Monster Beats By Dr. Dre Solo HD | Product Red
3 Star Review  productwiki.com - Mar 7, 2011

The Monster Beats By Dr. Dre Solo HD are a pair of on-ear headphones that features an inline microphone and integrated iPod controls. It builds from the original Beats Solo by adding only newly redesigned drivers for clearer, higher-quality audio. In all other ways, however, it is a near duplicate. It too features a compact design with full-size circular earcups that swivel and fit over the outer ear. And signature to the Solo HD is that it can also be used to take iPhone calls, as well as operate an iPod. Additional features include an adjustable band, a thick removable cable, and a gold-plated L-plug for hooking up to an audio source. Features On-Ear Headphones Inline Microphone iPod Controls Improved Audio Quality Full-Size Earcups Adjustable Band Removable Cable Gold-Plated L-Plug Comfortable Fit Muddy Audio Included Accessories Monster Headphone Cable Monster Clean Cloth Traveling Case ... PROS: (1) includes some nice accessories like a carrying case and cloth to keep the headphones looking sharp (2) folding design makes for easy on the go use (3) beautiful and unique aesthetic (4) ControlTalk cable (new feature on the Solo HD and not the Solo) - allows for use of the headphone to be used to pick up calls, features a button and built-in microphone, also acts as basic music controls (5) supra-aural seal allows for a good amount of noise isolation - good for you and those around you, makes it easier to hear details while maintaining a safe volume level ... CONS: (1) not as bassy as the beats - poor for those looking for an identical sound signature (2) carrying case is not the hard version included with the Beats (3) glossy finish shows off fingerprints quite easily (4) uses celebrity endorsement over pure technical merit to sell product

5 Star Review   Crutchfield.com

Crutchfield has collected 8 user reviews for this product with an average rating of 5.0 out of 5 stars. The most recent reviewer said, "Let's get one thing out of the way from the get-go, yes these headphones are overpriced, you are paying for the "Dre" name. However, if your willing to look passed the price, you won't regret it. Now that out of the way the Beats Dre Red Solo's are really good headphones. I am not a sound engineer or in the music industry, but I'm a big music fan and have been through many high end music systems whether it is for headphones, home entertainement, or vehicle sound systems. I also conduct a lot of test and researchs on many of these products. I had these headphones for about a week now and they have not sold me short. I played almost every genre of music on them; hip hop, rap, r&b, dance, oldies, rock, pop etc and they sound great in every genre. The headphones kick a lot of bass but are also fair and even toned when it comes to low's, mid's and high's. Also a lot of people are saying they are not "durable", I find them to be fine. They are not heavy duty and shouldn't be treated that way. If you are looking for a durable, fashionable, great output pair of headphones, these are your best bet. "
