Asus EN9600 GT
4 Star Review  cnet.com - Feb 21, 2008

THE GOOD: Faster performance than anything from ATI in this price range; makes most games playable at medium or better quality settings (depending on resolution); box includes all necessary cables and adapters. THE BAD: Still requires audio pass-through cable for audio output over HDMI. THE BOTTOM LINE: Nvidias new GeForce 9600 GT graphics chip gives the Asus EN9600 GT some of the best bang-for-the-buck weve seen in a midrange 3D card. If your goal is reliable frame rates in the latest PC games, you should pick this card up as soon as you can.

Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT | Asus
3 Star Review  productwiki.com - Oct 27, 2010

The GeForce 9600 GT, is a video card reference specification designed by Nvidia. It includes a 65nm G94/D9M GPU (graphics processor) and 256 MB, 512 MB, or 1 GB of GDDR3 memory connected through a 256-bit interface. With 505 million transistors, it almost doubles the performance of Nvidias last mainstream midrange card, the 8600GTS. Launched at a suggested price of 200 dollars, the suggested retail price has fallen steeply with mounting competition from the ATI 4850. ... PROS: (1) Great for HTPC (2) Low power consumption (doesnt require a separate power connection). (3) Pretty good balance between HTPC and gaming use. (4) SLI compatibility makes upgrading easier: just drop another one in. (5) Pretty good price versus performance ratio. ... CONS: (1) Fan can be quite loud, especially when in moderate to heavy use. (2) Known issues with the fan dying out as soon as 1.5 years after purchase. (3) Video playback sometimes lags with 1080p media.

Asus GeForce 9600GT Video Card
5 Star Review   By member MABN - Oct 26, 2008

Strengths: Fast, stable, inexpensive

Weakness: none so far

Very easy install. I saw an immediate jump in speed and contrast. I have a very quite system. The large fan on the card runs silently and has added absolutely no noise to the system.
