Clumsy people steer clear :)
4 Star Review   By TXMom2 on AT&T - Sep 5, 2013

Within a week of getting this phone, I dropped it flat directly on the screen. It immediately shattered and was completely unresponsive. I was able to get it fixed locally, but it was expensive because they had to replace the whole unit, which consisted of the LCD and screen. I didn't have a case on it, and unfortunately for this phone it's very hard to find any cases, but have one ordered to put on it. Hopefully that will help if I ever drop it again (which I know I will)! Overall, this phone is great. I went from an iPhone 4S. I know there is a lot of debate between iPhone and Android, but honestly I like what I've seen so far with Android. Obviously more customization, etc. which is nice. The only thing I don't like is the camera. It's just not very good quality. I'm a big picture taker and used my iPhone as my point-and-shoot camera that I took thousands of pictures with. This one just isn't comparable to that quality. Some pictures are good, but most are blurry and loud. So that to me is a disappointment. The battery is decent, but if you're a heavy user, you need at least one charge during the day. There's some good power saver features that help once it gets to a certain point. I really like the "quick note" feature which lets you "draw" and "write" on your screen and then save as a screen shot. Much easier for those times when you need to jot something down to save for later, and you can share it to your notes, etc. It's been a great feature for me. Overall I like this phone, the price was great. But just be cautious of dropping it. It will definitely break!

Best Phone I've Owned
5 Star Review   By AJfromMT on AT&T - Aug 2, 2013

I have to admit, I was a bit nervous when the guy at the establishment where I purchased the phone suggested an LG. They don't exactly have the most stellar reputation when it comes to phone build quality. However, after he went over the features I was in. The phone itself is fantastic. I've had zero problems with it since the day I took it home. It is faster, has a better display, and is more stable than my tablet. The battery life is great. However, I did give it 4 stars since it is integrated. I am a fan of being able to replace tired batteries. The reason I gave "Design" 4 stars is because of the very slick, angular design of the sides and back. A case is pretty much required to maintain grip. It seems like a very minor detail, but it becomes a big issue when it slips out of your hands and bounces down the stairs or off a curb. With a case, I find this phone very hard to beat. That being said, it is very durable... even with out a case.

Very good phone.
5 Star Review   By Gooberkh on AT&T - Jul 24, 2013

I've had my OG for a few weeks and really like it. I had a BBRY 9800 and this is even better. It is easy to set up, the resolution and sound is good, and I have had no major issues. With extended use on the internet, say 40 minutes, the back of the phone where the battery is housed does heat up at times. Some have complained of battery life issues, but it works well on a charge for a day of normal business use. The phone reception is good, wifi works well and is easy to set up, the camera is decent and fun to play with, and I have had no issues with 4G reception.

Nice stable phone, could have better camera
4 Star Review   By mg11 on AT&T - Jul 13, 2013

When it came time for my upgrade, I wanted something new. I was frustrated with HTC and was deciding between the Samsung GS3 and this phone, LG Optimus G. I chose the latter so I could be different. The display is beautiful- colors are vivid and crisp. I love the option to manually dim the brightness because its just too bright for my eyes. Its very easy to navigate through the phone and customize what you want. There isn't as much bloatware as there was on my HTC Inspire, so that's nice. It was easy to set up my Facebook, Instagram, and Yahoo. I don't have an issue with battery life because I always keep my screen brightness at the lowest for a majority of the day and I usually close all applications before bed. Right now as I write this, I'm running off 11% battery from the day before when I only charged it to 75%. It's just how you treat your phone. What I'm not a fan of is the camera. The picture quality isn't the best. I actually prefer my HTC camera. I use the phone's camera, Instagram's camera, and a different app's camera, and all are just... okay. The speakers aren't the best. Sometime the phone won't turn on for five to ten minutes and it'll end up restarting itself. The fact you can't take out the battery is really inconvienent. Typing on the keyboard can sometimes be a hassle because there's no arrows that can navigate you through what you've typed. Overall, it is a nice, basic phone and can get you through your life. (Right now I'm debating about trading in for a GS4 because I don't wan't to lose the easiness of this phone, but. Would like a much better camera, lol)

The Greatest!!!
5 Star Review   AT&T

I purchased this phone about a week ago and its perfect. It has a huge screen but not to big. The camera by far is better than any camera found on a phone. Which is a big thing for me i'm a picture fanatic. Its easy to use. When i saw the LG name i was kind of skeptical but i was very impressed. With the quality of there newer phones. I like the weight of the phone me personally I prefer a heavier phone because I'm rough on phones. Its just a great phone I'm in love!!!!

Amazing phone
5 Star Review   AT&T

I came from a Samsung Galaxy S2 and a brief stint with the Apple Iphone 4. I loved my S2 and desperately wanted the S4, but I couldn't afford it. I am extremely happy with this phone thus far. I love how smooth it is, how fast it is, and the features that it has to offer (plus more I'm sure I haven't figured out yet). It does everything almost flawlessly. Only thing I haven't liked thus far is that if you hit the back button from a text message, sometimes it will take you back to the home screen and sometimes it will take you back to the message list (which is generally where I want to go). Also one minor issue (which is simply operator error) is the standard keyboard. I've never been too good at typing on it, even on the S2. I had swiftkey x, which I got a while back and haven't put on this phone yet. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Maybe not over some of the other phones like the S4, Note 2, or HTC One X, but for the money it can't be beat by any "comparable" phone.

Probably the best performance I have experienced on a phone.
5 Star Review   By YourManAdrian on AT&T - Jun 3, 2013

This phone is by far one of the smoothest if not the smoothest phone on the market. It operates like a hot knife through butter. The most gorgeous screen I've encountered on a mobile device and the battery is second to none in it's capacity category. Also, what can you say about the design? Absolutely beautiful. And of course, blazing fast LTE :) The only bad thing about this phone is the camera. The 8MP shooter is far from the best. It's actually quite bad, at least for me. The front facing camera is EXTREMELY dark. If this phone had better cameras on it, it would be a perfect phone.

One of the best phones i every had
5 Star Review   By ChrisIPK on AT&T - May 6, 2013

I have had many phones, including iPhone 4s; I have to say that the LG Optimus G is over all better than the iPhone with speed, Quality and everything else. I seen the Samsung Galaxy 3-4 and I have not been so amazed on how much they do not hold up to a student’s life needs and the LG has come so far to support a Student needs. I gave my wife the LG Optimus and she loves it, She has been so happy since seeing me use mine and kept on asking for her own. I finally gave her the LG Optimus and she uses it nonstop.

I'm telling you.... this phone is Incredible ! !
5 Star Review   By rta4optimusg on AT&T - Apr 15, 2013

I can't express enough just how terrific the Optimus G is. I also don't understand the negative reviews on this phone. This phone can browse the web fast, has 4G LTE and 8MP camera. As of now, it has the latest Android OS. It's not a Bose system so don't bash if the speakers don't break your eardrums. It's made of glass (helllooo)... take care when handling. Go into an AT&T store and check out a demo...see for yourself. Check YouTube. ... jeese. .. I chose this phone based on its processing hardware. ..I have no regrets. And to be even more objective and unbiased. ...I don't think the Optimus G Pro is worth upgrading to, especially with the Galaxy S4 around. The Optimus G E970 is a Super Awesome Smartphone. .... get it ! !

Good device, easy to use, lacking on "phone" aspect.
4 Star Review   By Chimpi on AT&T - Apr 9, 2013

This smartphone is a beautiful device. The display is magnificent and the functionality of the device is great. As a phone with text messaging capability, however, I feel there's a little to be desired. People I send text messages to end up receiving double messages or broken messages. The phone quality is decent, but far less pristine than my older cell phone. With AT&T I experience no dropped calls, but the call quality is not as clear and focused as I would like a phone ("device") to be. It handles applications very well. The battery life is okay. I end up charging it every night before I go to bed. All-in-all an easy to use device with great features, but lacking a little in my opinion with call quality and text messaging reliability.

SUPER phone
5 Star Review   By Rolidas on AT&T - Apr 7, 2013

I've had this phone since the release date. The only thing I can say is that I really like this phone. And now it is even better after the 4.1.2 update. The battery life is better that most of the smartphones, screen is very sharp and bright. One of the best. I am glad it is not AMOLED that burns out after a while. Personally I think that the LG made a progress and built a very strong and powerful device. The camera takes very good pictures... sorry, too many good things to list... I like the LG user interface. It is so user friendly. The best. I tried most of the current ATT phones and this one is one of the best.

Great Phone
2 Star Review   By neuroh on AT&T - Apr 6, 2013

The phone has great hardware. However, the later then promised jelly bean update and horrible battery life ruin the experience for me. Five hours of semi intense use if you listen to music on your phone at work expect that to be even lower. It has gotten to the point I charge it twice a day, or three times a day.

Great!!...except for the speaker
4 Star Review   By Toetoe on AT&T - Mar 21, 2013

This phone is amazing. The quad-core cpu is really fast makes a big difference in loading apps, and just doing anything. The screen is pretty big and makes everything look great. And the 4glte is zippy! The installed sd memory is plenty big but I might upgrade. Battery life is good, but could be better. You can stretch it by turning off unnecessary things, but why. That's why there put on there, right? So I just plug as much as I can and am looking for a battery extender case. The only thing that I'm not crazy about is the speaker. No problems when I use my wired or bluetooth headset, or hold it to my ear.

Worth my money
4 Star Review   By heather71 on AT&T - Mar 9, 2013

I have used a lot of brands of phones, including the iPhone. I always got my phones for free, and never paid money for one, until this LG Optimus G. I traded my windows phone in for the LG. Best move I ever made. I love the design, the way it feels in my hand, and I did put a bulky case on it to protect it, so it is bigger than usual, but, that's ok. The only problem I have, is that after awhile of not using it, and I open the facebook app, and try to comment, it either freezes, or the letters won't type, and I have to reboot the phone all over again. That is my only complaint with this phone. If I had to choose a phone again, I would go back to the Optimus G. Maybe it could use an adroid update though. Thanks!

NIce phone but lacking some key features. Recommend? Maybe.
3 Star Review   By EyePasteMe on AT&T - Mar 7, 2013

If you want to use this for gaming and web surfing, great. But if you want to use it as a phone it has some major drawbacks. There is NO "drive mode" on this phone. Drive mode enables you to have the phone read you caller ID and text messages so you don't have to look at the phone when your driving. You also can't have it auto-respond to texts, so you can't notify anyone that you're driving and can't read your messages. Hands-free is the law in CA and I now have to search for an app that will handle these for me. The Galaxy S3 has drive mode and so do older LG flip phones, so it's been left off deliberately. Not such a smart move for a smart phone. Also, the notification light is around the power button (not on the front like most) and it only blinks once every 30 seconds, so be sure to keep staring...

Run circles around the S3
5 Star Review   By Mauriceproductions on AT&T - Mar 5, 2013

Love this phone. I am a systems engineer and I have not had a phone like this good in a long time. This phone is way better then the s3 and iphone, yes Samsung make good phones but I have to say I am impress with LG they have step there game up big time. quad core processor, 2gb of ram, micro SD slot that can support up to 64gb and a wonderful 5.7 inch screen what more can you want out of a phone. If I had to choose between the S3 and the Optimus G I would not think twice about it. Optimus G wins all the way. I even paid full price because I did not have a upgrade and my nokia 900 was garbage. Buy it you wont regret it. get the body glove or the Belkin case for it both are good. I prefer the body glove to protect my precious investment.

Outdated and Broken Features
1 Star Review   By Searchcitrus on AT&T - Mar 5, 2013

I purchased the LG Optimus G thinking it would be a really fast and powerful phone. This phone has an excellent screen and really fast processor. The sound on it was pretty good too, so I thought I would be happy. I was wrong. I switched from an HTC Inspire which just worked really well but it had gotten old. First problem with the Optimus is something that needs to be addressed. Whenever you put it near a magnet like coming out of your pouch, it switches into Car mode. Car mode cannot be uninstalled and there is no fix for this problem yet. Car mode also takes four button presses to actually answer the phone, so this is not only dumb but dangerous for driving. Next the ease of use is very bad. You cannot add multiple types of phone numbers or email addresses to a contact. You have to merge separate contacts into one for a person. When you merge a contact it creates duplicate name entries into that same contact. So for example if I have 4 number and email for you when I select you name from the list I will see your name at the top, then your name 4 more times, then a phone number or two, then logos for the the type of contact you have listed that don't do anything but take up space. Then more things that take up space. Power button is on the side and is constantly turning the phone on or off. Customization is difficult if you can even do it. Most things that I got used to on my HTC are not even possible on an LG. Overall if you need speed for a certain game or something this will do you good. However if you are always on it as a computer, you will be very disappointed since the most basic things are not possible. I am turning in this phone and getting an HTC again never to buy LG again.

Wait for the second generation of this phone
3 Star Review   By daboo on AT&T - Feb 28, 2013

I didn't like the stock messaging app, so i purchased ChompSMS but that app wasn't configured to the Optimus G and it couldn't use the quick compose function The autocorrect is not very good. It didn't change "Rjght" to "right" even though the words are one letter different and that letter is next to the correct one. I couldn't get the stock texting app to be silent and the 3rd party app to notify me. Either both would or neither would. Whenever I google a problem like "How do I put the battery percentage in the status bar of my Optimus G" it is very hard to find websites discussing my phone specifically. Bottom line: It's an impressive first foray into the iPhone fighters market, but I would recommend waiting to see how the market responds. If sales continue to lag, aftermarket options will remain limited. But I really hope it does well because the market could use another competitor. I have high hopes for a second generation of this phone.

Finally, a better Android
5 Star Review   By Carxprt on AT&T - Feb 21, 2013

Between my Motorola Atrix 2 and HTC Vivid, I've said many times 'I wish I could find a phone that combined the best features of both phones'. I think I finally did. My issies with the Vivid were although it had a great camera (the Atrix is only average) and many features worked well, I'm on my 3rd HTC Vivid for 'problems', most recently the people at HTC said they were working on but had no definate fix for...yet. Enough was enough. Yes, the quad core is a draw but mostly, I want a phone on which all the features just WORK! After 2 days and playing with it as much as I have, This could be the phone. I like the way it does what it does and have no major gripes..(yet). I will say that the power button being on one side while the volume is on the other getsin the way..you have a tendency to change the volume while you're locking screen or or turning the phone oiff. But if that's my only gripve so far, this could be the perfect phonefor those whoi aren't lazy Iphone users. This LG definately makes 'digging' the the Android layers a much more friendly task.

Good phone but it has its glitches
4 Star Review   By sijo on AT&T - Feb 6, 2013

This is a super fast phone in the Android world and has got excellent hardware but it has its glitches. I use speaker phone all the time for office use and I find it echoes most of the time.If you put any case available in market then the speaker phone echoes lot more. So I got rid of the case but this phone really needs a case because of its glossy make. The phone behaves weird at times and you need a restart to fix it. This can be because of the AT&T LTE network or the phone firmware. Considering Nexus 4 available in market you may like to consider that option before purchase. All together a much appreciated make by LG.

"THE BEAST" One of first 5 quad-phone on the market
5 Star Review   By SalseroGuru on AT&T - Jan 28, 2013

One of first 5 quad-phone on the market and one or the top ten phones 2012-2013. Yes I did my search and I love this phone. Originally I was planning on getting the S3 (dual-core 4.1.4 OS) but after searching and reading I decided for this phone and dont regreat it. Beats the S3 by far. Display has more resolution it is sharper, brilliant colors and images, This is the BEAST. Surfing the web, watching videos, making downloads, playing games it does it all in snap. You can throw anything any task to this phone and it will deliver amazingly fast no snags. Reception, using AT&T LTE is amazing there has not been a place I dont have reception or drop a call not once. The only minor drawback is still in IOS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich unlike its twin the NEXUS 4. I wish it it came upgraded to 4.1 or 4.2 Jelly Bean OS already. But there is hope, recently January 2013 South Korea models has already received update to Jelly bean 4.1 and lets hope it will make its way to America. Even on Ice Cream Sandwich it is faster more advanced than the S3 and the aging tiny little dual core I-phone 5. Best phone ever!!!!.

Get this phone!
5 Star Review   By StillChasing1 on AT&T - Jan 28, 2013

It's my first time reviewing a phone. I really love my LG Optimus G! I was deciding if I should get HTC One X, iPhone 5, or this. I'm glad I've made the right choice. I love the screen. I love how you able to watch a video while you send texts or perform other activities on the phone. It won't stop there how I love the phone. The camera is average, but it's fine. The battery seemed to last the whole day. Overall, the phone looks very stunning!

You get what you pay for....
5 Star Review   By missdiabolical71 on AT&T - Jan 24, 2013

I was originally hesitant about spending what I consider alot of money for a phone, as I usually only spend .99 or .01 for a phone, or free. But, I went out of my comfortzone and actually purchased a phone. I was NOT disappointed with it. It has quick note, which is a cheaper version of the galaxy note 2, which is ok, because I do not use quicknote alot, or if at all. The 12mp camera is just to die for. Battery use is the same, as with all androids, depending on your use, it might last all day, or it might not. Under normal use, mine DOES last all day, and I usually charge it at night. I like the quiet time feature, and the ECO battery performance feature, to optimize the phone without sacrificing battery life. I absolutely love this phone more than any kind of Galaxy S series, or the iPhone series. If you want the performance of the galaxy series, but don't have the money, I strongly recomment this phone! Absolutely love it!

An Amazing Device For A First-time Smartphone Owner
5 Star Review   By Beckala on AT&T - Jan 19, 2013

I spent a great deal of time researching smartphones and I am so glad I waited to purchase the LG Optimus G. It's an amazing phone, an excellent work tool and a powerful entertainment device. First, of course, as a phone it's fully functional. I have experienced excellent call quality and superb reliability. No one has complained once about failing to hear or understand me. I text a whole heck of a lot and for me, as a first-time smartphone owner, the existing keyboard works perfectly. I have disabled the auto-correct feature and enjoy rapid-fire texting. You'll hear about texting lag from some reviewers, but I have not experienced that. Finally, as an Android phone, I have been almost completely satisfied. Currently, Skype has not certified the device, so video chat is not possible. Beyond Skype, I have downloaded PayPal, Starbucks, Yelp, Tumblr, TuneIn Radio, and many other fun apps without a single system crash! As far as the cool features this phone has, there just isn't enough space to share all of them. Here are my favorites: voice-activated photo shutter, NFC Tag+, and fully-customizable icons. Just a few last words: the phone does not get hot, fingerprints are not an issue on the reverse of the phone (which some have commented on), and battery life is completely fine (of course, I have universal chargers at home and in the car). What can I say except "I love this phone!"

Best phone I've owned yet.
5 Star Review   By neon730r5 on AT&T - Jan 9, 2013

I bought this phone to try something new. I bounce around a lot and thus I've had Sony, Samsung, and HTC phones but this one is the best by far. I'm not one of those that has to have the latest and greatest but let me tell you this phone is one of the greatest. I use my phone primarily for texting, social media, web browsing and listening to music. The music players in the HTC One X and Samsung GSIII skipped, a lot. There is absolutely no skipping or stuttering whatsoever on this phone. If you listen to a lot music via a music player (not streaming) then you'll appreciate this. Plus there's an equalizer that can be customized unlike other phones. *cough* iPhone *cough* Battery life is actually pretty good. I expected it to be worse but I can usually get 12-16 hours with moderate usage. For better battery life, disable Fast Dormancy with an app called FD Toggle. No root is required. Otherwise the phone will be "awake" even when the screen is off. Whether this is a bug or just the way LG made it, I do not know. Don't buy this phone expecting Jelly Bean because LG has a horrible track record with updates and there is a possibility that we may never see it. This phone can already do a lot with ICS. Bottom line: Get one!

Best phone on the market right now!
5 Star Review   By qptheman on AT&T - Jan 7, 2013

After reviewing many sites and seeing recommendations from owners on XDA, I checked out the phone for a test drive at the AT&T store. While there were things I liked better about the HTC One X and One X+, I prefer the OG. The screen is beautiful. I used the Galaxy S2 (I777) prior to this phone and was sick of the amoled displays. LGs UI is pretty great, surprisingly! This phone is FAST! Battery life has been very good for me. Though the Android OS is using a high % of battery, the bottom line is that I'm still getting 4 hours of screen time per charge, with a lot of email and surfing every day. As for cons, I'll agree that the camera is not great, as has been described. Not a deal breaker at all for me, though a bit disappointing. Not sure why AT&T didn't follow the form factor of the Int'l version... Would be nice to have more case options. With the Gorilla glass front and back, the phone is slick - you need a case. Bottom line, having owned the phone for 3 weeks now, I'd make the same choice tomorrow. I can't put this phone down! Well done, LG!

The Best Phone Yet
5 Star Review   By Nand009 on AT&T - Dec 21, 2012

I am a heavy smartphone user, and I've had Blackberry, Samsung Captivate, Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket, Samsung Galaxy S III (International), and this is by far the best I have used, with a couple of minor reservations about it. It is super fast and has a great display. I was skeptical as to whether I would keep the phone since it has a sealed battery and I'm partial to phones with replaceable batteries. However, I've been pleasantly surprised at how well it has performed. I usually plug it in on my 25 minute commute home, and charge overnight as well. Each day, I still have about 45% still left. That's impressive. I could not often get my S3 to last that long, and the Skyrocket always required a battery swap before the end of the day. There are a couple of "cons" I have though. There are some bugs I've experienced in the email. They are relatively minor, and there are apps that can replace it if you are unhappy with it. The phone is wide. The "Back" button is on the left side of the phone (Samsung puts it on the right). I can't reach my thumb to the left side, so it's definitely a 2-handed phone, unless you are left handed. The phone has been updated in Asia to Jellybean. I'm somewhat concerned that the timetable to update it here may slip. If the device does not sell particularly well, AT&T does not update it, and quietly removes it from the sales website. I had an original Galaxy Tab from AT&T that never got updated, although every other carrier did. I also bought a HTC Jetstream that did not sell well, and updates have been abandoned. It's also not as "pocketable" as some other phones because of the square design. But in all, I would recommend this phone. It's a great device and certainly much more powerful and capable than an iPhone 5.

SO good that it's almost perfect.
5 Star Review   By Randy3121 on AT&T - Dec 15, 2012

This phone is one of the fastest phone out there. The quad core processor handles everything well from multi tasking to play graphics intensive games. The phone display is amazing and complements the phone's UI. Even with just android icecream sandwich, the phone interface has eats up a lot of battery, but I'm sure this will be fixed with a virtually no lag at all. If this phone updates to android jelly bean, this phone will probably run at the speed of light. This phone still has some issues to be fixed though. Android Os little update. In conclusion, the phones runs very well but the phone's potential is relying on updates. Although, updates shouldn't be a reason why you shouldn't but this phone because it still runs a lot better than other phones.

Gorgeous fast slim phone
5 Star Review   By solarpowerpanda on AT&T - Dec 4, 2012

Have had this phone for about 3 weeks now and I am loving it. So far: Pros: -Customizable icons and so much more (for example the camera icon on your phone can be changed to anything including a picture from your gallery) -Super fast and fluid, swiping through different pages is seamless with absolutely no lag. -You can blaze through everything. Using Spotify, browsing the internet and texting a friend - this phone handles multiple applications like a pro. - Colors on screen are crisp and sharp. -When receiving a message/missed call etc. the power button flashes a dark orange color which doesn't scream obnoxious - Camera - No shutter lag, takes pictures quickly, has various options including HDR, panorama and continuous shot (although I would say that the Iphone's HDR pictures are without a doubt of much better quality) -Just an overall beautiful sleek phone. It looks expensive and is very well made. Cons: -Battery isnt bad or good. Just average (I keep a spare charger on me at all times so I ain't even mad :p) - Music sounds pretty "tinny" and not very "rich and robust' without headphones. -Phone calls - sound isn't so great- with my old Droid - it sounded like I was next to the person when talking to them - with the LG Optimus G - more like talking in a tunnel on each end. -Not a fan of the power button being on the side of the phone, I always end up accidently pressing it instead of the volume rocker.

Incredibly quick, brilliant display, full of features
5 Star Review   By MrsCarla on AT&T - Dec 2, 2012

A lot of people are skeptical about the LG Optimus G because of LG's track record with android phones, but they NAILED it with the Optimus G. I've offered some feedback by category below. Performance: 1.4ghz quad core processor and 2gigs of RAM. This phone is faster than both the Galaxy S III and the HTC One X. On benchmark in the store I was seeing a total of about 9000, but at home I'm seeing around 7000 (still tops the results chart), and you feel every bit of its speed. I recommend turning Window Animation to .5 and Transition Animation to 2.0 (in Developer Options) so the phone's speed is all the more visible, although that's purely aesthetic. Apps get up and running quickly and the phone can multitask exceptionally. Display: The screen is huge, the display is bright, and the colors are sharp. Icons and text are crisp and clear at a variety of viewing zooms. HD Video playback doesn't feel like you're watching it on the phone because of the HD display and the huge size of the screen. Sound: No complaints. Good volume but not a lot of depth to the speaker output. It sounds about on par with what people expect from a phone's speaker, but worth mentioning that the volume is good enough to use in a public place (i.e. showing some friends YouTube videos in a crowded room). Camera: Front-facing camera isn't great, but offers some neat features like "Beauty Shot" which smoothens out complexion (so if you're naturally ugly...). The rear camera has some great features like HDR camera and a feature that let's you see the moments before the shutter closes, so if your subject moves at the last second and your picture turns out blurry, this feature might save a good picture. Most official reviews beat on the camera for being very on par, and they are right. Compared to my old HTC Inspire, this one offers a quicker shutter speed so when my dogs move at the last second I still capture a still shot that looks better than my Inspire's camera, but I don't seem to be able to pinch zoom and get better clarity after the shot is taken. Nothing wrong with it if you're just taking pictures to post on Facebook or keep some memories on your phone, which is what I use it for. As far as the video, it let's you add transparency to videos while you watch and run other apps, or zoom in and out of the video while you're watching. Calls: Oh yeah... phones still make phone calls these days, don't they? Call quality is clear and I haven't heard any complaints from people I'm talking to on the phone. Nuff said. Features/Misc: I like the stock messenger app a lot, as it offers some skins and themes for customization. You can fit more than five icons in the dock, customize the quick bar in the lock screen, and a number of other small customization features that let you make the phone your own. I really like that the homescreens rotate to landscape (if you want them to) when you hold your phone sideways. I upgraded from the HTC Inspire, which did not do this. Other than that, menu screens are organized nicely and the phone is very accessible. It actually feels a little light in my hand, so I'm not averse to putting a very protective case on it. Subtle things I really like is the vibrate feedback on the home, back, and setting button pushes (softer and more subtle than HTC), and the keyboard is perfectly sized on this nice big screen which allows for quick texting reliably. Final Thoughts: This phone is blazing fast and it's gorgeous to look at. The things it is lacking (camera, sound) really aren't lacking, they just aren't anything that will blow you away, but they certainly won't disappoint you. I highly recommend this phone

Great Phone
5 Star Review   By Luluu on AT&T - Dec 1, 2012

I got the iphone 5 the day it came out its a good looking phone but I felt like I got ripped off, 4in screen not much more than the 4s, its about as fast as the 4s. Basically has all the same qualities as the 4s, seems like I didn't get a different phone. Now here comes the LG optimus G with its 4.7in ips screen, In my eyes is the best screen on the market out of all phones. It is one of the most remarkable phones I have ever had, and I have had a lot of phones. Don't waste your money on an iphone 5, I suggest you get the LG optimus G, you will not regret it.

Amazingly fast. Best screen ever. Better than Nexus 4
5 Star Review   By darrick on AT&T - Nov 27, 2012

This is my first Android phone after 4 years of using iPhones. I'm very satisfied with the switch. There is so much that Androids can do out-of-the-box that an iPhone cannot without jailbreaking. I spent my first night with this phone trying out every widget and lock-screen modification I could find. Simply amazing. This phone is just like the Nexus 4 in terms of hardware, and it has LTE and an SD-card slot for up to 80GB of storage. Everything is amazingly fast. Switching between multiple tabs in Chrome while listening to podcasts with a video downloading in the background is not a problem for this phone. Also, AT&T's LTE service is faster than my cable internet connection from a well known ISP (rhymes with Flomcast). I stood in the AT&T store for almost 30 minutes trying out the Galaxy Note II and the Optimus G. I'm glad I went with the Optimus. The Note II is pretty cool, but I feel like the novelty of the stylus would wear off after a while, and it would be too big and clunky over the long term. The Optimus G is built to last. It is rock solid and fits in my hand just right. The whole thing is covered in Gorilla Glass, but it's still a bit slippery, so a protective cover is probably still a good idea. My only hangup is that Jelly Bean is not yet available on this phone. LG should be releasing it in December, so we'll see. Bottom line: Buy this phone.

Close to Perfection, With Minimal Flaws
5 Star Review   By Yoster on AT&T - Nov 27, 2012

Being a Samsung Galaxy S user for the past two years, I felt worried about choosing an LG phone when I'm so used to the comfort of knowing what to expect from a Samsung product. I spent more than an hour in the store using both the LG Optimus G and the Galaxy S3 in an attempt to make the perfect decision since I would probably carry this phone for the next two years. After spending a month with this phone I discovered that my choice has been perfect. The first thing you will notice about this phone is the incredible screen; a bright 4.7 inch display that is rich and deep with colors, which makes the galaxy S3 display look "fake" in a way due to the realistic colors of the LG screen. Thanks to 2GB of ram and a quad core CPU the phone is VERY fast, from gaming to web browsing you will not feel the phone lagging or slowing down at any point. You can open several webpages , play a game while answering a phone call and the phone will remain as smooth as the second you bought it. Battery life has been mind blowing, I have been getting a MINIMUM of 12 hours on days which I constantly use the phone. The look and feel of the phone are great thanks to the glass back and front which allow the phone to stand out and turn heads. Voice quality has been on par with what I expect from a modern phone and the data speed when it comes to LTE is amazing. This phone is a must buy for anyone who is interested in a smartphone that will remain strong and updated for the next two years.

Great super fast phone!
5 Star Review   By Sofie on AT&T - Nov 25, 2012

I was a little worried about getting this phone since it was only on ICS and I have heard bad things about LG’s update speeds. But so far those have proved to be non issues. This phone is faster than the Galaxy S 3 I had before it even though that was running Jelly Bean. Also the screen looks better than that supposed class leading AMOLED screen, this one has much better color clarity and looks better in general with text and pictures, even games. The phone is fast! Web browsing and scrolling is super quick no lag or refill when scrolling, and the phone is just snappy in general( I imagine it will be even quicker once it does get Jelly Bean too!.) Also the build quality is amazing feels durable and solid in my hands.

Excellent Android Superphone... Love it
5 Star Review   By Mountainguy on AT&T - Nov 25, 2012

I have had this phone for about a week now and I must say that I found this to be an excellent Android Superphone, I just love it. This phone is blazing fast and AT&T's 4G LTE gives great download speeds on this phone. Its bright and sharp display beats Galaxy S3's display any time. Playing games and watching videos on this is a great experience. I bought this phone hoping that the quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro processor and 2 GB RAM on this phone will ensure that this phone is competitive for another 2 years. I didn't like that LG has released this phone with Android 4.0, but I think almost every other phone did the same.

Winning.....
5 Star Review   By Carob on AT&T - Nov 23, 2012

I have had this phone since 11/21/12 and I absolutely love this phone. It is fast, responsive and very user friendly. The weight is not a problem at all as some have complained and the battery life is great. Visually this phones screen is in a class all of its own. The only thing that I do not like is that there are no really nice carrying cases for this phone but I'm sure that some will be available with this phone. Nice work LG

Great phone, but bad camera
3 Star Review   By eloy on AT&T - Nov 15, 2012

This phone has very high end specs, and it it super fast. The only downsides are the camera is really sub par, and there is no 3rd party support as far as accessory items. I notice hardly any lag at all, and the phone feels solid. It is some what odd to hold since it is a square and not curved like other phones but you should get used to it. I would not recommend this phone to anyone who likes to take pictures on a daily basis of family, kids, or anything really. If you don't care about pictures then this may be the phone for you.

great phone for a good price
4 Star Review   By Robobonobo on AT&T - Nov 15, 2012

I had the optimus g for a week and this phone is wonderful its quadcore processor will get you though the day with heavy multitasking and the ips + display is magnificent. Battery life is okay if you have eco mode on. While sound quality can be a issue for some I find when I use the custom eQ. The music seems to be a little distorted when adding bass but you can fix that by buying expensive headphones. On the other hand this is one amazing phone that lg has made.

It's an AMAZING phone.
5 Star Review   By phiman on AT&T - Nov 14, 2012

It's fast, smooth and gorgeous. It's well built phone and does not look cheap like other plastic covered phones. I've used it for a week and so far I couldn't find a single problem yet.

The Smart Phone for the Power User
5 Star Review   By BANIROOSTER on AT&T - Nov 13, 2012

Fast! Thats the first thing that comes to mind when I think of the o.G. Sexy and stylish. The Ips screen is exceptional! best screen I've ever seen. Better than the iphone 5??? well lets just say LG makes the "Retina" screen for the iphone 5. so, yes, better screen due to its larger size for surfing/texting/emails/facebook. The battery life is awesome, Today I went 16 hours without a charge. I had Pandora and 4g lte on all day! my last phone lasted about 5 hours doing the same thing. Movies are actually worth watching on this HD screen. and the fact that the at&t version can take up to 80 gigs of storage is exceptional(16 internal +64 micro sd card). Way to go LG--finally, you have a phone thats worth bragging about.

Excellent phone with minor setbacks
4 Star Review   By HelloPanda on AT&T - Nov 11, 2012

The phone is a powerhouse and will allow you to accomplish a lot in short time. However, I have found the phone freezes or does perform well from time to time but nothing a quick restart will not fix. The power down as well as the powering on and both very quick! Also, the phone does not seem to be custom friendly, meaning, that I cannot change how to swipe on the phone to unlock it.

Best phone on the market!!
5 Star Review   By pmpm on AT&T - Nov 9, 2012

Phone is screaming fast and I love the ability to text while I'm watching my video's! Finally a quad-core phone that is second to NONE! Benchmarked the optimus G against my previous phone and it wasn't even close! So I compared with some of my friends "new, latest and greatest" phone and same result! Definitely a winner AT&T and LG!!!

Very Nice Phone
5 Star Review   By GrnFrg22 on AT&T - Nov 7, 2012

I came from the Motorola Atrix 2. I was happy with that phone but wanted to upgrade some of the features, like the speed & screen. I am very happy with my purchase. I was debating between this one, the SG3, & the Sony Xperia TL. I end up with this one because I liked how the touch buttons where on the phone itself vs the real estate of the screen. I also liked it because it had options on the text messaging. The looks also appealed to me more than the other two. I didn't care for the feel of the SG3 & the thought of having more power under the engine vs the SG3 & the Xperia TL sent me to the LG Optimus G. I've only had it since 11/4/12 but so far I've had no problems with it. It is very smooth in transitioning from one screen to another & from one application to another. The games I had on my Atrix 2 play smoother & quicker on this phone due to the quad processor, which is very noticable. The texting on this phone is nice also, giving you options to change the message skin & input method. I also like that you can upload multiple pictures with a text vs the Atrix 2 I had that only let me upload one photo per text. The screen is very sharp & vibriant. The touch sensitivity is not too senstitive or unresponsive. I've taken a few pictures with the camera & it is very fast in taking them. Haven't taken any outdoor pictures but indoor have turned out okay. It is not by any means the best out there but I am satistified with the results & the camera is one of the major concerns for me. It comes with some options to edit before & after but if you are looking for a whole bunch, it might be a good idea to download one of the many available apps out there. The sound quality on this phone is amazing, at least to me. I also asked those that I've talked to how I sound & so far they say I sound fine. The speaker so far has sounded nice & I've not had any tinny issues or crackling. I've played some videos on it & games & the sound was good. I love the look & feel of the phone. The case is a bit slick & does like fingerprints but that didn't deter me from getting it because I always get a case for my phones, so that will remedy that problem. I also put screen protectors on them as well & the one I have on now, a Moshi, does not deminish the touch at all. It does dim the screen a bit but I don't mind. The size is just right for me. I have small hands & have had no problems with reaching any of the buttons or any part of the screen & it has not felt awkard at all when texting, etc. The phone isn't too heavy or light & feels like it wasn't built with cheap material. Overall this is a very nice phone. I look forward to getting to learn all the amazing features of this phone & using them. Once I've had it for a bit longer, I'll update this review. The only grip I have is the price. It would've been nice to have this offered a bit of a lower price but I do understand why it's priced at the price it is. I was able to get a little bit for my Atrix 2, so the phone was a little bit more affordable.

Do you want the best AT&T Android phone?
5 Star Review   By theo14461 on AT&T - Nov 6, 2012

Samsung's Galaxy S III is great, HTC's One X is good, not enough memory. In my opinion, LG hit the nail on the head with the Optimus G. This phone is fast!! The browser is second to none, smooth interface, awesome data speeds. Only one complaint, the notification light only blinks about every 25 seconds. Hopefully, this will be remedied with a future update fix. UI not as bad as the past LG's, has good build, beautiful display, call quality good.

Great Phone
5 Star Review   By DisappointedPerson on AT&T - Nov 5, 2012

Came from a Galaxy S3 and find this phone as fast if not faster. Build quality is excellent and sets it apart from the GS3. Very premium feeling finish but also very slick so a case is advised. Unfortunately case selection is limited at this time. Notification light around power button is unique however only flashes at 30 second intervals and not user configurable and therefore not very helpful.

much better than iPhone 5 - highly recommended for Pro usage
5 Star Review   By asiansrawesome on AT&T - Nov 4, 2012

Best part: SCREEN. Amazing natural colors. LG supplies IPS LCD screen to Apple. This phone has IPS screen, only it's much bigger. Aesthetic: A piece of gorilla glass (front, and back) with black crystals - very professional. No plastic used. Gun metal borders. Features: Comes with NFC, QSlide, Panaromic pictures, zoom in live 1080p capture, Gestures. Jelly Bean is to be upgraded next month (Before end of 2012). Jelly Bean will have better voice recognition ever. You can't beat Google navigation. Processing: 1.5GHz snapdragon pro is extremely powerful, combined with 2GB RAM, gives you super snappy performance. In short, if you want a true upgrade - this is the phone. Browsing web is a bliss on this phone due to faster rendering of web pages and awesome screen resolution. This is the best Android phone ever. Same specs as Google Nexus 4 (Due mid November). Made by LG in-house in korea (not in china like iPhone). Love it.

Going over to the darkside and it is sexy.
5 Star Review   By shaniya on AT&T - Nov 2, 2012

Took back my iPhone 5 today to pick up the LG high end smartphone. I only started using it but the display it magnificient, not just a .5 upgrade with the same old iOS. I'm new to Android so I can't elaborate on that but this phone handles the software fast. It is easy to navigate within the settings and applications. The camera does good to capture shots on the fly but use a real camera if you are going for awards. This phone is fast, fast, fast and the screen is big and wonderful to watch movie or play games which by the way can be downloaded to an SD card because this phone does have the expandable memory slot. I just wish LG would have thrown in some headphones like Apple and Samsung do with their phones. This phone is sexy black and slim and feels goo in the hand, not heavy at all while feeling pretty solid.
