I HATE this machine
Weakness: Poor menu design, way too complicated
I HATE this machine, menu is way complicated, burns thru ink like water. I HATE using/printing/scanning and faxing. The programmig does not make sense. Troubleshooting is unclear, phone support from Cannon is weak. Avoid this machine.

Built to broke. Don't buy this machine
Strengths: Print quick
Weakness: Incoming fax store in memory when ink level low.
Short life usage - Less than one year. Could not print. Macheine show service error 5100 (6A00) - Movement of printer head holder is block. Fixed under warranty. Change the parts- Purge Unit. Use another 5 month, the same error message 5100 (6A00) shows again. It costed $184.00 for using less than 1 & half years. What a waste and hassle to buy this machine. Don't buy this printer.

Strengths: Great photos, easy copying and easy to refill
Weakness: I haven't found any in nearly two years
I really like my Canon Pixma MP530 multifunction printer. I really like my Canon Pixma MP530 multifunction printer. It is very easy to use and very easy to refill the cartridges with good quality refill ink - Calidad is good quality, easy to refill and has good chip over-ride instructions. Another good thing about refilling Canon cartridges is that they are individual cartridges for each color and they are clear so you can see just what you are doing - easy, easy, easy, but can get messy if you aren't using some common sense. It prints great looking photos, which are cheap using good quality inks and also buying your papers on the best sales at Staples (use good quality photo paper or your prints will fade quickly - equaly important are good quality inks). If you are really into long lasting photo printing you may want to get an Epson though, since they use pigmented inks which help prints hold up even longer - the problem though is that pigment inks clog easier and if you don't print regularly you may end up hating your otherwise great, but clogged, printer.

Canon MP530 All-In-One-Printer
Strengths: Perfect for home or small office.
After researching several all-in-one printers, I decided to purchase the MP530, based on specifications, size and appearance. It's ideal for a home office and the scanning and print quality are excellent.

Not what I expected...
Weakness: Photos and documents - the unit itself.
I had to replace an HP 7310 All In One because it broke after about two years - original cost, about $400. After reading some reviews of the MP530, decided to go with it as we will no longer purchase HP products. We have been disappointed with the MP530. It cannot make double sided copies via the document feed. It can be done, but it is not like other models that will do it automatically. Printed...

Printed documents can show dots and are grainy. The same can be said of the photos, and I have had color problems as the hues are off and the photos cannot be used - so I have to take my photos on a CD to a local store and PAY to have them print it. The photos are just not what we have seen from other printers. Stuck with this unit for now....
