Onkkyo TX-SR875 Receiver

Strengths: Great Sound, fairly easy to set-up, I'm no technician by any means.

Weakness: Gets very hot even though it's well vented. I wouldn't leave it on all day unattended.

I've only had this receiver a few days and so far so good. The sound quality far surpasses my 15 year old receiver. You have sound that truly "surrounds" even with old speakers it's hard to tell one from the other. The sound is "just there." Strengths: Excellent features; it has everything that you want in a receiver

Weakness: Runs very hot, and very heavy

I purchased the Onkyo TX-SR875 because of its features, THX Ultra2, upconversion REON VX etc. I am very happy with this receiver, so far I have encountered no problems. A Brute!

Strengths: Tons of flexibility and LOADS of power!

Weakness: Can Double as a space heater!

Have been owned many Onkyo receivers over the last 20+ years and they have always offered a lot of bang for the buck! The TX-SR875 is no exception. I also looked at the comparable models from Yamaha and Denon. I wound up opting for the Onkyo for the sound quality, abundant power and especially the Reon upconverting for standard DVD's. I like the ability to plug in several HDMI devices like HD DVD...

AWESOME

Strengths: onboard Silicon Optix Reon HQV video processing chip IS AWESOME,1080 p any signal via the 3 hdmi connections

Weakness: VERY HOT AND HEAVY.

1ST THE bad of this receiver is that it gets extremely hot. Not to the point it will burn your house down but it will hurt your hand. To beat this i may buy a notebook cooler like i did for my playstation 3. Works like a gem. Now everything about this receiver is incredible this is my second Onkyo and it took me away from Yamaha which i used to swear by. IT sounds incredible and so crystal clear...
