2 Star Review   By member jabrwoky - Mar 3, 2007

Strengths: Good idea. Good price.

Weakness: Poor sound quality.

VERY poor FM reception. Wireless unit has nasty hum, as if not grounded properly. I returned the first unit because all components had this hum, the replacement unit only has the hum on the remote. I should know better than to go for cheap audio gear.

Sylvani HT6051 5.1 HTIB
4 Star Review   By member jamo888 - Jul 12, 2006

Strengths: 5.1 surround sound system, rear wireless, progressive scan and price point. Radio, CD, DVD

Weakness: 500 watts P.O.P., actual wattage total 76 watts. No input jack,

This product is a DVD progressive scan, CD, Radio combined, in has an actual output of 76 watts only. It does not compare to expensive 800 dollars HTIB units. You should not complain about this product, considering the price point on this unit, you are still ahead. It does not blow you away in terms of sound quality, but its pretty decent for that price. I would recommend this for a small room apartment. This a good value for your money,

Decent product for the price
4 Star Review   By member sarathyr - Jun 13, 2006

Strengths: Price, Video Quality, Wireless rear speaker

Weakness: Speaker Quality in general, Could have combined the amp with the DVD player and avoid a few wires

Looks good so far. For the price it is good. The video quality from the DVD player is better than the Samsung HTB600 that I had before. Much brighter picture. The speaker quality in general is okay. It is obvious for the price you pay. Overall I am satisfied

Not what I would call a HOME THEATER SYSTEM
1 Star Review   By member lancesstaub - Jun 12, 2006

Strengths: Sound is OK. DVD plays OK.

Weakness: NOT AUXILIARY INPUTS. Two cabinets - not necessary. Speaker connections in back of subwoofer.

I just bought this item at Buy.com in a black for $100 including shipping and still am not impressed. The electronics comes in two small cabinets that connect together. They are both so light you have to hold them when pushing the buttons. They should have been in one cabinet. All the speaker connections are done on the back of the subwoofer (why?). IT DOES NOT HAVE EVEN ONE AUXILIARY INPUT!!!! I have two other Home Theater Systems. I can connect all my sound inputs into them ... but not this one. It is a stand alone DVD/CD AM/FM Tuner. The sound is good but I cannot call it a Home Theater System. It is barely worth the price I paid for it. At twice the price here on Amazon, save your money!

Read Carefully... wireless rear speakER.
2 Star Review

Strengths: Wireless

Weakness: There's only one rear speaker, although yes, it is wireless.

For some reason, instead of having two seperate wireless rear speakers, like true 5.1, they are lumped together. The picture of this system is misleading because it looks like 4 small speakers and a center speaker... when in reality the 'stacked' speakers are actually just one speaker each. It's kindof hard to explain, but unless you want a wireless rear speaker (that's right, just one), then this probably isn't the system for you.
