D-Link DWA-130
1.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Aug 30, 2011

The D-Link DWA-130 is a simple Wireless N USB adapter that works with Windows desktops and laptops. The transmitter utilizes 2.4GHz wireless technology to transmit to a wireless router or access point, and can in fact reach full Draft N speeds of up to 300Mbps. There are some things to keep an eye out for though. The DWA-130 is advertised as 100% Vista compliant, but many users have complained that the unit doesn’t work with 64-bit Vista. Plus, it has zero compatibility with Macintosh computers, and retails at a relatively expensive price. One user did manage to make his unit work with Windows 7 using the included Vista drivers though. Features Wireless N USB Adapter 802.11n Transmission Speeds 802.11g Backwards Compatibility Windows Compatibility Works with Windows 7 Doesn’t Work with 64-Bit Vista 1-Year Limited Warranty Specifications Standards: 802.11g/n Interface: USB 2.0/1.1 Frequency: 2.4GHz – 2.462GHz Security: WPA/WPA2 LEDs: Link, Activity Compatibility: ... PROS: (1) Good range and throughput performance, when it works (2) Includes a wired USB cradle that allows the user to place the adapter at an optimal location ... CONS: (1) Major driver issues with buyers reporting issues with operating systems ranging from Windows XP SP3, Vista 32/64 bit, to Windows 7 64-bit, beware (2) Must register the device on D-link in order to obtain drivers, which then does not work... (3) Adapter overheats, and drops connection, or throughput massively decreases (4) Issues with the provided driver installation disc, does not find the drivers on disc (5) Adapter does not work well even with D-Links own router products

D-Link Wireless USB 802.11n
5 Star Review   By member a247spy - Feb 21, 2008

Strengths: Easy set-up, great signal reception, portability to other computers.

Weakness: None noted.

I couldn't be more pleased with the wireless 802.11n performance. I don't do any gaming or graphics intensive work...just email, MySpace and internet surfing. I do listen to an internet radio service and the reception & playback can only be described as exceptional.
