Problem with the Audio Control Pod
3 Star Review   By member qwpweiiiie - Jan 11, 2006

Strengths: The speakers sound fine

Weakness: The plastic Audio Control Pod gets extremely hot in one spot

I bought these from Cambridge SoundWorks for $80 total, $21 less than the next lowest price. They sound fine. The only real problem is that the Audio Control Pod gets so hot it is beginning to melt in one spot. The speaker set is wired correctly, the audio input is from a Sound Blaster card, and the speaker volume is low.

Strengths: Very nice sound quality and nice look for a nice price

Weakness: sometimes disturbing bass

Using with laptop, gives you more than expected from 2.1 speakers. The only problem is that the micro drivers are not protected, so keep away your fingers!

Strengths: Clear upper-range. strong bass.

Weakness: mid-range is a bit weak and is somewhat noticible.

even though the mid-range is somewhat weak, the sound is clear and powerful and it is a good product, though i was expecting a bit more from these speakers. i thought i would get the whole package with this system since i enjoyed the i-trigue 2200's.

4 Star Review   By member mciceran - Feb 20, 2005

Strengths: Compact and sturdy design. Sound quality is well balanced and natural sounding. Remote control

Weakness: The sound quality is not as rich as achieved with Altec Lansing's $60-range speakers. No treble or mid-range sound control options.

While I these 2.1 speakers do not meet my original goal to replace my old Altec Lansing speakers with similar or richer sound, they have a lot of positive attributes. The individual components are well designed and appear to be sturdy in construction. They fit tight spaces and accommodate picky tastes (like mine). The sound is very natural and that also did not disappoint. The installation and integration with my Creative SoundBlaster LS sound card was automatic and flawless.

Strengths: great highs and lows, seperate controls for volume&bass levels

Prior to this purchase I had a similar speaker set from a different company. I was told by a friend that Creative was an excellant company for audio devices. This system is awesome it sounds as good as my home audio system. The bass really thumps-if u want it too. There are also plug in ports for other audio devices on the audio control pod for MP3 players and also a M port connector for other MP3 type players. This system is an excellant choice for your computer. You dont need to spend any more on a system than the price of this.

Strengths: Very nice sound quality, and very nice design.

Weakness: A bit pricy.

This is the best 2.1 speaker set I've ever had. The sound quality is very very good, crystally clear. While at the same time the satelite speakers are small enough to fit on my crowed desktop. The subwoofer is very good, very powerful. I strongly recommend.

Strengths: Base level is excellent.

Weakness: Wire connection is not so good. It will disconnect if you touch it.

The effect of base level is impressive, especially when you listen to some symphony, you will feel your heart beating with it. But the most headache thing of this product is the connection. The wires connectting the left and right box to the base box are not fixed. They always disconnect from the base box if you touch the base box by chance. Hope some improvement on this.

Strengths: Good looks, good sound quality

Weakness: Not loud enough to fill a room, expensive for a 2.1 speaker setup

I use this for a small club that I host in a room. Paired with my laptop and an Audigy NX, this makes a great combo. Volume controls comes with a port for a Creative MuVo, a handy solution. However like I stated earlier, the sound isn't loud enough to fill the entire room to a 'good' loud sound level. The bass is very powerful, but midrange needs work.

Strengths: Very clear sound quality

Weakness: Midrange is weak

These speakers are very good in quality and sound reproduction. The upper midrange especially stands out in clarity for both voice and instrument, being much better than comparable seakers in the store. Hiss was almost undetectable. Unfortunately, the lower midreange is pretty weak, in spite of the claim that the lateral firing driver gives deeper midrange. One just cannot have good midrange from a tweeter-sized speaker. The addition of a 3 1/2-inch driver would fix this weakness. The subwoofer was also very clean and smooth, without the sometimes boomy sound accompanying poorer speakers. Having a separate volume control on the wired remote control for the subwoofer is a plus, as some music is heavy in the bass, making the subwoofer come on too strong. The volume control saves the ears as well as the quality of the music.

4 Star Review   By member andrserg - Jan 28, 2004

Strengths: I use these speakers with my lap top. Very clear and reasonably powerful sound. The subwoofer is very good. The two tall speakers look really cool on the desk.

Weakness: The subwoofer is actually quite big and heavy. I had problems finding a place for it. But that's the only weak point I can think of.

I think it's a very good value and highest quality of speakers in this price range. Most of my friends in college use similar speakers with their lap tops but this set seems to be the best deal because the sound is clear and it's sufficiently powerful. Don't expect it to be louder than your home hi-fi stereo though. I recommend this set.

Strengths: Good sound quality Aesthetic look Strong woofer

Weakness: Remote volume cable is too thick.

I was looking for a good looking and good sound quality speakers. Inspire L3500 with its price of little over 100 $ was a nice decision. The two speaker is very good sized and looks really nice. So I can keep them next to my laptop without taking much space. I am very happy with their look and the quality of the sound for the money I paid. I recommend this speaker set.
