DID NOT LAST
2 Star Review   By member PWYDD - Apr 10, 2010

Strengths: GOOD PRICE, PRETTY GOOD PICTURE, LOTS OF INPUTS, SHIPPED IN WELL CONSTRUCTED BOXES

Weakness: 1. NEVER GOT 100 REBATE 2. REMOTE WENT FIRST AT 2 YEARS. 3. SCREEN WENT AT ABOUT 3 YEARS, LEAVE IT ON FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS AND REPEATEDLY TURN ON AND OFF, THE SCREEN MAY WORK THEN

WITH THE LENGTH OF TIME THE REMOTE AND SCREEN LASTED I WISH I HAD DROPPED ANOTHER COUPLE OF HUNDRED ON A NAME BRAND AND IT HAD LASTED. WORKED WELL AS A MONITOR WHEN IT WORKED. SPEAKERS WERE OK, RARELY USED THEM AS I HAD A GOOD SPEAKER SYSTEM HOOKED UP TO COMPUTER.

Niko Electronics Sucks!
1 Star Review   By member ihateniko - Nov 7, 2007

Weakness: everything

Warning! Don't buy anything for Niko electronis. The Quality sucks and customer service is non-existent. The $100 rebate is a sham. I’m still waiting for my rebate after six months and keep getting the run around. David C

2 Star Review

Strengths: Picture, Price at the time

Weakness: Repairing is a nightmare!

The tuner went bad. By the response that I got from Niko, this is a know issue. I had to send it back to them for repair. That was a month ago. Every time I call I'm told next week. It seems a like the the company is a couple guys selling TVs out of their garage.

Nice TV but noticeable lip-sync problem
2 Star Review   By member xgfffgggg - Dec 1, 2006

Strengths: Price, video quality

Weakness: Slow response time (hence lip-sync problem?) No HDMI

No other reviewer seems to mention the lip-synch problem, and some people seem more sensitive to this than others, but the slow video processing, means the audio is fractionally ahead of the video. Once you notice this it can start to drive you crazy!

Strengths: Awsome for the price! Great picture!

Weakness: The Remote stinks!!

Remote stinks!! No remote codes available so I have to use 2 remotes. one for the TV and one to control HD Box. Other than the remote it's a really great TV

5 Star Review   By member nguyen27 - May 22, 2006

Strengths: Price, plenty of options.

Weakness: None yet.

I wish it has HDMI, but can't complain for the price I paid. The TV is great, specially when you connect the HD devices to it. I'm still struggle to find how the CC (Closed caption) doesn't work when I connect my Dish HD Receiver to the TV using components.

Liked it so much, I bought a second...
5 Star Review   By member ZombieStomper - Apr 17, 2006

Strengths: Exceptional Price, great picture

Weakness: No HDMI input, no HDTV tuner

Bought one after some initial research of reviews. None of the reviews had anything very negative, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Ordered for $849 from TigerDirect.com (w/ $100 rebate for an actual price of $749) and recieved 2 days later. Plugged it in, turned it on and was floored by the picture on DVDs, HD and computer input. Not a better size/picture for the price.

Great bright LCD TV for cheap price!
4 Star Review   By member myxp - Apr 13, 2006

Strengths: Bright view, great picture and sound quality, cheap price, many video/audio input/output

Weakness: remote control is not as sensitive as my old TV

Great product for the price. The screen is big and bright, which is swivelable to left or right. View angle is large. I watch basketball game from espn HD, the picture quality is fatastic. The sound quality is also very good, less than half the max volumn, you can get very large sound. Highly recommended if you have a budget limit!

Great TV for the price
4 Star Review   By member ncsh - Mar 31, 2006

Strengths: Easy to move around. I love the swivel stand. Great picture and works great with a computer too.

This TV has a swivel stand and it's great to have the flexibility to put it at different angles. The TV itself looks good. The picture is great. I haven't used it with my HD receiver yet but it has been used as a computer monitor and looks fantastic. I would recommend this TV especially for the price I paid.

You maybe get what you pay for
4 Star Review   By member mf1462 - Mar 25, 2006

Strengths: Price Form Factor (no big speakers) Nice HD picture of course

Weakness: Limited controls for video tuning settings Some what complicated PIP functionality Intermittent visual problem (read below)

This TV is definitley a great buy if you can get it for around 900 or less. The picture quality using the component input for digital cable is great. HD channels come through great and you will want to stop watching non HD channels. The VGA input is great for computers, though sometimes you have to toggle the vga button on and off a few times to get the full vga resoultion to come in. The DVI is excellent which I use with a HDMI adapter with an Upsampling DVD player. The speakers are never used so I am glad that they are very small. The problem that I am having though is somewhat of a major one. Randomly the TV will display green and pink specks in certain areas of the screen. This happens on all inputs and can be so bad as filling the black letterbox of a DVD completly green. After talking to NIKO support they said that we would have to ship it back and then they would diagnose the problem and then replace or fix the tv. This does seem like normal warranty practice, though it would be inconvienient to lose the tv for 2 or 3 weeks. I would think that the cheap build of the TV is the cause for this problem, but no other review I read mentioned this problem. If it werent for this problem the tv would easily be four stars or maybe even five considering the price. But when describing the problem to NIKO support they seemed like they had heard of the problem before. Hopefully I will get my replacement and be happy with the tv, until then I will just have to deal with the problem. Update: I sent the TV back for a replacement, and a replacement was sent back that week. The replacement that was sent back to me looked great but the stand was bent. They promptly sent me a replacement stand no questions asked. Im impressed with this tv and the way the company handled these issues.

Great VALUE
4 Star Review   By member toimfortes - Mar 10, 2006

Strengths: Many inputs, sound, price, picture

Weakness: No built in HDTV tuner

I bought this TV as a second unit to place in my bedroom, and although the picture does not compare to my other tv: a Samsung HPR4252 42" HDTV it is surprisingly good, especially given the fact it costs about 1/3 of the price. I was surprised at the number of inputs available for you to plug in all your gadgets: DVI, VGA, 2 Component Video, 4 s-video, and a few more standard video plugs. The TV is able to tune in to analog signals on channels 1-99 but nothing else, so you will need to get a cable box in order to take advantage of the HDTV features. The sounds is very nice and the TV is not very heavy, making it easy to mount on the wall. I am very happy with it so far.

Nice budget LCD TV
4 Star Review   By member PriceGabber9 - Mar 3, 2006

Strengths: Price, excellent with PC

Weakness: So-so with composite input, user manual is useless

Until the TV was hooked up and turned out, I did not expect much for what I paid. But I was nicely surprised. The picture is amazing with PC VGA input (can't test the dvi input, my laptop don't have one), color is great and it is so bright in my bedroom, I have to dim it down. The manual is useless, it does not tell you anything that you can't figure out. The support in the web site is again useless. So you are pretty much on your own if you have any question. Took me a while to figure out how to use external speakers/headphone without using the built-in speakers. I did not thought it was a big deal but the built-in turntable in the base is really nice, especially if you plan to use the base and not hanging it on the wall. It is heavier than I thought, about 50lbs, but much lighter than my old 27-in CRT it replaced. Viewing angle is great, definitely meets it's claim about 170 degree. My composite cable TV is just average, don't have a HD receiver to test. Overall, I am happy with my purchase so far. Only thing to watch out is the reliability, this company is just too new to have any reportable history. I figure I can take a risk at this price and upgrade in couple of years with newer technology.

Great 32" LCD TV (HDTV ready) for the price!
4 Star Review   By member jen05 - Mar 2, 2006

Strengths: Great shape and design, smooth and colorful picture quality, cheap price for a 32", sound quality is good

Weakness: Build-in speaker is not disabled when using outline speakers, a little slow response (22ms?)

Got this 32" LCD TV with build-in HDTV tuner for a great price. The overal feel and LCD quality are very good. The screen picture is smooth, colorful and bright. Friendly menu design for picture and sound. Multiple screen mode: for both 16:9 and 4:3. Sound quality is pretty good. But when I use outline speakers, the build-in speaker is not mute, which is not good for headphone users. Overall, this LCD TV is big with good quality, especially for the cheap price.

Strengths: Great price for a 32" LCD. Great quality for the price.

If you are on a budget this tv is a great deal for the price. The picture is very good along with the sound. There are a lot of imputs for pretty much anything you have.
