My complaint with the old Yamaha was that you could not turn it on and off with my TV remote. This one I can turn off but not turn on. I would also like to adjust the sound from my TV remote. Do you have any suggestions on how to do that

Great Sound at a Reasonable Price
5 Star Review   By Rich Aubel on Adorama - Oct 2, 2013

My old surround sound system started developing a buzz at normal volumes and I like to listen to music DVD's at a volume that fills the room with sound. The Yamaha RX-V375 Receiver has excellent sound quality and both an automatic setup and manual adjustments for the speakers. I am completely satisfied with the sound quality after a very painless installation. The unit was on sale and as a result, my decision to buy it was a no brainer.

Excellent Performance, Excellent Value
4 Star Review   By Randy in LA on Adorama - Oct 2, 2013

This is an excellent entry-level AV receiver. Setup is simple and the sound equalization with the microphone could not be simpler. Don't expect heavy gauge speaker wire to fit the terminals very well. Unit does not up convert non-HD sources to HDMI output, so you must run separate component and/or composite cables to your monitor. Build quality is lightweight but the overall performance of this receiver is outstanding. Shares some specs with more expensive receivers in the Yamaha family.

It is a great practical receiver. Would have been nice to have a printed owners manual come with the unit. There is a problem with AM reception in my area but the Yamaha does OK if the antenna is positioned just right.

good value for budget home theater
4 Star Review   By The Home Theater Hermit on Adorama - Aug 20, 2013

I use the Yamaha RX-V375 receiver for home theater use with a 5.1 speaker setup, in conjunction with a Blu-ray player and moderately sized LCD TV in a small living room. The power output is adequate for small listening rooms or an apartment. It can drive moderately efficient speakers loud enough for my listening tastes. I only rarely use the receiver for music via FM broadcast or CD. Yamaha's YPAO allows for easy surround sound speaker calibration. On the two occasions I've used it, YPAO took less than the three minutes Yamaha says it would take. I really missed not being provided with a printed manual, although I understand the need to conserve resources when the manual is 84 pages long. I printed the manual myself and enclosed it in a ringed binder. I see that Yamaha informed another customer in the reviews section that a printed manual could be provided at no charge upon request. My other 'con' is that the wire connections for the center and surround speakers can take only 18-gauge wire or smaller, while the front connections can take at least 16-gauge along with accepting banana plugs. I really wish that ALL of the connections would accept at least 16-gauge AND banana plugs. The RX-V375 supports either 8 ohm or 4 ohm (at the 6 ohm setting) speakers, but not a mix of the two - all front, center, and surround speakers must be the same rated impedance. This somewhat limits speaker choices if the user likes to mix and match like I did, but it's a minor quibble and I found a suitable compromise that I'm happy with. Overall, I'm very pleased with the Yamaha RX-V375 A/V receiver and it's a joy to use it every day.

Simple controls and great sound!
5 Star Review   By Tony on Adorama - Aug 14, 2013

What's great about this product is that it is very user friendly all the way around, especially the remote. The sound quality is great too. I've owned higher end receivers in the past that sounded fantastic, but were a pain to set up. Personally, the sound quality of the RX-V375 seems to carry more sound detail than my older (higher priced) recievers. Part of this obviously stems from the lossless sound sources being run via HDMI. Meanwhile, non-lossless audio sources seem to carry more audio detail too.

no regrets on this purchase
4 Star Review   By geochiguy on Adorama - Aug 12, 2013

i love the easy setup for the surround speakers. all you need is the mic that came with this receiver. you set it down to the place where you sit to watch tv and it goes from there. automatically calculating the distance of each speaker, the location, the height. it will even tell you if you have accidentally put in the wire the wrong way. WOW!
