Strengths: upconverting is great

Weakness: Will not convert up to 1080p

For those of you who have 1080p capable TV's and wanna use that feature, you won't want this receiver. I have an XBox 360 using and HDMI cable, as well as a PS3 also using an HDMI cable. if you want 1080p you are forced to use HDMI. If you use the HDMi cable for these it will only be shown in 1080i. It is still a kickass receiver overall.

Super Receiver-Home Theater Amplifier

Strengths: Unbelievable flexibility in inputs, outputs, sound fields, and decoders. Programmable remote control. Complex multi device control. Great sound.

Weakness: Complexity of the remote. Instructions in the manual.

What a great home theater receiver! It does everything I expected and performs beautifully. Setting up the unit will not be easy for the neophyte. It is an extremely flexible unit and even with my technical background took some time to master. Of course, that was half the fun - just learning how to accomplish everything. Although the manual is comprehensive, it took some time to understand all...

Great Product, Fast Service, Good Price

Strengths: Great Product, Great Price

Weakness: Could be packaged a little better, product has a few scratches on top from remotes sitting on the top inside the box.

The Receiver is great and has all the features that I was looking for. I would recommend buying any product here, all the items in the package seem to be in order and work well. My only concern is if the product is really new as advertised. There were comments related to the product that it was new and not refurbashed. But when I opened the reciever had scratches on the top side as if it had been...

Great bang for the buck

Strengths: easy setup for the speakers using the YPAO feature. I had a rxv-1200 and upgraded because I wanted to facilitate HDMI switching. I like this product line. Awesome sound for my needs.

Weakness: Remote for these producta have been limited in my opinion. I also had a rxv-1000 which had the best versatility of the ones I have purchased. Manual for HDMI setuo can improve

I would recommend this product to anyone who has 1 zone of interest for Home theater. It is limited for the second zone. So you would have to spend more cash to achieve this effect. Also the unit only upgrades to 420p and 420i. Once again you have to upgrade. Otherwise it will satisfy your needs well. If you want the manufacturer warranty you may have to purchase the item at retail store, or you...

Great all around receiver

Strengths: HDMI switching, up-conversion to HDMI output, great sound, on-screen interface, YPAO auto-calibration and many more.

Weakness: Getting the remote to control other devices, HDMI 1.1, manual could have been better.

When opening the box for the receiver I was amazed by the various output and inputs of this unit, you should have no problem connecting all your equipment to this unit. Setup and install with Yahama's YPAO was great. I tried to not make the same mistake as my friend in setting the speaker wires out of phase but the unit found one of the speakers was out of phase and it tells you which one and the...
