3 Star Review

Strengths: pretty good sound, does an ok job of canceling out the sound from outside

Weakness: cord is way too long, makes ears hurt after wearing for a while, durability

i bought this for my long sit-downs in front of Photoshop and also school papers, but I soon found out that about halfway through (about an hour) the ears start to hurt. just recently one of the sides of the pieces that hold the actual speaker snapped off, so another trip to walmart, but for the price it's ok. this is definitely not a set to listen to your ipod with, the cord is far too long. i'm considering getting a total enclosure set for a little more cash, but they should be a lot more durable and won't push on my ears.

I love these cans!
5 Star Review   By member ryanmacguy - Jun 8, 2007

Strengths: Lightweight, superior sound quality, thick cord, comfortable, portable

Weakness: Really long cord, feel kind cheap...

Just got these at Target for $20, and I am amazed. They isolate enough noise so you don't have to turn the volume up all the way to hear your music. I bought these for use on the go with my iPod (I hate earbuds), and am very impressed. I'm gonna need a cord wrap though, cause the cord is really long. I read that they break kinda easy, but I'm careful with my stuff, so I doubt that that's gonna happen. Other than that, these are great cans for people who don't like shoving stuff down their ear canal.

Great Headphones
5 Star Review   By member stef_ios - Mar 19, 2007

Strengths: Amazing sound quality for all music. Plug-in to amplifier.

Weakness: They are awkward if you wear glasses with them (at least with plastic framed glasses). Chord is too long.

I use these headphones everyday and when my first pair broke, I purchased the same ones. Also, these are great in the studio and even just for everyday listening. They are affordable and I believe they are worth every penny.

2 Star Review   By member traviow - Feb 23, 2007

Strengths: Decent sound for the price

Weakness: Easy to break. Made my ears sore after wearing them for an hour or so.

I had two of these. Both of them broke in the same way. I guess it's good marketing to make things that don't last and must be replaced.

great for the price
4 Star Review

Strengths: good sound, long cord, good low range

Weakness: Both ear height adjustments have broken

These are great headphones for the price, I had to strech the head band out so that it was comfortable on my ears, the plastic did not seem like it would break. Once I steched out the head band the adjustments no longer broke (I glued them to fix them).

pretty good.
4 Star Review   By member glwinc - Mar 19, 2006

Strengths: soft earcups, included 1/4" adapter, great sound (in particular, great bass), flipping speakers, and even though it's over-the-head style, it looks good and doesn't pinch hair.

Weakness: highs are somewhat muffled.

good for the price, for sure. some complain about sound being too low with some devices -- i haven't noticed anything like this. the sound is always loud enough as far as i can tell. being closed-back, they do block a middling amount of external sound, but not all of it. you could still carry on a conversation with these on. the cord is nice and long if that's what you need (2 meters, i believe). also, the rubber coating on the cord is very high quality - it's thick enough to keep the cord from getting creased, and it also doesn't tangle easily (a BIG plus). yes, it's rubber, not plastic - a welcome improvement. these are not for the audiophile, as the highs are very muffled, and the bass isn't quite as rumbly as one might like. it seems like the strong point of these is the mid-low range. still, these do give great sound for the price. on a budget? you probably couldn't get a better deal than these.

Sony Headphones
2 Star Review   By member yophoto91 - Nov 5, 2005

Strengths: Price

Weakness: Too tight, Cord is too long

I read some of the reviews here before buying this and was expecting something different. The second I put these headphones on my head I knew they would be too tight to wear for more than a few minutes. Just not very comfortable. Also the cord is way too long making it annoying when you are carrying around your CD Player/ MP3 Player. I didn't really test the sound quality because they were too uncomfortable but during the short time I had them they did sound decent.

3 Star Review   By member Metropolis - Mar 30, 2005

Strengths: Not bulky, good sound

Weakness: Static, 4 foot cord is overkill

I have a small head, so these are a nice fit for me. The earcups are cushion but they are small. They hurt my ears too much if I wear my glasses and these headphones at the same time. I guess because the earcups press in hard and with your ears being pushed against your wire frame glasses, it a bit too much. Besides that, they are comfortable. If you have a larger head...meaning if you are a once size fits all hat person, you may want to pass on these. I have noticed straight out of the box, I get static if the cord is bent a certain way. My cheap headphones did not do this, I really hate cord static. The 4 foot cord is way too long for my needs which is for my mp3 player, so most of my cord is still tied up with the wire tie that it came with. For the price, these are OK if you are on a budget.

3 Star Review   By member capedrido - Jan 18, 2005

Strengths: Fairly comfortable. Priced fairly.

Weakness: Not for use with my MP3 player. Sound too low.

Got these as backup for my Muvo TX FM mp3 player and that was a mistake. No comparison with the earbuds that come with the player. Of course these are really monitor headphones and as such do an adequate job. The drivers are not sufficiently efficient enough and requires that I boost the volume considerably to get same output I receive with the earbuds.

3 Star Review   By member mooc0w - Jan 6, 2005

Strengths: +Overall Pleasing +Lower Price +Long Cord +includes headphone jack converter +Sound quality

Weakness: -Construction seems weak -Squeeses sides of head

Been looking for headphones beyond the cheap, foam-covered ones that will literaly deterorate while you're wearing them. I'm definetly pleased with this sony I came across. Comfortable for me to wear, and the cord length is always appreciated. Sound is clear, though this may not be enough base for some people. "Construction seems weak" is for one of the joints connecting the Earcup to the whole unit feeling as if it could come apart. being only one side, this is probably just my unit. If you want quite decent headphones, this is a good bet. If you're an audiophile, or never remove headphones from your cranium, perhaps you should look at a higher price range. ----Added 2/4/05 After using these headphones for a good deal of time, I've found they squeese the sides of my head, becomming quite uncomfortable at times. Perhaps its just the size of my own head, but I don't consider my noggin too big or small. Keep this in mind when purchasing.

Strengths: clear sounds, good size, convenient two jacks

Weakness: a little tight

I wanted a simple headphone with a reasonably good quality for audio and digital piano. it comes with adjustable jack so that you can use for any equipment. you can adjust length, but i wish it could with tightness as well. overall, it is a good buy-good sounds.

Strengths: Excelleant sound, long cord.

Weakness: Breaks by the earcup after about a years worth of daily use.

My wife and I have been using these headphones for about two years. We just ordered the third set from Amazon after the band broke by the earcup. At $15 once a year they are a great buy.
