Ultra 1GB works like a charm
4 Star Review   By member dejos479 - Dec 12, 2006

Strengths: Price after rebate, exonomically priced. Gets the job done

I was building a new PC and wanted to have at least 1 GB memory. Got the Ultra brand and the last 15 days have found the memory to be very reliable. No issues, installation was quick and easy.

1GB DDR PC3200 DDR DIMM Memory
5 Star Review   By member SquirrelWorks - Dec 5, 2006

Strengths: Large capacity 1GB module, very stable, highly compatible, price, life time warranty.

Weakness: DDR (old technology compared to DDR2), CAS latency (CL3), little or no overclocking capability.

This memory is clearly targeted for the budget and OEM market where compatibility is king. The price paid for that compatibility is a higher CAS latency (CL3). So you obviously won't find this memory in much demand with high performance systems (e.g., CL2/CL2.5). But for its intended market, the product works very well. Installed this 1GB stick of RAM into a recent eMachine PC purchase. Works perfectly and have had no compatibility issues whatsoever. And with its lifetime warranty, should anything go wrong, Ultra will provide a free replacement.

Great RAM
5 Star Review   By member amnemo - Dec 2, 2006

Strengths: Nice to have 1GB on a single stick of RAM

The access times are superfast. The RAM has a lifetime warranty right out of the box. Also the RAM has superfast access times and overwhelming success on all platforms and software.

Ultra 1Gb DDR 3200
4 Star Review   By member bondevg - Nov 8, 2006

Strengths: It is working well and it is cheap. Do its job.

Weakness: weak timing

I bought it at TigerDirect, since it was the cheapest DDR memory I was able to find. I was not able to find the precise specification (like timing), but I am not going to overclock it (probably, it is not possible). I had Ultra memory before without problems. Not the best, but cheap memory, that do what it supposed to do.

Big boost in preformance
5 Star Review   By member mmoerdyk - Nov 1, 2006

Strengths: Easy to install, packaged well.

I installed two 1G of Ultra Memory. The preformance increase was huge, but that was to be expected going from 512MB to 2.5G of ram. Everything went smoothly on the install. I've only upgrade ram one other time and that was years ago, so it hard to compare my experience to anything. Overall, I'm very happy with the product. It did what I hoped it would do for my machine!

good investment on a good memory
5 Star Review   By member weizhaonet - Jul 31, 2006

Strengths: good warranty. 1 single module. solid performance

Weakness: no.

bought this one about 2 weeks back, after reading good reviews from here and from a fellow friend. Both of us have the same module, I bought two to upgrade my machine to 2gb. Immediately saw the performace enhancement. The installation was easy. Overall good investment on a solid memory.

good quality memory stick with decent price
5 Star Review   By member wxz44428 - Jul 30, 2006

Strengths: simply works. decent price

Weakness: none so far

purchased this a week ago. Installed on my compaq sr1010z machine with no problem. It is a k8 machine. Works like a charm. Immediately saw the performance boost (over the original 256MB). Have not tried to overclock yet. It is probably the best 1gb 3200 stick I can find, in terms of Quality/price.

Ultra 1GB PC3200 DIMM module
5 Star Review   By member pqchen - Jun 11, 2006

Strengths: 1GB PC3200 capacity on a single module, life time warranty a plus.

Weakness: More power consumption and heat than DDR2, CL3 slower than CL2.

1GB capacity on a single DIMM, better if you can get 2 of them to work in dual-channel mode. CL3 is not the best timing but acceptable. Ultra offers limited life time warranty, a plus. Works great as additional memory and does improve system performance, especially if you play a lot of PC games.

Ultra 1GB DDR PC3200 DDR DIMM Memory
5 Star Review   By member djhendo - Mar 29, 2006

Strengths: Great product, great price. Aluminum heat spreaders. Awesome bang for the buck!

Weakness: None thus far.

Been using this RAM for about 1 month now. I originally purchased 1 stick from the Radio Shack deal and was very happy with the increased performance which I noticed immediately after installation. Had only 1 stick running single channel on a Sempron 3100+, then decided to purchase another stick in the hopes of running them dual channel on another system. So far it's performing great in dual channel, no complaints whatsoever. I'm extremely happy with these Ultra 1GB sticks and do plan to purchase another two as well as doing some overclocking with them in the near future.

Works well
4 Star Review   By member lgmayka - Mar 25, 2006

Strengths: No errors in Microsoft memory diagnostic

Weakness: Triggered error in a second, weak RAM module

When I first installed this 1GB module in slot 1, replacing a 512MB module in that slot and leaving anothe 512MB module in slot 2, my computer quickly locked up. I ran Microsoft's memory diagnostic (still with 1.5GB of RAM installed) and got plenty of errors. But then I removed the 512MB module, and everything was fine. I then added back a different 512MB module, this time from Ultra (the previous was Kingston), and all runs fine. The memory diagnostic finds no errors. So my conclusion is that this 1GB module from Ultra is just fine, but that Kingston 512MB module must be flaky (even though it worked well enough with the computer's original 512MB module). I'll be contacting Kingston for a replacement.
