To all those who think the T@2...

Strengths: Everything

Weakness: Occasionally, Nero has a problem starting up, but this is a software problem and not the burner.

To all those who think the T@2 doesn't work. There are options on how it prints the image. My first image was very faint, but at close examination it was just the outline of the image, in my case letters. A simple change to a setting was made, and the second attempt was a success. Dark filled in letters, and easy to see. This is a really cool feature, and should not be frowned upon by those who...

While it's odd that the drive is...

Strengths: Nero 5.5, extra media, ultra-DMA cable, availability of firmware, whisper quiet.

Weakness: If you switch computers, and want a new faceplate (black vs. white), you have to return the drive and order a new one. Email support is a little sluggish to respond.

While it's odd that the drive is 44x (vs 40/48x), I haven't had a single issue w/this drive on Win2k, a 300MHz PII, and a 2.4 GHz P4. That "cute image technology" knocked in previous posts as "light" or "not working" is probably more user-specific - not the drive. It worked fine on my first try -- but on the *wrong* media, which (RTFM) documentation CLEARLY states will be LIGHT...yes, indeed:...

Strengths: Solid burn repeatedly! Silent:) Smooth. Great specs. Proof at http://www.tomshardware.com/storage/20020927/index.html

Weakness: NONE

I own many Yamaha products. The DSP - A1 in gold finish. A few CD players. and of course the CRW - F1. The other nice thing with Yamaha is the Firmware updates. I own a cycle as well from Yamaha and am trading it this year to the FJR 1300. Everything I have owned from Yamaha is great for value and superb reliability without compromise. PS. This recorder and Ahead Nero & Clone CD were matches made...

Great burner but kinda expensive....

Strengths: Very reliable (Its only been 2 months and i've already burned over 2000 cd's with only 2 coster)and fast 44x burning. Works with all cd media tested so far. plus Nero 5.5 is included!!

Weakness: Big diffrence in burning speed if media is not 44x compatible. Falls from 44x to 16x :(

Great burner but kinda expensive. I have not been able to finda media that was compatible with DiskT@2 labeling... Other than that I do not regret buying this burner :)

Strengths: I don't know, the drive never worked

Weakness: See above

The drive install was straight forward, given the so-so documentation. Installed the Nero software, but after that, every time I tried to use Nero BurnRom, my PC locked up. I downloaded every fix suggested at both the Yamaha and Nero web sites, but no luck. Called Yamaha tech support. The first tech (after waiting 15 minutes) was no help. He instructed me to uninstall the Nero software, load the...
