what a monster amp!!!
5 Star Review

Strengths: ba boom ba boom...

Weakness: read review for details...

ok so i bought this amp in fall of '06 and it still surprises me, considering i have blown up dozens of speakers with it. you know how some people get. "oh yeah it aint no 2000 watts... let me hook up my subs they can take it." i love the look on their faces when the smoke comes rolling out the trunk. after 2 years of ownership i still love this amp. i am using it to power 2 dub (audiobahn) 10's rated for 2400 watts for the pair, and they love this amp. i was running 2 1100 watt xplods in a nice bandpass box for the first year, and they did great too. anyway to anyone who is having a problem with this amp "cutting out"... take off the bottom cover and look for some scorch marks on it... if there is any, just find the transistor leads that are touching the cover and bend them down towards the cicuit board a bit.... seems that the factory didnt trim the leads down enough. i had that problem with mine for the first few months of owning it but it wasnt a hard problem to fix at all. i have had mine rated, and its pushing close to 2200 watts on certain songs at 1 ohm, and still stable to the last note. this amp is WELL worth tthe price, get it and you wont be disappointed at all. keywords for people who are having this problem with this amp here. Awesome amp, amazing at price point, I want a second one :-)
5 Star Review   By member beatnik420 - Jun 20, 2007

Strengths: Handles 4ohm, 2ohm, and 1ohm loads. 900watts rms, 1800max, remote bass boost with adjustable frequency (40-120hz). I rarely ever need to use the boost though.

Weakness: Power terminals are not as nice as my eclipse amps and I reccomend using some high quality ring terminals especially with 4ga or larger power wire.

Have this amp running two 10" alpine type R subs (rated at 1500watts each). Awesome low pass crossover is adjustable from 50-150hz @ 24db/oct (twice as steep as most amps) which gets rid of muddiness. I have an alpine head unit that I love but it only has wimpy 2 volt outputs. So I picked up a 6 channel line driver (phoenex gold tantrum) and am now pumping a nice hot 10 volts into this baby. Gain is all the way down, and I almost never use the boost. however, the type R subs are power hungry monsters with their nearly 20 pound magnets. I currently have one of these amps pushing a pair of subs in a sealed box. when I move the system into my new car I'm going to get another kac-9152d and build a nice ported box and tune it way down at 28hz. The amp is power hungry as well, I have a 2.5 farad capacitor for this amp, an eclipse ea2000 (rears) and ea4000 (fr mids, fr highs). needless to say it sounds amazing as is.

Good solid amp
5 Star Review   By member danthesk8er - Nov 19, 2006

Strengths: Has tons of power. Almost too loud. Easy to install. Comes with a handy remote.

Weakness: None that I have found.

I have had this amp for about 3 months and it is amazing. It was easy to install. It's nice that the controls are hidden under the lower silver panel so no one can mess with them and they can't accidentally get changed on you. I have this power 1 sub. The amp is at about 1/3 power. It runs my Infinity Kappa 122.7w great. Excellent price for the power. Can't beat it

5 Star Review

Strengths: good clean power at 900rms

Weakness: none so far

powered my 2 12 in L5's no problem. can u say 160db.one hundred sixty decibels..yes it's so nice. the remote controller was well sized so i had no problem finding a mounting location and having the mono channel separated into two made it easier to wire up multiple subs with heavier guage wire. all in all this product performed better than i guessed as far as clear bass tones and output level

One of a kind Kenwood Amp
5 Star Review   By member flabzx - May 26, 2006

Strengths: 1 Ohm Stable, 900W @ 2 Ohms, Class D Circuitry

I Recently got this amp to power two 10" Alpine Type R subs @ 2 ohms. It pounds these subs like you would never belevie. At 900 RMS watts is more than enough to fullfil my needs. This kenwood amp is as good as Alpine MRD-M1005 amp in my other car. For the price, it less than Alpine amp. This is the best amplifier I've ever seen within this price range.

Excellent Buy
5 Star Review   By member mike96sc2 - Dec 24, 2005

Strengths: Good Price - 1 Ohm Stable, only $10 more than 9150D model.

Weakness: None Found Yet. Only possible weakness is so much power makes it easily to toast your subwoofer.

I just got this hooked up the other day and I have nothing but good things to say. 900 Watts RMS x 1 @ 2 Ohms Stable but it can be bridged down to 1750 RMS X1 @ 1 Ohm Stable. The remote control gain is nice too, it's nice to mount under the dash and use it as opposed manually playing with the gain on my head unit. I have some Kicker Comp's hooked up and it puts out far more power than I could ever need. It's better to spend the extra money and have more juice then spend a little more now in case I want to upgrade in the future I'll still have a heavy-duty amp. Only drawback is not going with a multi-channel setup to power my rear speakers but I have a 4 channel amp I can use to power all 4 of my speakers. Good Buy!

1 ohm Stable??
3 Star Review

Strengths: Nice look, easy install

Weakness: The 2 external fuses blow right away when running it at 1 ohm even though it says it 1 ohm stable. Don't run it at 1 ohm!

As long at you run it at 2 ohms, its not a bad amp. The price is definatly right and mounting is also pretty convenient because of the size. B-

Great Amp
5 Star Review   By member Hammer0159 - Sep 7, 2005

Strengths: Loud, Powerful, Clear Bass

Weakness: It's a little big, but not huge.

I hooked this amp up to two 12" audiobahns and they ripped. This is a great amplifier, with quite a bit of power. The bass boost remote is also a great little accessory that comes with this amp. I am very pleased with the quality and price of this amp.
