I will never purchase a Cyberpower product again, not because they do not make a good product but because of their tech support’s attitude. You PC users out there will not understand this review but you Mac users will. I purchased a Cyberpower CP1500AVRLCD UPS about a year ago and have never had an issue with it, it just did it’s job. I am using a iMac27 and like many out there I am running Windows 7 in a virtual machine under VMware’s fusion. I did not install Cyberpower’s software or even hook up the USB cable. My mother has a iMac24 and was using a competitor's UPS, it went bad and so I bought two more CP1500AVRLCDs from Amazon, one for her and another one for my iMac24 in my home. When the two arrived I took the year old unit protecting the iMac27 and moved it to the iMac24 and installed the new unit on my iMac27. This time I decided to install Cyberpower’s power management software on the virtual machine running Windows 7. In a short period of time (after not using my computer for about a day) I came in my office and everything on the UPS was off, no power at all. The blue power light on the UPS was on but there was no power to anything on the battery protected side. I turned the UPS off then on and everything was ok. I emailed Cyberpower’s tech support and was told that they had never seen this situation and it must be something I was doing wrong and was told I would have to ship it back to them at my expense. They would then test it and if it was defective they would either repair or replace. We all use UPS’s for a reason and I did not want to be without one while they tested this unit so I told them I was going to send it back to the supplier (I have had it less than 30 days) and ask for a replacement. I requested a return and replacement, they air freighted me a new unit that day and sent a return label with it, I did not have to pay for any freight. I installed the second unit and returned the defective unit. Again in a short period of time (less than a week) after not using my computer for about a day I came in my office to find everything on the battery protected side off. The exact same symptom as before. This time I plugged a lamp in the surge protected side and the light came on, I then plugged the lamp in the battery protected side it did not come on, I turned the UPS off and then back on and everything was powered up. I called Cyperpower’s tech support and was told that this condition could not exist it was impossible for the UPS to not have power in the battery protected side but to have power on the surge protected side, in other words I was either incredibly stupid or I was lying. This time I told tech support either they were going to send me a new unit and I would send this back or I was going to return it to the supplier and buy a competitor's unit. The next day they agreed to send me a new unit and asked for a credit card number to insure I would send the bad unit back, so I did. they sent me a new unit via UPS ground. When I received it I installed it and sent the other unit back. Again in several days I came in my office and everything on the battery protected side is off. Again I plugged a lamp in the surge protected side and the light came on I then plugged the lamp in the battery protected side and nothing. By this time I am suspecting something in the software must be creating this situation. I called tech support and he told me that he new this would happen, that it is not the UPS that was bad that I am doing something wrong, again telling me I am either incredibly stupid or lying. I can tell by his tone he is frustrated, as am I. I explained to him (he did not ask me) I was running Windows 7 in a virtual machine under fusion and I installed their power management software on the virtual machine. He then explained their software was not intended to be used by a virtual machine using VMware’s fusion. I told him I would uninstall the Window’s 7 power management software and see if that corrected the problem. I will watch to see if that is the issue here. There are way too many good reviews out there for this UPS backup to not admit it is a good product, however Cyberpower needs to look into this issue instead of calling their customers liars. For some reason it will shut down the battery protected side when my computer is not used for an extended period of time (this has always happened over a week end). Every time I would turn the unit off then back on and everything was working as it should be. A test as simple as plugging a lamp in the outlets can not be done wrong but Cyperpower’s tech support refuses to acknowledge this issue, in essence calling me a liar.

Great Value & Performance!
Strengths: Pricing, you get way more than what you pay for. Reliablitiy, up time during a power outage. Great interface and easy setup.
I have one on each of the computers at my store, 5 total and one on a Universal laser engraving machine. The laser is a 35 watt machine and it will run for about 15 minutes under full load when the power goes out. One of my computers is a high end overclocked gaming computer with two video cards (SLI), Intel Q6700 overclocked, 4GB ram and five fans and when the power went out I kept on playing...

I have one on each of the computers at my store, 5 total and one on a Universal laser engraving machine. One of my computers is a high end overclocked gaming computer with two video cards (SLI), Intel Q6700 overclocked, 4GB ram and five fans and when the power went out I kept on playing FarCry for about 22 minutes until the power came back on. According to the meter I had about 8 more minutes of power left! This is a great unit for anything and everything!

VERY GOOD PRODUCT!!!
Strengths: Adequate Power, Easy To Setup, Long Lasting Power, Quiet Operation, Reliable Performance, Small Footprint
I switched from using Belkin UPS to Cyber-Power a few years ago. The Cyber-Power UPS's have a much longer run time when the power goes out. They also have been more dependable with a longer battery life. I have 5 Cyber-Power UPS's in my business, 2 powering the cash registers (POS) and 3 for the back office computers. I've been very happy with their performance. Good value for the money.

Pretty sweet product
Strengths: Easy to use- diagnostics are great. It seems like the Cyberpower engineers pay attention to detail. For a ups, it even looks good compared to the competition.
As a technician, it's nice to see a fresh face in the ups category. These guys seem to want to make a difference with their products instead of churning out the same old 'me too' clunky looking ups'.
