Fast memory at a slightly premium price
4 Star Review   By member fvpawli - Dec 17, 2006

Strengths: Speed ratings, compatibility, solid performance

Weakness: Price

Works great on my i865 Abit AI7 board. It read the speed ratings rwrong at first but was easy to manually change. Read at first boot as 2.5 4-4-7 and changed to 2.5-3-3-7. I was also able to midify at run at CAS 2.0 with this set. The only thing I am not able to run at 1T which was a little disappointing. Overal for the $10-15 extra above the value ram this wasn't a bad deal. Would purchase again. although at $115 a set I am not too anxious to upgrade to 2 GB.

Patriot PSD1G400KH CL 2.5 memory.
5 Star Review   By member overtork - Jun 3, 2006

Strengths: Fast, heatspreader & low cost, reliable. Dual Channel.

Works great with my AMD 64 +3200 processor and Abit mother board. Added it to my existing 1 GB memory for a total of 2 GBs. Games work great and don't lock up. Heat reducers help keep memory cool. Plug and play and easy install. Free tech support and a lifetime warranty on this product. Made in USA. Excellent RAM, excellent value! I would recommend it to anyone.

No problems on new system
4 Star Review   By member r_sweene - Apr 8, 2006

Strengths: Price, heat spreaders.

Bought this memory as part of a new system with a Gigabyte motherboard and AMD Athlon 64. So far, no problems after 3 months of use. I have always used Kingston memory in the past, and try to avoid generic memory. This memory was cheaper at the time I was building my system, and came with the heat spreaders. I don't pay much attention to boot times or latency as long as the system doesn't crash or hang. The Kingston memory in my last system ran 5+ years with daily use and never a problem. I can only hope this memory will be as reliable.

5 Star Review   By member akung99 - Jan 6, 2006

Strengths: fast AND cheap, memory is made in USA! easy to install and was worth the money. has heat spreaders and looks cool

Weakness: none so far

bought two sticks of this stuff and it works flawlessly in my machine. the installation took literally 30 seconds, minus the time it took to remove the cover of my computer and screw it back on. no tinkering with the settings were required after the ram sticks were installed. so far my computer hasn't crashed or froze so this ram is pretty stable. if anything changes ill give another review of the ram, but so far everything is looking good

Patriot Memory PSD1G400KH
5 Star Review   By member KonigSchutze - Dec 4, 2005

Strengths: Cheap, low CAS, free heatspreader

I used to have a Corsair 512MB with CAS of 3. Not long ago, I decided to upgrade my RAM. So I bought a Kingston 512MB RAM for $80.80. I did a research shortly after and regretted my decision for I found this product at newegg for about $70 after rebate. These RAMs have a CAS of 2.5 which some people say will improve your computer considerably. They also come with free heatspreaders but I could care less since it doesn't seem to be doing anything (Besides spreading the heat...duh!). But even if you don't get the heatspreaders or the rebate, these are still excellent products.

Great RAM for the price!
5 Star Review   By member SGT-Slick - Nov 29, 2005

Strengths: Timings run at the posted speeds, stays relatively cool with the heatspreaders, runs stable and price is right.

Weakness: Haven't found any as of yet.

Bought this RAM to take my PC from 512MB to 1.5GB. I previously tried the Mushkin value series, but had to RMA them due to compatability issues with my motherboard. Haven't had any stability issues so far; games run noticeably faster and completely stable, and the PC cold boots in less than 15 seconds. The price is also less than similar offerings from competitors. Patriot also offers free tech support and a lifetime warranty on this product, and while I haven't had to take advantage of either, it's good to know they're there in case I do. Excellent RAM, excellent value!

Patriot 1GB PC3200
4 Star Review   By member garyheck - Nov 16, 2005

Strengths: Comes with heat spreaders, installs easily. No fuss, no muss dependability.

Weakness: None really.

You can find less expensive memory, but none right now that are of comparable quality. And none that come with a lifetime warranty. Not that it matters if you are putting it into a server, but the memory looks good right out of the box. The pre-installed heat spreaders have a solid feel and frech blue color. Most folks reading this review probably won't need them, but there is a small sheet of generic instructions on how to install the memory and how to get warranty/technical support.
