Candidate Bio
Born in Easton, Pennsylvania, Jack was raised in Phillipsburg, New Jersey by his loving mother, Rose, and his extended family of aunts and uncles. Jack attended Saint Mary’s grammar school in Alpha, NJ. Throughout grammar and high school, Jack did odd jobs to help supplement the family’s income, while working at his uncle’s corner grocery store year-round. After graduating from Saint Phillips and James High School (Phillipsburg, NJ) in 1964, Jack received a state scholarship to Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. After graduation in 1968, Jack moved to New York City, where he became a pharmaceutical salesman, while attending night classes at B.M. Baruch College. In 1971, Jack earned his Masters Degree in Finance and applied that knowledge to his new job in New York’s commercial real estate and leasing business. Jack’s sustained success allowed him to invest in, and become a partner with, fashion designer Michael Kors in 1981. Over the ensuing 21 years, Jack built Michael Kors into an internationally renowned and famous design brand with sales throughout the United States, Europe, Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong. At its height, gross of all products reached $100 million with 85 employees from all walks of life. Besides his success in business, the most satisfying experience was to work alongside such a diverse group of individuals. In January of 2003, Jack sold his business interest in the company and immediately focused on pursuing his life-long desire to positively impact public policy and enter the political arena. Jack is divorced and has a wonderful son, Andrew (20), who attends Princeton University. Jack brings a lifetime of working with others, surmounting challenges, innovative thinking, and getting things done to this race.
