select Internet services. THE BAD: Less-accurate secondary colors of magenta and cyan; slight yellowish tinge and limited light output in THX mode; skimpy picture controls; still less efficient than comparable LCDs. THE BOTTOM LINE: Panasonics 54-inch TV-P54G10 offers superb image quality, plenty of features and great value, making a strong bid for your big-screen buck.

5 Star Review

Strengths: Beautiful Picture and Brilliant Colors. Fantastic Price.

Weakness: Sound Good but not great. THX mode a little dim.

After a month of research and reading reviews, CNET, PC etc. This was the #2 Plasma TV listed. The Pioneer was rated higher at three times the price and no longer in production. I found this on Sears Black Friday ad, just before Thanksgiving, listed for $1499.00. Plus, if I used my Sears Card, an extra 10% off. It is very easy to set up and the picture was stunning. Bright, clear, sharp, and perfect color. A little tweeking in the custom mode may be needed to suit your tastes. Sharp picture at any angle in my living room. My main reason for buying a plasma was good viewing angles. With all the TV's lined up along the wall in Sears you can tell the difference between Plasma and LCD by looking at a slight angle down the row. Ths plasmas are bright and sharp but the LCD's lose the quality picture very quickly at an angle. The THX mode is a little dim and dark, so I don't use that feature but the custom or standard is fine. No PIP but I rarely used it in my old DLP TV anyway. Using HDMI cables helps in the easy set up but you still have to hook up the sound via audio cables on your DVD even with the HDMI cable. That was not mentioned in the book but it shows it on the wiring diagram. After a month and a half, I am completely satisfied with this TV and have recommended it to everyone that asks. Bottom line is the LCD/LED is slim and stunning (but so is the price). I could have bought any TV but taking everything into consideration. This is the BEST.

5 Star Review   By Long Island on Buydig.com - Sep 20, 2009

Strengths: Beautiful picture; great colors and contrast. good speakers. Vierra link is cool.

Weakness: None that I can find.

I researched plasma vs. lcd for the last year. My viewing habits tend toward sports, and I thought the plasma would be the best fit. This tv is fantastic. I have it in a very brightly lit room (wall of windows) and the colors are rich and the contrast is perfect. The blacks are really dark, and the colors really pop. I have this tv in a pretty small room (sofas are 8 and 13 feet away - and the tv is large but works great). Even sitting 5 feet away - and 45 degrees off angle, the picture is sharp. I have it paired with a OPPO BDP-83 Blu-ray and all I can say is the picture with this superb Blu-ray player is spectacular. I would recommend this tv for everyone. The colors pop like lcd without the jaggies an lcd has. Bought this from BUYDIG.COM and they shipped regular shipping to Long Island in four days (they stated it would be 7-10). Shipper was great and assisted with checking the tv out before he left. Great service, quick delivery, perfect TV. I also paid $1,549 with no tax or shipping costs - so it was also a great price. A nirvana like internet purchase!!!
