I had been looking for a good printer to print photos for a while. Nothing worked with a mac computer. This printer is fantastic! The colors are vibrant, and the speed is more than adequate. I would recommend this printer to anyone.

Strengths: Great Print Quality, speed and the ink last and last.

Weakness: This machine (Depending on usage) will only last 1.5 years, before it needs to be reset at a cost of $75 + Parts.

Buy knowing that you will have to spend money on resetting it. After 1.5 years, you will need to take it in to a repair shop where they will replace the sponges and reset the "Used Ink Tank". The cost is over $150! When you take into consideration that you get all the ink with a new printer, which is worth another $60, then the total is $200. At that price, you might as well buy a new one every 1.5 years. I am in an office so your mileage will vary. I have owned the BJC8200 and never had that problem. But then again, I don't print as much at home. This might be something inheritate by all InkJet printers, but I have not confirmed that. Check with your dealer to see if the printer you're buying has an "Used Ink Tank" before purchasing.

5 Star Review   By member qwerty108 - Jan 13, 2004

Strengths: I have to write because I love this printer because it is fast, quiet does 13" x 19" at wonderful quality. Searching the web I found ink cartridges for $1.59 each whigh makes printing almost free!

Weakness: None because I don't care about panoramas and feel this one aspect does not fairly rate this printer a 1. I will give it a 5 any day and buy another if still available.

I paid under $200 for this large format printer and love the quality you get having the two extra cartridges for C & M half tone. Ink is around $10 a cartridge but found it for on the web at neximaging (-if it is ok to say that, not trying to plug anyone just want to be helpful) for an unbelievable $1.60 each and the quality is perfect!! I can see no difference than with the original.

Strengths: Fastest 13x19 prints of any printer; 6-7 minutes at highest quality setting. Glossy or matte prints worthy of hanging in anyone's home; 2 of mine hang on our walls after matting & framing.

Weakness: To print panoramics requires a work-around.

The best bang for the $ I've ever spent on a printer even though I paid top $ when I bought mine. I've previously owned Lexmark, Epson & HP. None of them holds a candle to the S9000. It's one heck of a bargain at today's prices. Never had a driver problem; sound like an operator problem with another poster.

Strengths: Fine prints, does not show so much of the digital halo effect between lines of contrast as epson & olympus printers do

Weakness: Driver SUCKS!

I got all hooked on Canon equipment, until tonight. I am now learning into the wee hours of the morning that there is no way for me to print a high quality image without any color distortion because canons stupid driver has to add "warm tones" to everything so the colors are not the same as what you see on your monitor or if you print a standard 'level 4' quality image - which ends up with lines every quarter of an inch. ARRRRRGGGG!

Strengths: Good quality prints for $250 printer.

Weakness: Very BAD driver: No PANORAMIC images.

after many years using Epson printers I'v got Canon S9000. And I'm completely disappointed: When I try to print panoramic foto I found not possible print panorama with 13" wide ...more than 19" long .. that so stupid limitaiton!! Call to Canon, they told me to try "banners" mode, but it's not work with photopaper and even don't let me use 13" X 19" page as base... so my panorama came out poor 8" X 19" size instead of be 13" X 30" (as real proportions of that image) - that I can print on my standart size printer - what for to use S9000 or i9100 if they have so poor driver...? Also no real control as Epson have on Stauration, Contrast and Brightness That's SHAME to Canon software department - any Epson printers (even 8.5 wide printers) print up to 44" LONG pics. Will change this printer to Epson. ... if Canon don't update the driver as they promice to answer me soon ...

Strengths: Photo lab results on your desktop! Prints up to 13x19 for a fraction of the cost. Very Quiet, extremely fast! Much less expensive than Epson 2200. Separate ink tanks a plus. Lowest priced WF printer.

Weakness: Takes up a lot of deskspace. Software applications caused a crash on Windows XP - had to uninstall Canon's browser, but don't need it anyway.

Imagine doing 13x19 blowups for about $2.50 plus cost of the ink! My local lab charges $20-30 for a print that size. The colors are beautiful on this printer. I have printed shots from a Nikon D100 and Nikon 5700 and they are gorgeous!
