Kodak ESP 7
3 Star Review  productwiki.com - Nov 30, 2011

The Kodak ESP 7 is an all-in-one, color photo inkjet printer designed for high-quality document/image printing coupled with massive savings on ink. The Kodak ESP 7 features built-in & secure Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity for sharing printer-access on an at-home or office network. Plus, the ESP 7 offers ultra-fast duplex document printing at 32ppm black and 30ppm color, not to mention scanning and copying up to 8.5x11" (borderless) and 8.5x14"(legal). Additional features of the Kodak ESP 7 all-in-one printer include a large 3” LCD display, USB & PictBridge slots, and BLUETOOTH Wireless compatibility. The Kodak ESP 7 retails for $199.99 and comes with a 1 year limited warranty. Additional Information The Kodak ESP 7 is a grand step up from the ESP 3 and ESP 5. It adds along 802.11b/g connectivity, as ... PROS: (1) easy to set up, good for entry-level users (2) usage is fairly straight-forward, driver is easy to work with (3) cost-per-print is reasonable, doesnt work through ink too quickly (4) prints very fast even when using good quality (5) compact design, takes up minimal space on the desk ... CONS: (1) makes a lot of noise during the printing process (2) color accuracy and detail on pictures isnt professional-grade, but OK for the average user (3) network setup can be problematic, often has firewall conflicts

Paper Jams and the Kodak ESP7 All-in-One Printer
1 Star Review

Strengths: Cheap Ink

Weakness: False Paper Jams that cannot be fixed.

I have been very disappointed in my Printer. The first one I had was returned to the factory because it had a false paper jam that could not be fixed. When the replacement printer arrived (not a new one) , it sounded like a garbage disposal, But I decided to give it a try. It lasted only From January to now (April 15). I am very dissapointed in Kodak, I thought it was a brand that I could trust!!! Don't buy one. I wish that I had looked at the reviews before I bought mine.

Wireless Connection Problems
2 Star Review

Strengths: Prints a decent photo.

Weakness: Noisy, connection problems via Wireless and Cat5 connection.

This printer is OK for a stand alone printer/scanner/copier. I had troubles installing it from the day I bought it, and I work in IT. Originally I got it installed using a CAT5 cable from my Router, got it to find an IP address then got it to connect wireless using that IP. Later I could not connect because the IP changed (router is using DHCP) and I have not gotten it connected since. There is very little support online about this, and now I fear my NIC card went because I cannot even get this connected via CAT5 cable. I would not recommend this to the average user if you want/need to connect to you PC.

Problems connecting
2 Star Review   By member jerryl_97 - Jun 6, 2009

Strengths: Good Print quality, reasonable price, fairly good support.

Weakness: Problem connecting to my Vista Laptop, many hours going through too many levels of support to hear "This must be a Microsoft problem call them".

When I attempted to install this printer, I could not get it to connect wireless to my Vista Laptop. I spent lots of my time going through their online troubleshooting help then their online support then their live support then their top level of support. The final solution was it must be a Toshiba (my laptop brand) or Microsoft problem. I decided I could live with no wireless on the laptop cause I really wanted this printer. Then I went to work and logged into our network and all my work printers were gone and I could not reinstall them, as soon as I removed the Kodak software everything was back to normal. I bought a Dell all in one and guess what had it unpacked and installed in just moments. The cost of the ink is more but the Kodak has a print head, that I could never get a clear answer on the life of and I never found the cost anywhere. Most printers ink cartridge is the print head as well, I have had some in the past where the ink was cheap but the print head was almost as much as a new printer, a trade off. I am not sure I would recomend this printer!

Kodak ESP 7 All-In-One Printer
1 Star Review   By member pj10V - Apr 21, 2009

Strengths: Nice quality prints

Weakness: Jams frenquently, slow when it does work.

I congradulate folks who received printers that they are pleased with. I cerntainly wouldn't purchace another. It jams every time I use it—various alerts—alignment, feeder, open tray clean the paper, etc. Often it just spins it's wheels—sending data to the printer and never prints. Then you have to delate the job(s), turn the printer off, waint a few minutes, and then try again. Still can't make copies—just print photos. The quality of the prints is nice. Surface is very fragile. Very disappointed in Kodak—a company with a good reputation...
