Netgear RangeMax 150 (WNR1000)
2 Star Review  productwiki.com - Dec 22, 2010

The Netgear RangeMax 150 is an entry-level wireless 802.11n router, or access point designed for users with basic network connectivity needs. This router is not certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance as a Draft 2.0 802.11n product due to its single-stream capabilities. Therefor the RangeMax 150 is limited to a maximum bandwidth of only 150 Mbps when used in 40MHz mode. This router is backwards compatible with 802.11b and 802.11g connections, and includes 4 Ethernet ports for wired connections. In terms of security, WPA and WPA2 are fully supported with 128-bit encryption. WiFi Protected Setup mode is also available for those with limited security knowledge. Other features include double firewall protection plus parental controls for limiting and monitoring internet usage. The Netgear RangeMax 150 can be configured and maintained through any modern web browser. Features 802.11b/g/n capabilities Single-stream radio 150 Mbps maximum bandwidth 4 wired Ethernet ports WEP/WPA/WPA2 128-bit encryption WiFi Protected ... PROS: (1) Included installation CD makes setup a breeze for those unfamiliar with routers (and running Windows Vista or XP 32-bit). (2) Reasonably priced for an N-150 router. (3) Impressive range even amongst wireless-n routers (~200 ft). ... CONS: (1) Often refuses to hand out DHCP addresses, requiring fixed IP addresses for every device. (2) The setup wizard doesnt work with Linux, Mac, 64-bit Windows or Windows 7 computers. (3) Automatic firmware updating doesnt work at all. (4) Not compatible with network extenders.

Not for me.
1 Star Review   By sg65 on HP - Apr 27, 2012

This apparently is the wrong router for my needs. I hope I can return it. I have opened it and plugged it in. Otherwise, it is in the same condition as when I received it. Please respond. ABG
