Shreds less pages over time.

Strengths: Decent value compared to other shredders in this price range. Nice cross cut really chews up the paper, offers respectable security. When new, this would shred as many as 10 pages at a time.

Weakness: Over time, this shredder is unable to shred as many pages as when new. Mine over-loads with as little as 4 pages now. I suspect it will fail soon. Some pages don't get cross cut as much as when new.

It would be nice if these thing would last a while longer. The cost per year life is too short. It seems the more one uses it, the shorter the life is.
One day someone will make one of these that really cuts up the paper and lasts. This is not that machine.

Great. Just Great

Strengths: Great design; great safety features; just does its job

Weakness: may clog if basket overflow

I used to purchase shredders from Staples which, I thought, gave you a great value. But no more!!! This shredder is a totally different product. Designed well and works well. Whatever happens, will never ever by another crappy product from Staples but stick to the products made by manufacturers that actually make shredders that are built to last.

This shredder is really great!

Strengths: 1. Shredding capabilities are all any home could need 2. A great shredder for a good price 3. Safety lockout 4. Shreds credit cards & CD's 5. Looks great. 6. Indicator lights to tell whats happening

Weakness: the bucket is made of a flimsy plastic that is hardly able to hold the heavy top

The perfect size for a home office. It has a convenient pull-out wastebasket, and it quietly shreds everything you feed it into confetti sized bits. Credit cards? - No problem. CDs? - Piece of cake!

fellowes cross cut or confetti shredder

Strengths: good value for money .... usually priced on sale around $75

Weakness: I am always a little leery of plastic gears grinding away in a plastic bushing

I do like this shredder. First of all security wise it is great because it cuts paper into shards. Secondly, it has useful features. One knock is the thickness of the plastic base on which the shredder head sits. It could have been thicker and therefore more stable. It is rated at 12 sheets at a time but try and put fewer in and you will have the unit last longer. Has a cd/dvd slot as well. Also...

Best Buy for the Price

Strengths: Quiet, efficient, large basket

Weakness: None that I can see

Looking for the best-reviewed shredder at the lowest price, we found and ordered this Fellowes model. We put the machine through its paces the whole day that we received it, and we found that it does everything that it's supposed to do, and does it well. It's quiet, can shred up to 12 sheets at a time as well as credit cards and CDs. The shredded pieces are more than small enough for security...
