Awesome!
5 Star Review   By Creep559 on Sony - Official Store - Jan 2, 2014

Love it! I actually got this for my pc since I DJ and play games. Hooked right up to my pc's sound card, even bought a $19 HDMI to VGA adapter to hook it up to one of my pc monitors. So many features and apps on it. Esp. love the Youtube account pair feature. Any video I watch on my pc with a single click of my mouse I can transfer the video to my Sony system. If it doesnt shake the walls and rattle the windows than its not for me, This system does it all. Go hard or go home! :D

Two Defective Units In A Row
1 Star Review   By BoHippian on Sony - Official Store - Nov 22, 2013

I am BEYOND frustrated & p****d off!! This is the second system I have received in two weeks, and the second one to go back. When I received the first one, I took the instruction booklet & quick start guide out first, read it, and made sure I hooked up & set up everything to the letter. (I read and follow the instructions for everything I buy, I'm just like that.) Anyway, after doing everything EXACTLY the way I was supposed to, the problems began immediately. First of all, the quick start guide said that after everything is hooked up, plugged in, and turned on, that it should show the "Easy Initial Settings" on the TV screen- which it did not. Instead, it showed a 480p resolution of the Home Menu. Of course the 480p looked absolutely cheap and horrible in it's square box presentation on my always beautiful 1080p wide screen Vizio 3D TV. I also have a Sony PS3 connected to my TV & I noticed that the Home Menu on this system is almost exactly the same as the PS3, except that the PS3 presents itself in all it's vivid, colorful, 1080p glory! So after I was unable to complete the "Easy Initial Settings", I decided to follow the step-by-step instructions in the Operating Instructions book starting on page 45 (Settings and Adjustments>Using the Setup Display). Now for the final & BIG problem- after doing the [Network Update], I went on to [Screen Settings] and started that process of the setup. When I got to the [Output Video Resolution] step, the resolution was indeed set at 480p. No problem, I'll just set it at "Auto" (as suggested), or at 1080p. Easy, right? Problem solved! (or so I thought) Well, this was not to be- EVER!! After reading the Troubleshooting Guide in the booklet & on the Sony Support Website, and chatting with a Sony Tech online, and trying everything that was suggested, I just could not get the resolution to set at "Auto" or 1080p. Or, at anything BUT 480p for that matter. It was like it was stuck in 480p! So, after spending 75 mins on the phone with a Sony Tech and doing everything he told me to, he determined that the unit was defective. I decided I would exchange this unit for another one of the same model, as I figured it was just bad luck on my part that I received a bad one. Couldn't happen twice......... Oh yes it could!!! The new replacement arrived yesterday (about a week later), I set it up today, and guess what? That's right- THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!! So this time I called Vizio, thinking maybe there was something wrong with my TV. I have a PS3 (which plays 3D movies), a Vizio BluRay/3D player, an Xbox, and a DVR from my cable company all connected to my Vizio 3D TV. And they all work fine and present themselves beautifully in their respective 1080p and/or 3D format on my TV. I told the Vizio Tech that I even bought four new AmazonBasics High Speed HDMI Cables that support Ethernet, 3D, and Audio Return, to replace my older ones for all my devices plus this new Sony device. He had me try different cables in different HDMI ports with different devices (that was quite a process), just in case there might be a bad cable or port. All the cables and ports worked fine with all the devices, except the Sony Home Theater System- it just WILL NOT change from the 480p setting, it is STUCK there! No problems at all with my TV. So there you go- apparently TWO defective units! Unbelievable!!! I really love Sony & own many Sony products that have worked and still work perfectly. So for this to happen twice with the same Sony product was quite shocking & disappointing to say the least! I will continue to purchase Sony products because I believe them to be a highly reputable company with high quality products, but seriously Sony- what the h*ll happened here? A bad batch of systems coming off the production line? Or was I just the coincidentally unlucky dope who got two bad ones in a row? Needless to say, I am returning this one for a full refund. I am still looking to buy a home theater system and, honestly, it could be a Sony. But I will DEFINITELY NOT give this one another chance! I would be interested to know if anyone else encountered this problem- with a Vizio or another TV. And Sony- I hope you will get this issue fixed so that others won't have to go through the headaches I had to go through!

Disappointed
3 Star Review   By BGinFLAUSA on Sony - Official Store - Oct 29, 2013

This is a basic HT system. What's not obvious is that the speaker wires are integral with the speakers, so if there is not sufficient speaker wire for your layout, too bad. The unit does have good picture and sound quality. Love the football option which sets the surround sound like you are in a stadium. The software audio equalizer options are versatile for those that want to select options, though it does have a number of automatic options for audio equalization settings.. Unfortunately, after 45-days in the entertainment center - it failed with a DVD stuck inside. Just locks up when I plug it in. Worse yet Sony wants everything sent back; I could see that for an audio problem, but this.

So many apps!
5 Star Review   By trishk on Sony - Official Store - Sep 23, 2013

Overall this is an excellent system for the price. My only complaint is that I consider the volume to be a little too conservative when I am watching television. The volume goes a lot higher when I am watching a DVD or blu-ray. The app choices are like Christmas, although some of the apps are pretty pricey. I may actually be able to eliminate some of my expensive cable services.

Awesome sound system
5 Star Review   By shamol on Sony - Official Store - Sep 18, 2013

Bass- Very deep bass. I tuned up only +2db and that is more than enough for me to shake my 16ft by 14ft room. Surround speaker sound quality is crystal clear and no way to hurt your years. But it has a negative issue and that is I can't hear enough untill I volume uo to 16. but after that it is awesome.

Was concerned about the many reviews about pre-wired speakers, but wires are more than long enough for normal set-ups. Sony should end the confusion by specifying the length in their specifications.

Great Buy
4 Star Review   By dvdgry on Sony - Official Store - Mar 24, 2013

I really like this system. The sound is good, I just wish i could adjust the Treble and Bass settings. Not sure if there is a way, but I have looked around all of the settings and didn't see an option. But other than that, I like that fact that its set up similar to a PS3, so that is a great plus. And the Apps installed are great also.
