GeForce 7600 GS Video Card (512MB, AGP, DVI)

Strengths: Installed easily. Looks great! Will probably be the last AGP upgrade for us.

Weakness: None met yet.

This card was purchased to replace an AMD/ATI X1650 Pro AGP with 512 MB DDR2 that inexplicably passed away within a year of purchase. I've had success with both Nvidia and ATI in the past and the 1650 was an upgrade from a 9700 pro which served me well for quite some time, thus I was very disappointed when the 1650 died. Enter GeForce 7600 GS Video Card (512MB, AGP, DVI). It installed smoothly,...

Strengths: Fast when it does work

Weakness: Warranty is a joke

Chip is good - but PNY warranty is a joke. Many problems with computer slow down and lock ups when using this card. Plain and simple they will look for any reason not to fix card even when its obviously in warranty. Read the fine print! This is the first video card I have been unhappy with.

Looks like they found some issues with the Card and released a revision

Strengths: Video Playback is excellent.

Weakness: You need to have a PSU that has at least 20A running on the +12V Rail. Doesn't like the newer NVidia Drivers. Crashes and hangs on any 3D Games such as WOW.

Looks like PNY have released a new version of this card. Saw it on NewEgg and it now has a different fan and heatsink compared to the older Version. This may mean that there was an overheating issue with the older version. Maybe adding some stock coolers to the PC might fix the problem? Card will work in a normal Windows operating environment. Any Application that requires use of the 3D Graphics...

PNY GeForce 7600 GS AGP 8x

Strengths: Quiet, crisp graphics, good Bang for the Buck, multi-OS compatible

Weakness: Under-rated cooling, lower bus speed

Good: This is a Linux or BSD compatible card. Linux installs will taint the kernel. Tested under Fedora 7, Ubuntu 7.04, PC-BSD 3.3. It GL will freeze up under SuSE 10.2, but this seems to be glitch in the mouse-driver under xorg, not with the card. America's Army, DooM3, etc. all run like a scalded cat, at 24bits/1280x1024, Gears runs at hi-90's to low-100's FPS. This is in a home-built box, 1...

Midrange card for AGP slots

Strengths: Great quality video

Weakness: none

I had a FX 5200 AGP card and I installed Age of Empire 3. The video resolution was enough to load the game; however, the quality was poor, horrible colors and resolution. Then I was looking for a better video card without upgraded my motherboard because I donot have PCIE slots, just AGP. I bought this card and it was amazing. I was realy surprise to see AE3 in a new resolution and colors. My...
