This phone is definitely great for a small business. It is very reliable and the sound quality is very good. The handset is very comfortable for longer talk sessions. It is very useful for conference calling sessions. I have found it pretty useful and reliable inspite of all the below average reviews I have read before purchase. Great phone

Strengths: AC powered with battery backup. Buttons for everything. nice volume

Weakness: No caller-id

I was looking for a phone with a 2.5mm jack so I can use a headset for my customer service job. This phone fit most of my list of needs: backlighted screen, loud volume, buttons for headset;hold;mute, speed dial. The only thing it doesn't have is caller-id. I only have 1 line so I haven't used the 4 line, intercom and transfer functions. Panasonic makes good phones, better than those AT&T one...
