The JVC DR-MV100B is a DVD/VCR video recorder combo from JVCs 2008 lineup and is an upgrade to the DR-MV79B. Unlike the tunerless DR-MV79B, the DVD recorder features built-in ATSC and NTSC tuners for recording high definition programs. It offers 1080p up-conversion for improved audio and video quality and is also capable of VHS-to-DVD dubbing. The DR-MV100B supports playback of DivX files and offers a variety of playback and recording formats including –R/RW, +R/RW and DVD-RAM discs. It features progressive scan output and has a variety of connectivity options including an HDMI output and a convenient front-panel DV input for hooking up a camcorder to the device. The video recorder has an MSRP of $250 and comes with a 1 year limited warranty. Easy to use, good features
4 Star Review   By member hazozita - Oct 6, 2008

Strengths: HDMI interface, ease of connecting, upscales VCR output over HDMI

Weakness: Manual, remote

Great choice if you're looking for a combo player. The DVD record feature is on a par with other recorders. What sets this one apart from the rest is that both the VCR and DVD are upscaled over the HDMI interface. Just one cable to connect this to your receiver! Upscaling is nice -- not at the quality of what an Oppo can do, but nice. Manual is not well written, but usable. The remote is also not the best out there. Great choice if you want to have a combo player to save space, and don't want to deal with all the problems of using RCA cables. Got it at Sams Club for a great price.
