Strengths: The player worked good
Weakness: The players screen cracks
The screen on the Philip's cracked from beng in cold weather for too long, or so philip's says. I contacted the people at philip's and they told me that there was nothing i could do, because the cold had cracked the screen.

Strengths: Intuitive interface to reach those rare non-playlisted items.
Weakness: Requires Media Center Will not copy over playlists Will not save portable playlists Only allows creation of one portable playlist Very few features for the price Does not copy over IDV3 tags
I am comparing this to my old ZEN 30GB which had significantly more features when it came to audio. I understand that this is a media player, but even IDV3 tags would not copy properly over to the machine (jpgs for album covers, lyrics, etc.). I am comparing this to my old ZEN 30GB which had significantly more features when it came to audio. I understand that this is a media player, but even IDV3 tags would not copy properly over to the machine (jpgs for album covers, lyrics, etc.).
I set up the device to only sync with a certain directory and playlists out of Media Player, and it still copied everything in the library EXCEPT the playlists. The portable playlist could not be modified once set (i.e., added to) and have those changes retained.
The boot process is exceptionally longer, less audio options, the shuffle doesn't work very well (user settings are lost), cannot have different configurations on the device (i.e., car settings, home settings)
The holding case for it is not secure if you want to use the device.
I got this machine because it was slicker and I wanted a better video display for my music (all my mp3's have graphics tags, etc.). Instead, that didn't work as planned. As the machine will only work with XP systems, it already has an expiration date. I certainly did not expect to sacrifice capabilities in upgrading.
But it plays songs, so I guess if you don't know any better, you'd give it a good rating.

Awesome portable media player
Strengths: Large screen, recording functionality and fine image quality
Weakness: Speaker is low, problem with images rotated by Windows picture and fax viewer
Overall this is a great product that has large LCD, good resolution and fine image quality. The most impressive part to me is its direct recording functionality. It has been my major portable media player since I bought it. I already used it to record quite a few TV programs and later play the chips on TV. It never failed me.I did observe a problem with displaying the images rotated by Windows...

Overall this is a great product that has large LCD, good resolution and fine image quality. The most impressive part to me is its direct recording functionality. It has been my major portable media player since I bought it. I already used it to record quite a few TV programs and later play the chips on TV. It never failed me.I did observe a problem with displaying the images rotated by Windows picture and fax viewer. Banding can be seen. However, use other image software may resolve the problem. Also, its speaker is too low to hear clearly in some cases. But it is okay to me as it is common in portable players. In summary, I am very satisfied with the product and strongly recommend it.

Sleek and Good Player
Strengths: Connection to TV,Size, format support and LCD Display
Weakness: Built-in speaker
This is a very good and cool multi-media player. Plus you can record TV shows with the built in timer to watch on the go. The unit comes with a complete set of accessories including a nifty case that holds the screen upright for viewing on an airplane tray.
The player is very easy to use with an easy menu for navigating.
The 30GB hard drive offers plenty of storage.
