Great Home Server
5 Star Review   By Tim on Provantage (Channel Engine) - Sep 29, 2011

Strengths: Solid server hardware made for business, Quad core (E3-1220), expandable, awesome case.

Weakness: Only problem I have found is that it does not specify that disks require "disk tray" to be used. If using your own disks or ordering, plan on an extra $17-$80 for each tray.

I'm using this as a Home Server and comparing this to an Acer or other home-made servers there is no comparison. This offers solid business technology (#639259-005) for a great price. I was replacing an existing system and had the disks. Disk trays are #373211-001 is HP gave me the correct part number this time. Some reviews say there is no mounting hardware (screws) but there are many screws lined up for use with additional CD/DVD drives. Inside is just impressive.Comes with "drive cage" where SATA/SAS mounts are fixed on a circuit board so drives just slide in (no cables) after having proper disk trays. Trays are not really required, but recommended since a drive could disconnect at any time. Creative people could rig it.Overall I think I have a 100% better machine for roughly about $100-150 more than other servers. I feel others are built more like a home PC where this is business server quality and meant to last.Should have 3gbs hard drives at 7200 rpm and make sure to order and verify specs for memory... have read others have had issues.
