5 Star Review   By member mhlohaus_1100025401 - Jan 18, 2005

Strengths: The Card is much faster that my dated 5700U. So far I've only tested the card with is Pacific Assult graphix maxed out and the game's running great. The Cards a bit $$$$ but worth it if you have the $

Weakness: If you don't have the extra power don't waist you $. Read other reveiws and some folks have complained about the card not working well on systems without enough juice.

So far so good and I'm sure this card will be as good the PNY 5700 Ultra I'm replacing. I'm running a MSI overclockers mother board with a P4 2.8 and a gig of PC3200 RAM. Everything is tweaked a bit so I'm bound to have issues here and there but so far I like PNY vid cards and they work very well in my system so I'm sticking with them. To date I've not had any system problems or SW conflicts created by the card or SW included. I'm an NVIDIA fan and this is my 5th card of from their lineup and I'm not disappointed

Strengths: Very fast, excellent graphics, TV-out, the list goes on.

PNY GeForce NVIDIA... It's the best. This product has so many great qualities about it the list would take forever. I do have to say that if anyone is interested in getting a video card, go with PNY. They just keep getting better and better. Read all the reviews out there about the product itself and the company. Nothing but good stuff.

5 Star Review   By member norman888 - Dec 12, 2004

Strengths: 3 year warranty, can be bought for good price, can be overclocked

Weakness: No additional software in package

PNY has a great card that can be overclocked out of the box. They can often be bought at a cheaper price than other brands without any loss of quality.

4 Star Review   By member nastasin - Nov 20, 2004

Strengths: Unbelievable graphics. Easy installation.

Weakness: First one I received was defective. The vga fan could be quieter.

The software installed easily. No problem with drivers. The picture is perfect. Runs Doom 3 (most intensive graphics to date) without any problems or flickering. Stock, the game runs at 96 fps. I understand that the PNY card allows the ability to overclock the vga card.

5 Star Review   By member daniwase - Oct 30, 2004

Strengths: Best price/performance ratio. Best video card at around $400

Weakness: No included games.

This card is nearly as good as the ultra series but for $100 - $200 less. If your not interested in getting a good software bundle this card is a good way to save money. Although the PNY is one of the lower priced 6800 gt's, it's still as good as the other higher priced ones(Evga, Chaintech, XFX, etc).

5 Star Review   By member SCOTTOSIS - Oct 22, 2004

Strengths: very fast, great image quality, even at high AA and AF settings

Weakness: absolutely none, especially on a fast proc

I have an old barton 3200+ and this thing smokes! (a faster proc will really allow this thing it shine!) I play Doom 3 at 1280x1024 on high details with 2XQ and 8X AF and get 53 FPS...very nice. The feature set is future-proof, especially when compared to the X800. This card was bought in prep for EQ II, and I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

Strengths: Speed, overclockability, compatibility.

This card is very fast at stock speeds but almost every PNY 6800 GT will overclock to at least Ultra speeds, something that can't be said for other brands. And since PNY stayed very close to the Nvidia reference design this card is very compatible with accessories such as the NV Silencer 5.

5 Star Review   By member Tenchi4U - Sep 21, 2004

Strengths: Spectacular performance, great o/c out of the box (better with NV Silencer 5), best performance per dollar, 3 year warranty

Weakness: pricey, maybe hard to locate locally, jealous friends, price gouging due to excess demand and low supply

Awesome card, runs all the latest games (FarCry, Doom3, SW:Battlfronts, etc) with EVERYTHING on. All games look spectacular, speed (especially w/ o/c) is phenominal (can easily push Ultra speeds). Probably the best deal as far as videocards go for the price

5 Star Review   By member ViperDxPro - Aug 14, 2004

Strengths: Definately SPEED

Weakness: Price is it, and the new seat belt to hold me in my computer chair lol

There is only one, and this card is it, my old geforce 4 card i thought was fast it has 128MB DDR RAM. The 6800 GT has 256MB DDR3 RAM. I have tryed both cards with doom3, and to get the full lighting, shading effects at 1600x1200 highest settings, i get NO slowdown with the 6800 GT. there is no compairson, this card is the best, plus the doom3 game engine will probably be use in more up coming games. I found this card today on sale at compusa for $399 and it includes a full game Doom3 for free, date is 8-15-2004 this is a great deal at this price.

Strengths: Fastest card For Doom 3

Weakness: Price only but ha ha cant help that

This card rocks, i also look at the x800 xt from Ait, the 6800 GT will kill it in frame rates in Doom 3 if you dont believe me check out this website www.Anandtech.com click on the Doom 3 picture they rate a lot of different cards on doom 3. (side note) I think sents they spent years building doom 3 game engine, they will probably use the game engine to build other games with it beyond just doom 3, this will set all new standard for video cards to live up to in benchmarks. but dont get me wrong ait does make good cards and the doom 3 game can be play on a lot of the older cards maybe not at screen res of 1600 x 1200, probley at lower res screens Today I played quake 4 and the card is still play all the newest games with high end graphics i am still happy i purchased this card after a year later.
