Great package.
4 Star Review   By member rweakley - Mar 12, 2006

Strengths: Looks good, sounds great. 2 ohm stable and bridgeable. Great price.

Weakness: Soft metallic finish.

HU: Kenwood KDC-MP928 w/5 volt pre-out, sub: Kicker CVR 8in dual 2 ohm voice coils, doors: Alpine type S 6.5in, Vehicle: GMC Sonoma. Ok, installed myself, no problems there. After install, noticed brown spot. I thought maybe I was careless and scratched it and boom: rust. Wrong, it was just some gunk. But while polishing out the "rust" I found out the chrome finish was not, in fact, chrome. The polish (Never Dull) acutally scratched and dulled the finish on this. So on to the sound. It sounds great when paired up to a good set of speakers. With my door speakers and sub (on a bridged channel) coming close to the RMS rating of the amp, it's a perfect match. I only have the gain turned up half way, and it gets plenty loud for me with my radio between 12 and 19 (out of a max 35). With the great price, you can't beat this amp.

4 Star Review   By member Amith4dat - Mar 13, 2005

Strengths: So far, reliable; 50wx4 (200wx2 bridged); pre-amp outputs; two separate adjustable settings for channels 1 & 2, and channels 3 & 4; built-in fan; lights up blue when on

Weakness: Unnecessarily, highly glossy finish susceptible to visible scratches and finger prints, bass boost is either on or off; need a flat head screwdriver to adjust the LPF, HPF, & gain

So far, so good. Originally had a Pioneer DEH-P6200 powering 4 after market speakers, which wasn't cutting it. Installed this and after adjusting the gain, makes the speakers sound amazing. It has a fan that's only audible when you're close to the amp, with the musc muted. The Audiobahn lettering and sides light up blue when on, but doesn't do much for me since it's under a seat. The drawbacks of this amp are not significant. The amp has a highly glossy finish, but comes with gloves to handle the amp. Though I don't want to use gloves when handling it, once it's installed, this isn't a problem. You need a flat head to make adjustments to the LPF, HPF, and gain, but I suspect most amps are like this. My biggest problem with it is that there's no knob to adjust the bass boost - either it's on or it isn't. You can't have the bass boost switched on using only speakers (too much distortion), which is unfortunate. I'll probably end up buying a sub and connecting two of the speakers to the head unit, two of the speakers to the amp, and bridging the two remaining channels on the amp, to power the sub. Overall: pretty, reliable, 50wx4 amp - recommended.
